Re: KARA - Jet Coaster Love
This is all but certain to finish at #1 for the week! Quite amazing, considering it was a stacked week. I like the single, but the b-side is the gem. They really don't get to do ballads in Korea.

Re: KARA - Jet Coaster Love
Yeah, they certainly know their audience. Definitely more Pretty Girl era cuteness than any of the newer stuff. While JUMPIN' had crossover appeal (Korea and Japan), this is unabashedly made for the Japanese audience.

Re: KARA suing DSP Media Entertainment for Slave Contract
Yup, EXACTLY what I thought. It seems to me a HUGE problem for Korean "crossover" artists in the respect that when they come to Japan, the contracts are basically written between their "home" SM/DSP/etc. Korean companies and the Avex/Universal/etc. Japanese companies, with the ac...

Re: KARA suing DSP Media Entertainment for Slave Contract
Hmmh... break up after they make it big in Japan. Where have I seen this before? I think the problem arises when Japan promotions essentially double or triple their work schedule, and they (the singers) see very little if any of this profit, so essentially they're getting a pay cut working a lot mor...

Noooooooooooo! This sucks! I love KARA, not as much as 2NE1, but definitely more than SNSD! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... prised.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Re: The New All Purpose SNSD Thread
Yeah, def. a "filler" song as far as SNSD goes, then again it is a CM tie up. Also, unsurprisingly, they let Sunny and Seohyun feature a bit more (which could not happen in a "real" SNSD song... kind of like what happens in HP c/w songs where the lesser members get the spotlight!...

Looks like they're gonna have a new single out, "Visual Dreams," a tie in for Intel CPU commercials.

I didn't think I would be as excited for (now 2-man) DBSK. I REALLY liked only two songs of theirs - "Doushite, Kimi...(I won't type the rest)" and "Purple Line." I remember playing these songs on constant repeat while driving to work for days. Now, add "Keep Your Head Down&...

Re: Ai to graduate from Morning Musume
No one has given more to the group. She'll have the entire year to get the kids up to speed and that will be it. She has nothing left to prove in MM. All we can do is wish her the best in whatever she does. 9th Gen. is the future of the group.

Re: Morning Musume v.9.0
2010 was pretty much a low point in my HP fandom, but this year things are beginning to look up. I think this announcement is interesting, because I'm pretty sure this is the first time the group is basically split down the middle in terms of age. I wouldn't be surprised if this 9th gen becomes the ...

[quote name='Kaworu' post='90487' date='Jan 2 2011, 02:49 PM']After watching the SNSD performance for the Daijun special, my only question is why do management make Hyoyeon look ugly all the time? To me, she's always stood out since Milky Way. For those who say she can't sing, I suggest you look up her 08 Live of Romantic Ukare Mode. She has a good voice and can sing live. I hope the PV is good!

yeah, pretty underwhelming. it lacks that "kick" that the original song had. I forgot how good Sweets was. Sure it was loli, but in a kickass/sassy kind of way, probably not seen since SPEED. Where can I find those kind of groups anymore?!

Oh yeah, I guess Ga-in was the first to rock that haircut (successfully). Yeah, WTF is with the arbitrary costume rules?! Rules seem to only apply to newer/less established groups. BTW, I really dig the entire Temptastic EP. Track 4 "I Don't Know" is one of the most fun songs ever.

Re: T-ara come to get down!
They actually used the strange matador-like outfits from the pic above (sans the awesome hats) in this performance of "WHY ARE YOU BEING LIKE THIS?!" BTW, tangent here, but I noticed that kind of short, boyish haircut is kind of popular in girls groups of late (Nicole from Kara has the sam...

Does anyone notice that Sooyoung seems to enjoy her higher profile when they're on Japanese TV (cuz she doesn't need the translator to know what's going on)? She always has this kind of mischievous "I know what they're saying and you don't" look on her face. Those route0 days are finally p...

Sorry, I thought everyone knew she looked like Amuro, which is why she usually scores #1 for KPOP girl group members in most polls. BTW, yeah, I watched both PVs back to back, and there's more Nicole and and Gyuri in the Japanese version. In the Korean vers, they cut their screen time and increased ...

Was it just me, or did the Korean version seem even more Hara-centric, which is kind of strange, because I thought she was just (much) more popular in Japan (cuz she looks like a younger you know who), or is it the same way in Korea?

The Nishino Kana album "to Love..." It's pretty damn random. Rap, dance, ballads, even a rockish track. Still good, though.

PV definitely adds to an otherwise not-as-fun song. It doesn't stick with you as much as "Gee" or "Oh," or even "Genie." I liked the dresses, though, and I dig the dance.

Inception is the first film I watched in theatres twice within 24 hours. I saw a midnight showing. Then saw it again the next day in IMAX. Thriller, mystery, "spy" film, sci-fi/fantasy, there's even elements of a "disaster" film here. If Avatar, with its Pocaontas storyline, got ...

As expected, Germany DEMOLISH England. Disallowed goal aside (which would have made it 4-2, or if you REALLY want to stretch it 4-3), Germany was just better.
