Re: Morning Musume'17 CM for Marukome Miso Soup
I saw this pop up on YouTube today and was really bummed. The video and vocals are pretty good, but the rearrangement with digital drums and instruments is a big shame. I guess that's the sound now, but boy, Morning Coffee shouldn't sound like this. :(

I'll believe 3rd party support when I see it. I got burned on the Wii U and I'm not liable to plunk down even more money on Nintendo saying one thing and then doing nothing. It's good to see the hardware side err on the side of normalcy. I wonder if devs will have a weird time with making carts ins...

Got Grow Home on sale the other night and it's really nice. I generally don't like Ubisoft games with lots of open-world exploration in lieu of meaty content, but Grow Home is on the other side of the line. The repetition and freedom of exploration is relaxing. I had a really great time with Infamou...

ooooooooooh my god, Kaori's back. Her other solo album's fill a great, calm hole in my heart.
Her past albums had a mix of Japanese, French, Spanish, and Greek and Italian (I think).

Wow, MM destroyed. And frankly, I'm surprised at Namie's sales, but I think she's been pushing digital big time (plus two of the songs already released digitally). It's truly a big thing to be able to say MM sold 10x Namie Amuro (who is resurging and is seeing a marginal uptick in single sales) on s...

Wow, what an amazing setlist. There are only a few blocks that I'm super interested in, but just the variety of songs and singers is stunning. I hope they could do something like this every year, but it's such a big undertaking between active/inactive/not H!P members. I really want a DVD of this!

I really like the song, but jeez, the timing of the lyrics feels weird. Like Trinu said, it's very squished. I wonder how much Tsunku relies on fans relistening and growing accustomed to strange rhythms like that? The music video is pure sex. The visual effects are superb, the dancing is cool, an...

No, PS4 cannot play PS3 games. Sony's Gaikai service launching later next year is thought to be able to let users stream copies of games they own digitally (and maybe if they have the disc to authenticate), but details are still sort of nebulous. There are a number of PSN titles that will do cross p...

Re: Morning Musume to change their name!
I think it'll stick around maybe a year or two and then get dropped. I'd have felt okay with just a new permanent name, but this yearly thing is such a crazy way to screw up whatever legacy the group will make. "Yeah, I was in Morning Musume 14 and 15 which are the exact same thing." The o...

^ I liked the movie, but I couldn't see a sequel. I hadn't seen a commercial or anything before I saw it, so it was a little bit of a trip going in blind. A few weeks ago, I saw Bad Grandpa and it was hilarious. I usually don't like the cringy stunt stuff, but it was just nonstop funny scenarios. I ...

Got some Playstation 4 impressions~ Resogun is easily one of the strongest launch titles and it's much more accessible than House Marque's previous Super Stardust HD. Re: Morning Musume become Olympic Cheer Team for Sochi Olympics.
This is a big get! Obviously, the timing of MM's resurgence paired with their legacy made them a powerful choice. If this goes well, they could play a part in 2020 too. Tsunku's in a high-pressure position here. If the cheer song is good enough, it could sell gangbusters, but it needs to be a good e...

^ To go with that, there was a ton of Twitter heat from a few bigger "games journalists" (Sessler and Arthur Gies notably) spreading some very worrisome, ambiguous tweets. Sessler was opining that he may consider leaving the industry due to certain policies, but couldn't go into detail. So...

Even though most of this is her fault, I still feel bad for her. She really can't do anything anymore. She wasn't the biggest personality, but anybody who knows her now will always associate her with the affair. On paper, it seems like her life may as well be over.

Kill la Kill is way amazing. The animation is gorgeous and I love some scowling women action. Definite watch this season. I got a good chance to listen to LEVEL3 today, but I've only had one run through, so if I do a track-by-track, it'll be later. Overall, Yasutaka has gotten better about keeping consistent sounds on albums and LEVEL3 is a good example of that. It's helped by a consistent sound among the album's 7 sin...

I also watched Kyoukai no Kanata and I thought it was pretty cute! Kill la Kill looked interesting, but I think I didn't watch because the description was screwed up or something. I'm also weirdly interested in the Oshiri Kajiri Mushi anime since that song is, like, 7 years old now.

Meganebu just started (episode 1 is on Crunchyroll) and it's a cute slice of life comedy. Five glasses wearing dorks team up to make x-ray glasses so they can see through inanimate objects (womens clothing). Episode 1 really quickly sets up the characters while providing real hijinks. There's a dram...
