Re: The New Official J-Drama Thread!
I stay away from all teacher dramas. They're all too similar. Besides, once you've seen the best of them, GTO, why bother with the rest?! That goes for cop dramas, too. I quit them after watching "Odoru Daisousasen"

Re: Anybody following the elections in Japan?
Been posted to Hello Online, but in case you didn't notice, the "interview" where the Japanese First Lady gets all whacky was from Bijo Houdan. Yes, THAT Bijo Houdan with HP members interviewing famous Japanese women. I don't doubt she's a bit kooky, but do you think she kind of played it ...

This is such BS. I lived in CA from 99 to 01, and then again from 05 to 06, and no one came, then MM and then GLAY come. Fuck!! I would have been the first one to buy a ticket for the SF show. I lived about 30 minutes away from the Filmore. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DI...

Re: Disney buys Marvel comics
hardcore comic nerds are going abso-fuckin-lutely APESHIT over this (and I love it). From a business standpoint, this was absolutely brilliant on Disney's part. As for Marvel, they must have did the calculations and realized they couldn't do it all the movie stuff on their own, i.e. production, mark...

Re: Momoko's 4th PB "momochiiii!"
I really liked the pics in this PB. Nothing was too over the top. Even the most questionable pics, (the ones with the microphone), don't come off as overtly sexy, imho, because she still has her same cutesy smile. In fact, throughout the book she's never really "trying" to be sexy. Rather,...

They replaced the other 3 for obvious reasons (they were put in s/mileage). Irorin has deserved more spotlight time for a while now. I'm glad she's getting it. Mizuki only joined HPE last year. That's pretty remarkable that they already put her in a group.

I love the C/W - "Kirai Suki Daikirai!" It's more of the "classic" Buono rock sound many of us are fond of. I can't wait to see this love. BTW, the beginning guitar riff is mostly the one from "Aisha Loan de," which is of course from The Knack's "My Sharona."

2nd is good enough considering the competition. About the B'z single - They usually get good sales PLUS it's tied in to the most popular drama of the season - Buzzer Beat, so that's an extra bump.

Re: Movies
Watched District 9 on Friday. It pretty much delivered on the hype. The SFX, done by Peter Jackson's effects studio in NZ, was as good as the stuff in LOTR, which is great considering this movie was for "only" $30M. It's a pseudo-documentary, and from the way it's told, you can already gue...

They won't just because there's that pesky Ayu single in the way. Anyway, it would be nice, but I don't think it's that important, as long as they still have decent songs. Both Shouganai and this one have been really good.

Saw GI Joe yesterday. It wasn't as bad as I thought. About as good as Transformers 1, which means it kicked the shit out of Transformers 2, Wolverine also, for that matter. It was basically one big ass action scene followed by another. The Duke/Baroness subplot is retarded and drags on way too long,...

Noticed it in a few PVs now but this is really blatant, but is it just me, or does Momo like to stick out her ass when dancing. The vast improvement over last year's Spring Concert is very noticeable. Last year, they seemed unsure of themselves as a group. This year, they're comfortable with themselves as a unit, as well as their abilities.
