Senbatsu results are today and TokyoHive is doing a live read-off. (They also have commentary, including messages from the girls and reactions. Like Everyone is mad Tomomoi is #8)

But I feel so conflicted about Acchan and Yuko. Yuko is my other oshi, but Acchan is the ace and I want her to be #1. Hmm......

Ah what the heck I'll do it now.

No, not KII. KII is from SKE48, and they are already a team. This team is KKS. Kenkyuusei, research students, like H!P eggs. Team 4 is basically that whole bunch of 9th generation (and 2 10th gen) KKS that got promoted a while back, and weren't given teams for months. Because usually when a girl is promoted, she is immediately given a Team. But there are 10 of these girls with no teams. A, K, and B are all full. 16 members each. 16+16+16=48. So then Aki-P (AKB's Tsunku) made a new Team for them. Team 4.

I was looking forward to them going to letter Teams though...

Poor Moeno, the eternal Undergirl despite all self-promotion she was doing recently. As little as I care I'd like to see things shaken up a bit more, because apart from an occasional shuffle by a 2 or 3 spots up or down the lineups hardly ever change. Kinda strange, considering how there are no sharp drops in the number of votes other than after the top 2 spots.

^No, for being Moeno her ranking is actually pretty good.

Actually is was shaken up a bit this year. Akicha and Sasshi in media senbatsu. Jurina and Tomo~mi out. Which is a big thing. And Tomochin fell by 4 places. Which is big for when you go from 4 to 8, considering there's a gigantic gap in the votes.

Oh and Ume-chan is UG center, and Churi ranked high. Plus NMB's Sayamina at 28. A lot of new girls have entered this year.

And there are no drops in voting because the number of votes made increased this year by a ton.

Last year #1 got 31448 votes. This year #12 got 31009 votes. More people are voting. And #1 was 139892. Way more votes made this year.

Shows how much I know/care really. But Moeno fell by 2 places so it's sad regardless.

I did notice that the absolute number of votes has increased massively. I just meant that while there is a ~45% drop in the number of voted between 1-2 and 3, the number of voted only drops by 1-10% as you go down from 3 to 40. I expected that there would be more easily distinguishable leaders than just 2, and that there would be more easily distinguishable "popularity" groups. The way it is now, the line drawn between the groups is purely bureaucratic.

Well there is kind of. There's the top 3. Then there's Kami 7. Then media senbastu. Then lower senbatsu. I guess. Because the gaps between some of these girls, is really big.

Yukirin went from 8th to 3rd and gained a massive amount of votes and also got into Kami 7, and the Top 3.

Yeah, but she only dropped one place this year. She went from #16-->#14-->#15. Take out SKE's Rena and she'd be 14 again. Take out W Matsui from SKE from the last election and she would've been #12. She's like upper lower senbatsu, because after the election single which is 1-21, the other singles are usually 1-16 only.

She's popular though~ Even if she's not in media senbatsu, she still makes a lot of media appearances. And she's always in senbatsu with singles and all that.

I'm happy enough for Moeno. I was worried she wouldn't rank with how many more girls there are each election. I guess in the end, it's still AKB girls most popular, at least for now!

And WTF at the DIVA girls like Umechan and Masuda Yuka ranking so much higher suddenly. I guess being in a subgroup really helps...

I feel most sad for Myao (Miyazaki Miho), she used to be regular senbatsu and praised for being the cute noob. She ranks lower and lower every time. Didn't want to quote to next thread, but I love all those songs too, berry.

The only AKB members I know/care about made it into the top list so I'm happy. Actually, so long as Takahashi Minami still releases stuff with no3b/solo tracks under them IDGAF about AKB senbatsu. I really don't like the fandoms at Stage48 or Klubhouse so I only have the music to go off of and the various posts in this thread hahaha. That ugly chick on the pencilboard I got with their best album awhile back is number five. How? She ugly. (Wait, can we not call idols ugly anymore?) She's not cute then. Moeno is way cuter than her, and that's basing it off Berry's various avatars/sigs. Then again, if this is media appearances maybe she's funny or something. I don't understand the appeal that pencil board is under my cat's litterbox now D:

No, out of all of AKB she is quite high in my ranking. Like #10 or something, and that's including all the 48 groups. And while I like everyone, I do have my clear favorites, and girls I don't really like as much, or don't pay attention too.

I even almost became a Mayuyu oshi when I first got into AKB.

ARGH I'm angry at this Senbatsu! Acchan is center of everything, I wanted Yuko go get it again. Takamina (my oshi) dropping to 7 was like a slug to my stomach, she does a lot for AKB48 and yet can't get that top spot. Akimoto said that Takamina is AKB so people should have voted for her <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' />.

I'm happy that Fresh Lemon ranked and that Yui got into senbatsu! Her speech was really emotional and she tried to troll us but you could tell she really was that happy. Umechan getting to be center of UG is a big deal as well! Also, Rena beating Jurina? Miichan....I'm so sad she wasn't able to make it to media this year...But even people who didn't vote her have been saying they wanted her to make it into media senbatsu, so I know she is supported and well liked by others at least. I wish I could have voted for her more...

There's other forums. Like the recently started Everyday48 which broke off from Stage48 because they didn't like how things were happening there.

A real estate agent in Sapporo explained, “AKB48 staff members have recently been coming to look for real estate.” The staff expressed interest in looking for some space to build an exclusive theater. If they find what they need, it seems they could be looking for members by next year.AKB48 currently has regional sister groups: SKE48 and NMB48. SKE48 was created in 2008 and performs at their theater, “SUNSHINE STUDIO”, in Sakae, Nagoya. NMB48 was created in 2010 and performs in Namba, Osaka at “base yoshimoto”. Both groups have acquired a passionate fan base in their select regions.

Just last month, auditions for Hakata, Fukuoka based sister group “HKT48” began, and this fall the group is planning to start up activities. AKB48 producer Akimoto Yasushi is in charge of all the 48-groups and is certainly making “local-48s” everywhere.

For this new Sapporo based group, team names like “HKD48” (Hokkaido) and “DSK48” (Dosanko) seem very probable. The theatre location name is also likely “SSK48” (Susukino).

This will truly become a “National Idol Project”, with groups from Hokkaido all the way down to Kyushu. Look forward to the “4th Senbatsu General Election” next year, with a whirlwind blowing in from the north.

Somehow these senbatsu rankings or whatever are really fascinating to me. I can't believe how emotional the girls get, it's wild. I watched most of last year's and this year's and, well.. I wish Yuko would get number one again. I do not like Maeda Atsuko. What a complete bitchface when she got second place last year. Yuko just seems a lot more gracious overall. So, yeah.

Shocked Itano got 8th. Thought she'd be like 3 with her solo material and all.

I think Maeda got more general public vote by casual fans since she's like the face of AKB48. She did a lot of promoting of herself this month, what with all the magazines she was on the cover of and now her Solo debut coming out and lets not forgot television and media. The girl is everywhere.

I would have liked to see someone else be top, I really can't understand the appeal of Maeda.

I really really like Acchan and am glad she got her #1 spot back. The appeal of Acchan is that she is just a normal girl. She may looked bored sometimes, but when she really laughs she has a nice smile. Acchan did not get to #1 just by casual fans with the amount of votes she had (like 133,000). She has her wotas too. "As one AKB fan forum member put it, Yuko has too much star power so when she's center, the focus is really on her. Acchan is just kind of just...there (partly cause she's been center forever), so other members can still shine even when she's around." Acchan is stoic and has and has a star aura which draws people to her, as put by others from the Japanese entertainment world, and has the feeling of "professional".

The reason for that is because Acchan was actually kind of relieved to have the pressure of being #1 taken off her last year. I mean this is a girl who didn't even want to be center in the first place, in the beginning of AKB she cried because she was center and it would make her hated. Also because of course she would be frustrated, being #2 means she wasn't good enough that year. All the girls who drop rank look either frustrated or for UG they cry like usual. Someone who went to the elections said it was scary to watch Jurina, who fell out of media senbatsu, in her seat afterwards because you could tell how frustrated she was. If you notice Yuko had the same kind of face this year, I'm sure she wanted to be #1 again. Not all girls cry when they go up, Yuko didn't this year. I can get why they wouldn't want to cry after getting second.

But this year you can really see how Acchan really appreciates her fans and loves AKB.

Plus you guys have never seen AKB on TV shows right? Before you go hating the girls you should go find out more about them first at least. Like you could say the same thing about Mayu's speech last year, but you can tell all the girls are more ready for the elections this year, and have grown more from last year.

And please excuse me, I just woke up, and rereading this, the grammar looks weird or something, and I keep leaving words out or spelling them wrong.

I really think it's fair to dislike them based on whatever though... These are idols. You can dislike them purely on them being ugly or just being THERE. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> And to be truthful, I never watch H!P shows even during their prime. I just don't care. Sure, you can correct people's interpretations especially since a lot of us don't understand Japanese, but it might not change our opinions still!

I used to be an Acchan fangirl (along with Takamaina) because I just didn't know the other girls. Now that I've gotten to know the others I wish that she'd just go away.
