I feel bad saying this because I'm really happy to see YOU participate in a discussion like this, but:

I don't really like this idea because then people are just using blog!project as a intermediate site. Eventually they may not even come to b!p anymore. And b!p kind of loses some unity. From personal experience, I mean if you have me go on a different site, I'd easily get distracted and may not return to b!p. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> I'd be more OK if posts were on blog!project and they didn't go to others' sites. But translators from other sites probably wouldn't like this idea even if linked with credit.



Thanks for researching those plugins, kira and eri. I think the only one that works in our interest in RSS poster. Cross-poster would only be a site under our network.



Sooooo... if you guys really want this done, then you guys have to start asking translators if we can post their translations on our blog. I'll be testing the plugin in the mean time.

And NO, it's not true, people only click the posts on the front page. Sorry I haven't been able to set up Google Analytics. It's just our bbs/ph hits are on there too and this is a secret for me. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> I'll put this on my To Do List too.



EDIT: Update on the plugin RSS poster

Works fine, but would still require some maintenance because of translation/post date. We did that in a custom way so this would need to be put in manually in custom fields, but all the post content and everything else would be automated.



HUGE UPDATE:

kira and eri, you guys bringing up that plugin was such a good idea. OMG, I never realized it, but I was thinking we could use it to automate the copy & pasting from the original blogs so translators wouldn't have to deal with that. And NO prepping would need to be done!!!!! And we may never again have to deal with emoticons too..

But it's still work in progress and may never work. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> I have to ask Zaeleus about it.

It's okay, I understand. I just think it's easier if there's one place to find all the blog translations, since some of them are really scattered (through H!O forums, on tumblr, on personal blogs, etc.) Also, I only really know of b!p for blog translations. If you can get the other translators to agree to let their posts show up on b!p, that would be good <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... joyful.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':joyful:' /> but I don't know if they'd agree to it.

It could be joined with PH/Data Station, but then potential translators can't see that section. I just thought it'd be better in H!P Chat where potential translators could see how we work.

Hey, Wordpress has been ridiculously slow this morning for me. I checked with a friend and got an answer, in case anyone else is curious or runs across it. It's literally a pressure point, but it's used metaphorically/colloquially to refer to someone's "buttons" or "weak spots" - as in "That hits all the right buttons" or "I have a weak spot for ___."

I need to do more testing, but it should be easy to find something for Nacchi's blog since there aren't a billion emoticons. I need to look for more plugins. RSSposter worked well except that it hotlinks all pictures in the post. I found another plugin that works well except it's not grabbing the pictures correctly. So I just wanna find something that requires least amount of maintenance on our part.



I may hire a developer to build us a custom plugin because it would really be soooooo much easier. I'm trying to get the plugin to grab everything from the RSS feeds automatically as they are updated and also! to convert emoticons into the short codes automatically.

Hey all... Sorry, I've totally fallen behind on Aichan's blog again. My cousin is getting married this coming weekend, and there's been a load of prep for visitors who are coming in from out of town, dress shopping, dance learning (my cousin's and I will be doing a flash mob at the reception, thus choreography to be learned. XD), etc.



This summer is just absolutely insane for me as 2 weekends in August, I'll also be camping and another weekend I'll be out of town. I'll try to get what translations I can in when I have time, but if anyone wants to take some Aichan posts in between, feel free.
