You know there was a Edgeworth game that was released in Japan recently? Capcom is not going to bring over to the US because they say it wouldn't be worth spending the money to localize. This really pisses me off and finalizes my disdain for Capcom. They are making so many poor decisions in the last few years. Yes, obviously Street Fighter IV needs 25 versions because people will throw their money at it no matter what, but god forbid they lose a little money on a handheld game. They are systematically destroying gamers' goodwill.
You forgot about canceling Mega Man Legends 3.

It is quite sad, but I don't think it's unreasonable for a company to focus on what makes money. Capcom has taken risks in the past and they deserve a little credit for that.
What the fish? There was Mega Man Legends 3? Now I feel sad.

And if I recall, there was a crossover between Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Starforce.

I think it's Rockman EXE: Operation Shooting Star. There was no US version for it too... <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' />
And let's not forget Mega Man Universe. And the Resident Evil Mercenaries can't-ever-erase-your-game-save-or-high-score-ever-ever-forever-ever.
No more, no more. My heart is in pain. So many releases in Japan but not all made it around the world.

And it is not so easy getting those here in Malaysia... <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /noway.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':noway:' />

I think nobody ever played games on their PSP. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... lesson.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lesson:' />

I played some Tropico 4, which just came out today, and I have to say the game's atmosphere took a huge hit. Sure, the new characters are fun, but the graphics are a lot worse than T3. In nearly every single way. So much actually, that it looks downright ugly at times, which is a real shame since T3 looked very pretty.

I'm not going to buy it until they release a patch that fixes this crap.

Guess, we'll have to wait for the Vita. I think most of the newer titles will be there. Heard that it will be cheap and hoping that it will be that way when it arrives. And am very interested in Nintendo 3DS but so far complaints about weak battery life. Am just interested in the new Zelda title there.

Depending on what you think is "cheap"; 250€/$.

Since I'm absolutely not into handhelds, I personally think that's way too much for one per se. But I have to say it delivers some nice hardware for that price.

The 3DS has no game.

Ugh, I didn't know they weren't even planning on localizing the Phoenix Wright / Layton crossover game either. Whoever is running Capcom (either the JPN or any of their international branches) has completely lost their minds. A company that only focuses on money very quickly loses its consumers' trust. No amount of "good deeds" from the past can overcome this kind of greed and utter mismanagement, they need to get their act together.

Also, I hear there's a new 3DS model in the pipeline, that will de-emphasize the 3D part. So it's basically going to be a Not-As-3DS. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hatthe.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whatthe:' /> Not sure what Nintendo's really doing anymore.

Unfortunately, the old key demographics of gamers from, say, 6 or 7 years ago has changed. I'm not blaming any new fans or anything for this, but the focus on the casual market has completely overshadowed the artistic integrity of many a company. The industry has been out-performing any other entertainment industry for years now and many companies just want to make money now, and they're willing to sacrifice quality for time. It doesn't help that the gaming news...osphere are similarly money-centric regurgitation machines. Desperate for any headline at all, the outlets will jump on any non-story just to have new posts every 20 minutes. This means stricter deadlines for the artistic types, a square focus on the bottom line for the suits, and the news blog circle standing under the entire thing waiting for any slip up.

Oh wait, I thought the DSi was supposed to be the newest DS.

No wait, it's the 3DS cuz 3D movies are popular amirite?

NO WAIT it's cell phones games look at shiny no 3D I mean, there is 3D but there's not 3D.

Yeah, Nintendo totally dropped the ball.

I can't get excited about this new generation of handhelds at all. :( And since 90% of my gaming is done on them, this makes me sad. I'm tired of gimmicks getting into games.

AND FOR FUCK'S SAKE GET THOSE GOD DAMN FINGER TOUCH CELL PHONE GAMES OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MINDSET GAME COMPANIES! BUTTONS AND STYLUS FO' LYFE!

Oh, and I'm playing Dead Nation off and on with my bro and/or bf. It reminds me of Zombies Ate My Neighbors without the camp. I miss the camp, but eh, it's an okay time waster. I'm annoyed how they only play with the rifle and don't try to mix things up with the other guns (even though they upgrade them lolol) or items. Anyway, local co-op>online co-op.

@Ap2000 - Well, I really have no idea how much we will be paying. Our country's tax is the killer here. I am guessing USD249 and USD299 will be around RM800++ and RM900++ here. And including our country's tax, the Vita will be around RM1,000++ and RM1,200++? Just a super rough figure. And with that kind of money spent, I can get five Nike Shoes or have a whole month of decent meals. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' />

I just hate tax. Games are also expensive; between RM50 to RM189.... Great.

Anyway, what about the WiiU? After its introduction, Nintendo's shares dropped! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

As for the 3DS, I guess, we'll just have to wait. I am not willing to spend my money for it yet. And I really hope they stop remaking old games. Some of it is fine but not every damn thing. I don't think we need another Final Fantasy 1 & 2 remake!

Current game: Still Valkyrie 2 on PSP. I suck at strategy games. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Playing some danged Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I'm really liking it, but a few hours in, I'm getting a strong Invisible Wars/Vampire:The Masquerade Bloodlines feel. Once you get into the legit storyline missions, that feel wanes a little. I'm playing a no-kill character right now, but I have the urge to keep lethal weapons around, but that eats up all of my spaces. I suppose that there is a non-linear fashion to the level design at some junctions, but there are a lot of points that all players will have to go through. This is kind of worrisome because I feel like there's a lot of wasted space. The augmentations are really executed well, though the amount of choice given to you is daunting. The gunplay I've engaged in is actually kind of difficult. There's not a whole lot of ammo (or at least I don't keep a lot) and I feel like the clips empty pretty fast. Then again, the stun/tranq guns shoot small clips or one-shot reloads pretty slowly.

The story's a little fast moving and it feels thin when you play it slow going through subquests. The small introductory section of the game is not establishing. One of the plot points at the very beginning of the game has no impact because you spend that entire time learning how to play. I feel like the pointless on-rail intro is just weak enough to be a waste of time, but is one of the only chances for you to even try and connect with Adam. Your relationships, status, and position are all supposed to be conveyed in this one sequence, but they very barely are. I'd say that's my only real gripe so far.

I never asked for this and it certainly isn't what I expected, but it's pretty nice.

DX:HR is the best game this (console) generation (I'm mainly a PC player) so far.

This, to some people, over-hyped re-cut of trailers explains it pretty well:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThAXGdZZ59c

I also think the original Deus Ex is the best PC game ever created, so this might seem rather biased.

I really hope eidos/S-E is going to make a sequel of some sort, since this franchise obviously deserves to get more entries in the series and it seems the name is in good hands and Eidos Montreal can build upon this.

I've succesfully stayed away from my favourite gaming board since about the 21st and haven't played the leaked beta.

All I knew about was the involvement of the Illuminati with one of the companies. But it's a DX game, so of course they play some kind of role, though I don't know if it's tiny or huge, so this wasn't a real spoiler.

I'm at 34h now (~2h of idling/afk included) and I'm still not finished.

I'd highly suggest you play without takedowns, since they make the game waaay too easy. Also, definitely play on the highest difficulty setting. If you're like me and are absolutely disgusted by regenerating health/energy, then you might want to play it without using the first battery, since that one always recharges and is like a cheat for the cloaking aug.

EDIT:

Though it is not as complex as the original DX (hacking is insanely over-powered in HR), HR is certainly more complex than any corridor-shooter since DX1. Especially if you take into mind such disappointing mindless shooters like Mass Effect 2. DX:HR is the perfect mixture between shooting mechanics and RPG feeling.

FFFFFuuuuuuuu I just read about this. WTF are they thinking. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nfused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> There's a massive thread about this on the Capcom forum. If they don't get a clue from it, I wish pox on them and their children to the 10th generation. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... dammit.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' /> In the meantime, I guess we'll have to wait for a fan translation...

From what I read elsewhere the "decreased emphasis on 3D" will simply mean that they will allow to release pure-2D games as well... Or something like that. The 3D technology as it is will stay.

I'd love to get me a 3DS but so far I didn't even get to try one IRL because none of the damn game shops around have a display model! And I didn't travel around enough in the last year to grab one at an airport. Then again, the poor battery life is a deal breaker for me. I think it is for many people as well, hence the poor sales. That, and people remembering what a vast improvement the DS Lite was over the original, and simply holding back until the redesign comes out. I think the big N might have shot itself in the foot with that, so lets hope it lives up to its own screw-up.

I'm calling you ARU from now on. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... joyful.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':joyful:' />

I got the PS3 version because that's the version my bro got. He said he didn't want to pay for Live again. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Why no one else geeetttt ;_; Maybe I'll get the 360 version on the cheap or PC if I have a cool enough PC by then. It's probably the first FPS-like game I've played and liked/played well enough to actually enjoy. I still have to master this "move around while keeping aim on things" instead of "stand around and hit the zombies while they hoard around you"

I had major problems/bugs/glitches today with it. First my bro didn't get the reward for completing a quest, then my connection kept locking up/freezing. We restarted playing 4 times before I said fuck it let's play again tonight. :| But tbh my internet connection is always spotty. Once the ISP thinks you're streaming too much/downloading too quickly and whatnot it'll boot you. I've argued so many times with them over this. If I pay for speed then I want freaking speed and I want it consistantly! It's not my fault some people don't know how to use what they pay for. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... dammit.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' /> I'm happy I can play it with my bro though. We haven't had a chance to hang out as often as we used to and now we can play together whenever.

edit - has anyone done the "find the plane in the jungle" quest? Where is that flipping plaaaannneeee! D:

That's even more unfortunate, since the 360 version got a patch on release date that fixed most of the major bugs, but PC and PS3 versions didn't get it, from what I understand. Most people in this great continent of ours, which happens to be the biggest one on our globe aside from the one where Russia and the Middle East take up 75% of it, play games on 360, so that's why most people don't get things for it. And this is why most games get this kind of favor for patches/updates, is because most people play it on that system. They probably based the decision on pre-orders and stuff, which were surely much higher on 360.

Jesus Christ that's a lot of fanboyism in one post.

edit - let me elaborate: my motto this gen for consoles has been "if the game is from america, american console. if the game is from japan, japanese console." So yeah, I would've normally gotten the 360 version, but my main reason for getting it - playing with my brother - dictated the PS3 version. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' />

Double edit -

I googled the patch, and it looks like all three platforms got it. Looks like those not in the GREATEST 360 WORLD got one too. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... smooch.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='=3=' />

And...

I wasn't just basing it on a bunch of fanboyism, I was reading reports on sites and from friends who actually bought the PC and PS3 versions who complained that they didn't have any patch yet. Guess its gone up since then, and that's great. And I also base talk about sales numbers on, you know, real data.. And in the US, 360 versions of multi-platform games almost always perform better, as historical data shows.
