I'm 18 and just graduated from high school... I have many mistakes in english but I try my best to write as clear as possible. And I'm not native in english - I'm native in hebrew...

And on topic - as Aika wasn't on the concert, we haven't heard a group song with her, is there any one with her?

I tought there will be a trio of Erina, Kanon & Aika or something.

I've seen a lot of people guessing that Kaiketsu Positive A might be an Aika/Eripon/Zukki song since it's right after the other two group songs.

I just noticed that track 1 is (possibly) in reference to the very first 5th gen line, "ai wo kudasai".

Kaiketsu Positive A, could that be a reference to Ai's bloodtype?

I don't see any other connections worth mentioning. Yeah, some titles contain the word "Ai", happens all the time.

3 is Silver no Udedokei, so apparently it's not just Risa/Reina/Riho. Aika is there too, and they just modified it for the concert. Maybe she shares the rapping with Risa?

And Otome no Timing is now confirmed Aika/Eripon/Zukki. Kaiketsu Positive A is a group song.

Is it Give Me Love or Give Me Ai? Either way, it's totally 09 Emo-Musume style. I wonder if they'll ditch that now that most of the group are young.

OK YEAH! is cool.

And knowing that these are the last songs with Ai and that it's going to be a Reina/Riho fest from now on saddens and scares me. It's going to be awful. I didn't think I would miss Ai until I realized this.

The first part = love.

Second part = my goodness RIHO AND THE SECOND PERSON WHO IS KIND OF MAIN BETTER NEVER DO THAT WHINING AGAIN.

It made my cringe the fist time I herd it.

Last part is cool though. The middle kinda ruins it for me but I'll get over it.

I was seriously digging it until that part you were talking about. I'm not sure if that first person was Riho, but those two parts were painful.

Sounded like either Mizuki or Kanon that did that thing after Riho, but I'm not positive A. Because neither one of them sing nearly enough for me to spot their voices yet. I also didn't hear either Erina or Aika, but I'm sure they sang somewhere. Also two people whose voices I can never make out due to their lack of singing. I heard everyone else.

I think I heard Aika in there. She's a bit harder to pick out when she's using her regular voice and not her cute one, but I'm pretty sure I heard her somewhere.

HQ Suki Da Kimi Ga The Sayumi/Mizuki duet. I'd say the main difference between this and the concert rip is that some parts are more heavy on Sayumi. And it's more awesome.

Okay my opinions:

Silver no Udedokei: A ballad with reina I can manage, but riho? please stop this!! Risa's rap is love and aika rap is like how my grandma raps if she would rap, and she is 76... a track i would skip any time..

OK yeah: An amazing track - I loved every single thing about it - even riho sound greay - give her only upbeat things!!! The parapara style is so morning musume, please do a parapara single!! the chrous is so addictive!!! probably the best track in the album!

Suki da kimi ga: of course every sayumi duet will automaticly will be rainbow pink kind of felling, and this is probably the best sayumi duet track out there - not the best in the album, but good - only down is that sayumi is overpowering mizuki to much!

My way: this resamble so many songs done by morning musume already, someone sound alot like junjun (I think it's kanon) a very good track overall, everyone get solo lines which is always a good track, the chrous is a bit boring and too long... the verses are very nice.

Kono ai wo kasanete: A very cute song it has a nostalgic sound to it, both niigaki and takahashi sound amazing, I liked the fact the harmonies in this are not a track ones. a very nice song, but it get a little boring at times...

Keikestu positive A: I don't really like this one, there are nice vocals from most of the older girls, but it's still not a very good track... Riho sound pretty much horrible on this track, while mizuki sound very nice indeed...

Give me love: all I remember from this song which I heard like two days ago is GIVE ME LOVE & GIVE ME LOVE... too much... A usual emo momusu, it's very much on Ai and when I hear this I think of a upbeat nanchatte renai in terms of instrumental but not as good track overall compared to NR (which I really love) a still good track overall...

I didn't heard any of the concerts version so it's based only on the radio rips.

Overall opinion: this album has some very good tracks, combinend with the double a-side this album is very good overall.

Ranking of new tracks:

1. Ok yeah - the best track in the album, even better than most of the singles if not all.

2. Give me love

I thought everyone sounded nice on Otome no Timing even though it's pretty generic. Zukki's voice sounds great on cd (it's very soothing), even though she's kind of wonky live.

It's probable that the album was originally supposed to come out around or a little before her graduation, but got pushed back because of the earthquakes.

Don't forget, the double single only debuted 2 weeks before your proposed date for the album. They would seriously risk single sales if they did that, and it's sad to say, but Chikyuu/Kare are probably some of the highest sales MM will see for a while, if Ai's fans leave with her.

I don't think it's nearly as awkward as Pucchi Best 10 containing Nacchi's Screen which was released about a year before. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> Wow, the release date was one day short! 2008.12.3 for Screen, 2009.12.2 for Pucchi Best 10. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' />

Al's point about the earthquake delays makes me think that Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai! became the 2nd A side because they ran out of time. Maybe they wanted it to be regular single originally.

Suki Da Kimi Ga is clearly the best song by far LOL I'm serious. It's so catchy. Sounds like something Perfume might release.

Reina sounded really nice in Silver no Udedokei. Riho sounded atrocious. But I guess when you put a 21 year old and 13 year old together, their voices may not necessarily blend well. I think I might be able to deal with hearing more Reina in songs AS LONG AS SHE DOESN'T WHINE. Riho seems to have assumed the whiny-voice role.

OK Yeah and My Way are also pretty decent as well. So far, this album sounds much better than the 11th...

I'm probably one of the few lonesome people who actually enjoyed the 11th album. I'd probably put this right under it, but still above the 6th album and the 8th album (I personally consider the 8th album to be the worst Morning Musume album yet).

Also, in the few parts she gets to sing, I'm really impressed with how Zukki sounds. I hope she can eventually get to the point where she sounds nice live too, since she mostly just yells right now. But Risako was a big yeller too back when she was young if I recall correctly (I might be thinking of someone else), so maybe they can train it out of Zukki.

01.Give Me Ai: When I listen to this, I have the strange urge to punch lightbulbs, flower pots & the occasional barrel. Forget the Ame no Furanai piano melody in the intro, this is absurdly close to the Karate stage 2 music in Minna no Rhythm Tengoku! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... lleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rolleyes:' /> Mr."Let's just cut & paste Genki PikaPika into Seishun Collection" strikes again. However, I do think that Okubo cloned a better song this time, and Kanashimi no Squall has 2 versions, so it's slightly less of a cheap move. Wait, I think someone else arranged the other version.

02.Only you: It at least blends with the surrounding album tracks. The 1st 4 tracks on this are arranged by Okubo Kaoru, not to mention Kare to Issho & OK YEAH!

03.Shiver me timbers!! Udedokei, Arr!: They got U.M.E.D.Y (RR21) to arrange the rap, I guess his voice is in this at some parts too, unless it's all Tsunku. This seems like a redone version of Reina's solo from last album. The rapping keeps it unique. The song style + Reina + Riho's kid voice = flashback to Aa!. Risa and someone else unpopular doing the rapping = flashback to 7Air. Okubo is less predictable with this song.

04.Suki da na Kimi ga: I love this one! The part of the melody that includes the title makes me think of Perfume's Edge, only this is a gentler song. The voices work really well together, maybe too well. I know how Sayumi sounds, so it's even harder to identify Mizuki. I love the robotic paused syllable parts. I think there's some English lyrics behind those subtle digital voices. The sort of 8-bit instrument break was cool and very YMCK. It's been a billion years but I'm still gonna say it. "It would have been cool to see W do this song!" I know H!P is all about giant groups right now, but I'd love another duo group in H!P.

05.Kaiketsu Positive A: This is one of their better attempts at a brass heavy song. This would have been good for Lin Lin, not that Osaka thing they stuck her with. It's also very Muten Musume. Sayumi surprised me with her lines, in a good way. The guitar solo and brass part is cool. Wait, did the ghost of Jun Jun possess Kanon? They're definitely singing "Positive Ass". <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

06.Kono Ai wo Kasanete: Now time for the obligatory slow R&B AKIRA song. It's cool and the acoustic guitar is really nice. This is a song that I'll probably appreciate more and more over time, it's slowly drawing me in. Is there a subliminal reference to Kono Chikyuu no Heiwa's title in the lyrics.

07&08 Double A side: A startling contrast in energy from the laid back sound of Kono Ai wo Kasanete.

09. My Way ~Joshikou Hanamichi~: I like the electronic, sort of mechanical energy in this. The melody of the chorus is a bit ...done to death, and it's trying hard to be Buono. 2:39-Someone please see if Sayumi is alright, that sounded serious.

10.Otome no Timing: It's cute, but it sounds like a bad version of Tanpopo, and that's basically s/mileage, and I kinda like the other Kanon more. It'll probably grow on me in a month or so, but it isn't happening now. I am glad that they didn't associate Mizuki or Riho with this song. No wonder there was no rush to preview it live or on the radio. They should have made it more fun and electronic. Not looking forward to when they do this live and probably add more new girls to it.

11.OK YEAH!: I like when the Sayumi button on the synthesizer got stuck and they just got someone to rap over it. I don't mind the signature Okubo sound in this, I liked how it was used in Motto Aishite Hoshii no, and it works here too. I think this would have made a dramatic punch in the face album opener. The way they end this song is kind of disappointing, it just runs out of steam.

12.Maji desu ka SKA: This works well as a final song because the noisy cheering & clapping at the end give it an ending performance type of effect.

Over, this is probably the most energetic album they've had yet, kind of shocking. I like all of this album except for Otome no Timing. Top tracks:

I haven't bought the album yet, no monies for awhile. But I fully intend too.

01.Give Me : This is the opening song? I think I got spoiled with Moonlight Night. I kinda don't like Riho's singing in this. It also sounds like 100 different H!P songs. And for that reason I don't like it as much as I want to.

03.Silver no Okeydokey!: I liked this song when I first heard it. I think Aika sounds the best she's ever sounded. Deep voice suits her, she needs to do it more. Just let her rap everything and it'll be great.

04.Suki da na Kimi ga: You really can't hear Mizuki. Makes me think they just added Mizuki has a cover for future Sayumi lead singles since they were losing Takahashi as cover.

05.Kaiketsu Positive A: I really didn't care for this song. It sounded like they were saying Positive S to me. Hearing this on speakers has a different experience then hearing it on my headphones. I'd like to see the color code on this, because for the life of me I can't tell Mizuki, Erina, Kanon and Aika apart. But I agree that Kanon pulled a JunJun.

06.Kono Ai wo Kasanete: It's so forgettable, I forgot I even listened to it to begin with and then had to make this review I had to listen to it again. But I guess every MM album needs a forgettable slow song and unfortunately it had to be this one. It would have sounded awesome live I'm sure. As nice as Takahashi's voice is, I just wasn't feeling it. It was like she phoned it in on a disposable cellphone. Dare I say, Risa sounded better? D: Anyway, boring. Needed more punch.

09. My Way ~Joshikou Hanamichi~: Best opening. Vocals kinda make it fall flat. This song needs some growling. Sayumi's line made this song for me. It was epic!

10.Otome no Timing: This reminds me of the last Aika song on the last album. I see no difference, they just replaced JunLin with Kanon and Erina.

11.OK YEAH!: It reminded me of Minimoni's A~in! I was expecting Baka Tonosama to come out at any moment and scream A~IN! I do love Para Para, so it was a good end, but I agree it probably should have been put near the beginning.

Overall, I like the first albums when newbies join because you get to finally hear them sing and it's easier to spot them in future singles. Riho, still needs a lot of work, but she'll get there. Mizuki is the new backcover girl. Erina and Kanon still need work for sure, but they have great potential. And that's because if anyone can sound better then Koharu, that's bonus.

After all is said and done, not a favorite album though a lot of songs I liked. It's above 11 and 5 for me.

My favorite songs in no order, #3 Silver (I want to hear this again in a few years once Riho has matured, it'll be such an awesome song. And maybe a H!P version. Please?), #4 Suki, Second time in a year I've surprised myself and liked a song sung by Sayumi. I guess they finally figured out a good way to work out weak voices. Thank you! and #9 My Way. Sayumi's line made it a win. Honorable mention to OK YEAH for the para para angle. I'm a sucker for the Para para.

01: WTF happened to the great openers? PSCHT, is this what MM will be? Song's not bad but not worthy of a MM album opener.

02. I liked this single. Go ahead and come at me bro!

03. WHY WON'T THIS SONG END ARGH THE INSTRUMENTAL IS NOT EVEN INTERESTING. Oh you trolling jerkface going and creating a false ending. Oh, and Reina is now on my vocal shitlist. I thought it was one of the noobs before I checked the data station and saw who was wrecking my ears.

04. It's okay.

05. FINALLY A SONG I CAN GET BEHIND.

06. Oh, we have two of the best singers in the group, one of which is leaving? Look at this shit song, it's PERFECT for them! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... dammit.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' />

07. This is the song that never ends, it goes on and on my friend Takahashi was leaving and we couldn't say goodbye

Final Thoughts:

What I wanted was an album of songs like their amazing b-sides.

We have a lot of LONG songs on this album.

It's an okay album. There were only one two songs I truly disliked which makes it a decent album by my standards. Too bad it couldn't be as great as it should've been. :|

I'm yet to hear it not as a background music to the house chores, but from what I've heard it's rather bland and uninteresting and the few songs that were pointed out to me failed to impress. Nothing really jumped out on me or caught my attention, other than the single tracks I'm already familiar with by repetition. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sad:' /> But I may change my opinion fully once I get a chance to give it a proper listen.

My album came in the mail today! But sadly somehow both this album and my Kikka single were really damaged :( Both cases are broken to the point that the face falls right off. Somehow the third CD in the package is fine though. This has only happened one other time to me, but ugh <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /sleep.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='-_-' />

Anyway, my thoughts:

Give me Love - I love this song. I don't know why they decided to give Sayu one of those "whooAAAA" lines, that's the only negative point for me. I also probably wouldn't have used this as an album opener - OK YEAH has more punch.

Silver no Udedokei - I feel like this is trying to be a combination of Indigo Blue Love and Take Off is Now and it's falling way short of both. I don't think Riho is a bad singer, but this song is beyond her current abilities and her voice doesn't fit.

Suki da na Kimi ga - This is ridiculously adorable. I can't pick out Mizuki at all, but it's heavily edited and we never hear her to get an idea of what she sounds like. What I do know is that she doesn't sound bad - this has all the adorable of Rainbow Pink without the ear rape.

Kaiketsu Positive A - Tsunku, stop running through my headphones and making creepy noises. Also, whoever it is at UFA that decides who gets to sing when, stop giving hard parts to the weaker singers. I think half the reason some of these girls come off as such bad singers is that they're given parts that don't match their voice. Rika wasn't a good singer, but they never made her belt out a line like the ones Riho and Aika get in this song. Those things aside, the song itself is fun.

Kono Ai wo Kasanete - Snorefest. These two deserve better.

My Way ~Joshikou Kado~ - This is one of those songs that I think will always be better live. It's one of those "all together now" type pump up the audience songs. A new concert-ender, or second to last type song. It's a little boring on CD though, pretty repetative. And somehow Sayu's "kibishiiiiiiii" sounded less painful live. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

Otome no Timing - Oh hey, a reminder of why I hate Aika's. Stop doing the cutesy voice, it makes you sound 10x worse. I know this is a cutesy song, but there's a way to sing in that style that isn't completely grating. Kanon reminds me of a combination of Rika and JunJun here. Which means while she's not a strong singer, she sounds cute and isn't painful to listen to - in a song written to suit her voice, hint hint UFA. She actually sounds the best of the three here, by far. This could have been a Kanon solo and I would have loved it. Eripon still needs work, but isn't as painful to listen to as Aika.

OK YEAH! - This was my favorite of the new songs that I heard live. I love this song, it's really high energy and fun. I also like that everyone gets one of the "uuuuu" solo lines - except Aika and maybe Eripon? If so I'm okay with that. When they did this live everyone got a solo, minus of course Aika who wasn't there. It's a bit of a stretch for some of them, but not painful as parts of Kaiketsu. Okay, except the attack of RoboSayu. That's a little too much <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

Overall it's a pretty good album. A few great songs, a few good, and a few I could do without. That's about how I feel about almost every MM album save for Sexy 8 Beat which I almost entirely disliked. What they really need to do going forward with the 9th and 10th gen is write more songs suited to their voices. It was okay to do more challenging songs when they had Ai, Risa, Reina, Eri, and Miki to sing all the belted lines. Now they need to do some more songs along the lines of the 4th-5th gen era, things that make the Tsuji/Rika/Yossi/Mako/Konno/early-Gaki's of the group sound okay xD When these girls have more vocal training and a chance to mature a little, they can probably come back to this kind of stuff.
