You guys have been watching Akari's sit-com Urero Mikakunin Shoujo, right? It's about a production company who is trying to promote an idol group. Akari is a temp at the company. It started in October. The laugh track is annoying, but it's Akari.

Anyway, if you haven't been following, the company does form a group, and that group gets songs. The members of the group are named Momorin, Tamachan, Saaya, Catherine (the American), Golina, and Miss X. Except for the reluctant Miss X, they don't show up in the show except for pictures and audio snippets and ending themes.　They also provide the Next Episode narration. They also do a radio program.

Their name is Mekakunin Shoujo-tai UFI. Or Unidentified Fantastic Idol, if you prefer.

There isn't any real info yet, but a new single was announced: 猛烈宇宙交響曲・第七楽章「無限の愛」, made by Hyadain. And a b-side by somebody else! A guy named "NARASAKI", who wrote the first Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei opening, and that is awesome, so yeah. Not really much to go on. Apparently it's the OP and ED respectively of something called "Bodacious Space Pirates"? Sounds good <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

EDIT: Also I noticed that on the UFI single/EP thing there's two Santa-san remixes by none other than Taku from m-flo, as well as that NARASAKI guy.

In terms of MomoClo, he's the guy who made "Pinky Jones", the album track "Ame no Tachikara wo", and arranged "Mirai Bowl".

I know Maeyamada made "We Are UFI!!" but I don't know who made this one. This song is listed as a bonus for the DVD of the show, so I wonder if we'll get a better version there.

It's a recording from the concert. It was an amazing way to introduce a song for the first time. They had shiny space pirate outfits qand then like a 100-person chorus came and sang behind them. Then Marty Friedman came out to play guitar. He stayed on and they did a whole electric version of Ikuze. Anyway, I could talk for hours. There's a Christmas present in the audio section.

It's ok, petit, the bad quality didn't do the choral part justice.

I mean, it was only Maeyamada + choral backup + electric guitar, so there was no way anything in this world could be that awesome right?

Damn, that sounds amazing. DVD announcement now, please. I'm trying to be patient and wait for my copy of the Christmas CD to come but I don't think it will ship until after the New Year holiday... >.>

Damn it, I really want to explore MomoClo's music, but I really don't want to search around trying to find downloads for all of it, since I just did that for the 40 or so AKB-related singles I was missing about a month ago. My music-searching energy is worn out for a while. I've heard a few songs from them here and there, and nothing terribly caught my attention, but I'd still like to explore the options. Is there any place that anyone knows of that has most or all of their PVs readily available, or the audio CDs? Especially now if they're working with Friedman, that's just another thing that makes them a potential win in my book.

jpopsuki's got it all, if you have an account. You'll have to go to the Momoiro Clover and the Momoiro Clover Z pages to get all of it though since they split it up.

The titles of the Spring Concert have been announced. The first one is pretty much the same as the first one last year "MomoClo All Stars 2012". The second show is called 見渡せば大パノラマ地獄

Anyway, have you seen the video of spoilers to the Christmas concert? There's fire and electric guitars and stuff. It's gonna come out in April. Yay, for their first Blu-ray. Here are the space pirate outfits they are wearing during that song. I suppose they'll show in the PV that I want to see soon.

Every time I see something new from MomoClo it makes me think "COME ON H!P!!!" <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> I mean really, there is no way MomoClo has more money than Morning Musume, and look how much awesomeness they get even BEFORE you factor in their personalities and crazy style.

Anyway, I love both covers but I'm very happy to be getting Dark Side Reni. I hope there's an epic story version PV too, though I'd probably be just as happy even with the standard version judging by the preview.

I'm also once again amazed by the dramatic choir in the background. I don't know how MomoClo can continue topping each release with their next, but they're on a damn good streak. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /weeeh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':weeeh:' />

In honor of chat, the top list of good things this single has going for it:

In the battle of Pirates v Ninjas, Momoiro has proven Pirates are the worthy victors, as this single rocks so much harder than D no Junjou it's sad that Ninjas even thought they had a chance.
Captain Harlock-esque Kanako leading the two comic relief yet dependable Momoka and Shiroi to protect Ayaka from spurned arch-villian Reni -> when was the last time an idol group's cover also told a story?
GITAAA and chorus. They're really going for the epic feel here, and actually manage to achieve it. The full version of the a-side is nothing short of a tour de force.
It birthed the greatest tour title I have ever seen. Not even most Jrock bands have the balls to name their tour something like that. Idols, man, アイ.ド.ル. I guess they saw Babymetal and decided to spit in their face. (No, Babymetal should totally open for it)
The first costumes that are absolutely perfect.
They ride bikes across space (because they don't have driver's licenses yet? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />)
They looked Physics in the eye and said "Wani to Shampoo", therefore their bikes can shoot lasers.
The bikes can also travel at warp speed, if their solo shots are indicative of anything.

Hmm, I'm a little disappointed in the choreography. There is a loooot of walking around in a circle. Although I guess not every song can have their usual insane-energy choreography or they'd all be dead by the end of every concert.

The hand pose looks so funny with the gloves which seem to be oversized on every girl, but funny in a good way. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

I love Reni's evil voice for the spoken parts and her random scream in the middle.

I watched their Summer Concert which WAS live and the choreo was seriously wearing them out. I'm surprised they managed to sing at all.

... Visually, awesome. But I don't feel the guitar working at all with the girls singing. Perhaps I'd need to see the full thing to appreciate it more.
