Morning Musume's 50th Single "One•Two•Three/The Matenrou Show"

Re: Morning Musume's 50th Single "One•Two•Three/The Matenrou Show"
Haruna's hair is cute.
Someone did a cute image compilation from the live. I have reason to believe it was a Mizuki fan.
A huge gif of Eripon working it.
The dance could use some polishing. It's all over the place.

It must be on a really small scale, cause I didn't notice any stage presence from anyone at all except Reina stepping out in front every once in a while.

You may not like momusu anymore, that's fine.
It sounds like you will be hating on everything they do no matter what they do.
The interest in mm is always the improvement, did you even watch the 9th or 10th generation auditions??
Zukki and Masaki especially were terrible and now look at them, that's not really small scale, that HUGE MOTHER FUCKING GIANT LEAPS in progress!

Not that small. I haven;t paid attention to MM since Pyoko Pyoko back in February, and I remember how bad I thought Masaki was in the auditions at dancing and how Ayumi didn't stand out, and now I come back and can see noticeable improvement in some of the girls. I mean, Masaki can actually dance now!! Nowhere near as good as Riho, but much better than she was before.

This.
I was really worried about Morning Musume for a while, but after seeing this I find myself actually NOTICING all of them individually, after I originally saw them all as one huge clump of boring. I'm more interested in everyone that isn't Reina or Sayu more than ever. I love that they're all finally coming out of their shells and showing how dynamic they have become as a group.
Hell, I never would have thought Eripon would be the one in the 9th Gen to become a really hardcore performer, visual diva, and exciting personality despite her lack of singing ability. I bet nobody called that one! She was so impossibly awkward in the Maji Desu Ka Ska! PV, and even kind of blended into the background of their following singles up until Renai Hunter.
I just hope that this is the start of a new evolution for Morning Musume. I thought my world would end once Ai and Risa left, but I never could have expected that it would become the breath of fresh air the group probably needed. This performance is exactly what I wanted from the group, now lets see if it translates well in the PV.

These two were so bad they even had a small segment on BijoGaku and H!P Time showing how they were getting extra lessons just because of how bad they were. They've both gotten to the point where they probably don't even need them. Neither one seems to have trouble with the dances anymore. All they've got to do now is whip Haruna into shape.

So was there a radio rip released? Because this sounds much better then what's been floating around.
This is a place where a signature goes. Enjoy some Airi instead.

Agreed about the dance. Once they've had more practice, I think it will be even more amazing.
It doesn't seem that difficult, but with 10 girls on stage, how intricate can you make it without hurting someone (skill levels aside)?

I think that's actually part of the problem with the dance. There's a lot going on at once so it looks messy.

That sounds SO MUCH BETTER, I knew that I'd like it with a better quality rip. It's not the best song I've heard in a long time, but I do think it's almost in the league of Nanchatte and Resonant Blue (some of my favorite singles) that's going too far, I'd say it's the 3nd best song since 9th gen joined. It makes me want to dance.

QFT:
AEUG: sounds like generic k-pop
Al: ~Arya Stark~
Whoever said that it's not fair that the girls aren't equally represented since they are auto-tuned beyond recognition
It's weird how Masaki and Haruka are the same age yet groomed so differently.
I can't wait to hear the B-side!

I think it has been previously stated here that yes, it doesn't sound exactly like Kpop, its more of an amateur attempt at ripping off Kpop, which is already a ripoff of American music.

So in short; pop music is still pop music.

I thought the vocaloid comparison was more apt. I definitely get that vibe from it.

More accurately, pop music in Korea and the US follows certain formulas pretty strictly, and apparently Tsunku wants in on it. Other, much better idol groups don't have to sink to this level to keep the music interesting and stay relevant :(

This, too. Someone did a really in-depth analysis of this song on another forum (someone VERY well-versed in music theory and knowledge) and pointed out pretty much exactly which elements were taken directly from modern Kpop and which from American pop and did a very good job telling why neither of them were done well enough for this to pass as either very well. The vocaloid element is definitely there, but its pretty heavily mixed with the other stuff.I thought the vocaloid comparison was more apt. I definitely get that vibe from it.
Re: Morning Musume's 50th Single "One•Two•Three/The Matenrou Show"
Well at least Tsunku likes to dabble with his music, where as groups like the 48s stick with the same thing to the point where all the songs sound the same. That gets pretty damn boring. I understand, if it ain't broke don't fix it, but at the same time I like having a bowl of fruit loops instead of a bowl of cheerios once in awhile.

But so many of the songs have that really heavy opening with the guitar or trumpets or whatever other instrument they decide to abuse that day (not sure how to describe it) that makes them all sound the same. I mean if I listened to all there songs on repeat and paid attention to the titles I'm sure I could spot the differences but I can't they all sound the same. It's only the title single songs though and only recently. Their older songs not so much.

I know about the AKBs, I want the names of the other better idol groups.

Hm, I thought he meant Korean groups.

I think the only Kpop group he likes is A Pink.

From the "current" ones, yes.
I too have that impression, but not the most recent stuff.

Travel back in time through the haze of memories that aren't your own

Idoling!!!, Sakura Gakuin, Passpo, YuiKaori, and Ebisu Muscats are the best non-H!P and non-AKB stuff out there right now. I'm sure most H!P fans will hate Ebisu Muscats just based on their concept, but their music is fantastic.

Well, its on a forum you have to be a member of to view any of the threads and I don't feel terribly comfortable re-posting his stuff without asking. Maybe I'll ask.
While I agree that a lot of the arrangements are pretty similar throughout AKB's major single songs, and they follow really strict idol music composition guidelines for those songs (read: tried and true,) their B-sides, subgroups, and solo member projects have much more variety in all aspects.
And LOL at all your comments about my tastes. That's one of the major reasons I still hang out here, is that most of the people who actually post stuff here are a pretty small and tightly knit group that all know something about each others interests and tastes fairly well through the discussions we have.
