I think the dance looked better than the live version we've been seeing, but some girls are just clearly better than others (at dancing). Poor Sayu got shoved to the back D: I'm really loving this so far though! Can't wait for the full pv!

First of all.

FUCK ALL THE HATERS, THIS IS AWESOME.

Secondly, it's so obvious that the weaker dancers in the group are holding back the entire group, I think they do prefer to do things as a group rather than Riho and Ayumin just doing some crazy duo moves.

Thirdly, why are Masaki and Zukki wearing the same color.... I know what those colors are SUPPOSED to be, I think Masaki needs to change to yellow and Mizuki needs to go white.. yeh I said it! WHITE!

Overall, I love this song, the outfits and I can't wait to see the real video.

The dance looked better than the live. To be honest, it was nothing special form what we got before. Did they switch Riho's spot near the end because in the video she was in the middle but, I think she was somewhere right during the live performance.

Poor Haruna, she was at the back most of the time.

Not gonna lie, my favorite part of this was watching Haruna's constant fails LOL like bumping and kicking the set piece repeatedly. I'm almost starting to like her.

I like it, even if the background decoration is cheap as usual.

I would have enjoyed it more if Haruka was not on the side or back most of the time.

But YaY! Mizuki is so sexy!

This is a nice thing to wake-up too.

I really hope the other a-side showcases the newbies minus reina and riho because I hate seeing a miserable Kanon.

Not too bad. I know it's only a Dance Shot, but even from that you can see that the full PV won't blow your mind with budget and production and will probably be rather formulaic. Unless they're keeping all those other backdrops, sets and locations secret, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm happy enough though, they do work fine as a group and the dance itself isn't horrible. Actually I feel that it has more direction and attention to detail than usual. Take for example towards the end, when they are singing over Riho's autotuned yell - you have the two front singers/dancers, and Riho in the background, slightly out of focus. I can't explain why, but the audio and visual layer compliment one another really well there and feel like a whole. If I could spot that when watching it in a rush getting ready to work, then I'll actually let myself feel hopeful for the full PV.

Thirdly, why are Masaki and Zukki wearing the same color....

[/quote]

Yeah, they really dropped the ball on Masaki's boots. I think there's something about the lighting that's making the colors look off - Ayumi's blue seems dark purple, for example. I remember in the photos Masaki's accessories seemed her usual turquoise, but the boots have always been Zukki's green which clashes badly and is lame

I really like the costumes and I really like the set but... not together? The colors of the outfits clash majorly with the curtains. If they'd been black and white it would have looked much better. I like the dance itself overall, my only complaint is that it doesn't do a very good job of featuring the members. I don't know if it's the camera angle or what, but in the performance I felt like I could see each girl better when they each get their one syllable in. In the dance shot, most of the time the girl singing is way in the back or off to the side. I don't know how people could tell Zukki looked miserable, I barely saw her. BUT I do like that the dance was dynamic and utilized the different waves of girls singing and things like that.

I get the feeling that they did a lot of takes for this, because the energy in the dancing doesn't quite match the energy from the live. It also might be why Kanon looks sad and Reina looks bored (Sayumi also looks bored, but it's hard to tell for sure).

I'm glad that they look more cohesive though. And I think that background is going to reappear as the background for the close up shots, which is okay for me because I like it.

2 things I noticed:

1. Sayumi is not the only one doing sounds (like "ah"). I wonder why they chose to have Mizuki do some? (Future replacement, most likely...)

2. Sayumi has some of the harmonies (the other harmonies I caught were Tsunku). I wonder if that will be a continuing thing?

I still like the song, but the backdrop is giving me some deja nude. Something about the dance is bugging me a lot. They don't rotate positions enough and (at least from this dance shot) you don't get a presence of who is in control of the song and singing. The whole idea behind the dance is just...a mess. What's happening? What's supposed to be happening? We only get a bit of the aesthetic of the rest of the music video, but even the look looks misguided. That backdrop is more of a warm Christmas feel than modern, stylish, or cool.

My Mom simply adores Reina, I can't get her to pay attention to hardly any of the new girls. It's kind of hard with this single since she gets about 40% of the screen time and preety much all of the lines(not that I'm complaining).

Eripon never ceases to Amaze me. And Suzuki's dancing has improved a lot. Her moves are heaps more confident. I think the dance number has a lot to do with it. In the PV the dance looks alot less sloppy, and I like the camera angles that gave more than a few members their spotlight . In the Girls' Award I think the dance and song was debuted prematurely(which might explain Reina's expression .) It's just a theory. I love Ayumi's expressions and dancing. I wish she would've gotten more lines. Sayu is incredibly cute in this PV. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I'm going to bring out my temporary Doomsday Boys Club membership.

One, they reused the lights from Iroppoi Jirettai in the background.

Two, what is up with those neutral curtains and colorful costumes?

Three, what the fuck is UP with those 100yen Store GOLD STREAMERS?

Image

These things were left over from the UFA office Christmas party. (<3unesh that's what I thought too)

What is up with that dance? There's also too much Reina not giving a flying poop and too many people not doing the dance in sync. Maybe the dance wouldn't look like a hot mess if they got some of those Korean cameramen (why not, since apparently he wants to do a kpop-ish song) to follow the dance and swoop and whoosh around so we get a different angle than "hot mess".

But petit, then we couldn't see the dance!

That is a good thing, my friend, a good thing.

You can't have a dance song and that ugly ass sort of set and lighting. They needed some UNF to go with this song. Now I feel like a DOLT for thinking they would try on the 50th single.

Whose cock do I have to shove down my throat to get MM some halfway decent PVs? Ugh, I don't think I'll even bother anymore. Pyoko got a bigger budget than this mess.

I'm really at a loss at trying to describe what I'm picking up from this video But I agree with Melon; I'll start giving some blow jobs too if necessary.

The dance doesn't seem as clusterfucky as it was in the live version, but the dance does seem very plain. If he was wanting the group to be dance oriented we need another "Renai Hunter."

Song's still great. I'm hoping the crappy background is gonna be part of The Mantenrou Show since they look like show curtains.

I'll reserve judgment until I see the official PV. I find most dance PVs to be boring, due to the static camerawork.

Set looks fine, but doesn't really match the color/style of the uniforms. Kind of matches the uniforms from Kono Chikyuu instead.

Best thing about this PV to me is how gorgeous Mizuki looks. She stands out despite her limited screen time.

EDIT: Another good thing is the quality of the film. Did H!P get a new camera?

Uh i think I may be misreading it but I think it has different c/ws depending on what version? I'll romanize in a bit but this is what makes me think it:

>c/w モーニング娘。ロッキーズ 「私の時代!」

作詞:つんく 作曲:つんく 編曲:平田祥一郎

c/w モーニング娘。Q期 「アイサレタイノニ・・・」

作詞:つんく 作曲:つんく 編曲:平田祥一郎

c/w モーニング娘。天気組 「青春ど真ん中」

作詞:つんく 作曲:つんく 編曲:大久保薫

But as I said, I may be losing it.

I still like the song but felt there was a kind of imbalance with the dance. I especially felt it whenever Ayumi would share front row with Reina - it always seemed like Ayumi was doing so much while Reina was not doing anything at all. I guess Reina was singing during those parts so she couldn't do more complicated stuff but the choreographer needed to take that more into consideration. :-/ Reina seemed like she was anchored in one position while everyone else is moving, which really bothered me about the dance shot. Also the color coordination for the background + costumes pisses me off. How hard would it have been to make it match better? T_T

I applaud the girls for their effort though and look forward to seeing a more polished live version of this. Will definitely pick up a copy of this single depending on the cover designs.

The 1-2-3 dance is essentially a mash-up/tribute to prior Momusu dances.

Somebody has put together a detailed list of all the moves that are "borrowed" from prior releases:

http://togetter.com/li/315264

I thought the Pyoko tribute was pretty obvious.

I agree. Just wish the dance was tighter. And I pray the other PV has a better budget. A MR.MOONLIGHT budget.(Doubt it, but a girl can dream.) We can't be 100% sure that this is a good as it's going to get. Perhaps they put something together quick to build up hype. We still have the second A-side to look forward to.

Yeah, this is really sucky. Why can't the producers just try to get a little more creative? shoot it in a raw/edgy street, in a night club, in a karaoke bar... i don't know. WE finally have a fun momusu yet production seems to be as boring as ever. ugh. Pretty pissed off.

I have more faith in the real PV. This was most likely a quick fix in reaction to the popularity of the preview from the fashion show nearing a million hits.

I agree that the real PV will be better.

I think we were spoiled by the footage from the fashion show. This PV doesn't really offer anything new, so it's a bit underwhelming.

Only major change is that it's not as Reina-centric. It's Riho-centric instead!

As sb noted, Reina briefly touched the torch as it was handed from Ai-chan to Riho. Kind of wonder how she feels about that.
