So I haven't thought about going on this site for a while now until I saw the mm-bbs corner at the Hello Party. I was too nervous to approach you guys. Uh, hi and stuff.

Aww you shouldn't have been nervous. We wouldn't harm a fly, at least I wouldn't. Can't say the same for Aueg or Al.
I want to know who that creeper Indian-like dude was filming my fan. Creepy much?

You should have come by and said hello! You're one of the old-school members, so all of us would have remembered you (aside from maybe one.) I'm just surprised/glad someone noticed our humble little banner. Also, those Buono pics that Kathleen drew were gorgeous (though even harder to see from a distance.) Did you scan those?

No, I ruined Momoko though. Airi and Miyabi are still okay. My scanner sucks donkey balls.

Re: Berryz Return to the USA
Saki just announced a few days ago on her blog that they're releasing a DVD of the NJ event. No official word on if it'll be public or FC, and we kinda all knew it was coming anyway, but it's good to have a confirmation. This ought to be fun :)

Re: Berryz Return to the USA
Pt. 3 of the Berryz trip is up on my blog, covering the post-concert rally and party back at the hotel.
Near the bottom of the entry I have two video clips. The first is some footage I took at the post-concert rally, in which the crowd chants something I can't make out. Does anyone know what the chant is and what it means? Thanks.
I would have posted the video clip here but every attempt I made to insert media failed.

They're shouting "yakiniku" and then "meat" (yakiniku is just grilled meat, aka korean bbq). WHY they're shouting that is a mystery to me. Some sort of convention inside joke? Berryz inside joke?
Awesome pictures of BBS members though. I love Aeug trollin' in his AKB shirt. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Re: Berryz Return to the USA
All the berrys girls were saying japanese words and their english meaning. Saki wanted to say meat, but instead she said yakiniku, I think someone corrected her but my brain is fuzzy on the details.
We BBS folk, we find seats and we chill after concerts, like bosses. No riots for us! :D

Re: Berryz Return to the USA
I think it was that Saki picked yakiniku as her Japanese word to teach the audience, and then provided "meat" as the English translation, causing everyone to giggle. She was a bit embarrassed but I think it was eventually conveyed that she was close enough.
Re: Berryz Return to the USA
Grilled Meat.... baked....
The translation I always think is best is the simple one.
Barbecue. ;)

As a Southerner, I take offense to that. If it ain't pork or chicken and it don't have BBQ sauce on it, it ain't barbeque! It's grilled meat!

As a vegetarian I couldn't care either way, if it's cooked with fire it's barbecue to me!
But then it's all murder to me! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nceman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':danceman:' />

In this link, I found this:
I didn't notice this at the time, because I was situated away from the crowd by that point in the concert. Can those of you who were there confirm that this is what happened?
Thanks.
Oh, and check out the girls' comments on their trip. They have very nice things to say about the fans.
In this link, I found this:
During the live concert, Berryz Koubou fans surprised the group during “Because Happiness” by spontaneously singing the accompanying ℃-ute song “Shiawase no Tochuu“. The two songs are designed to be performed together, creating the new song “Cho HAPPY SONG.” The unplanned participation by the crowd touched the hearts of the Berryz Koubou members.

Pt. 4, covering the interview, the Q&A and the autograph session, is now up on my blog. It's the final installment and definitely the longest.

Very cool entry, the last one. The Q&A/autograph session was probably the most exciting part of the event for me and the one I was most curious to hear other people's takes on what they got out of it.

Re: Berryz Return to the USA
Pocket Morning put up two special sections in the members only area about Anime Next. Kind of silly considering it's all in Japanese and the event was for American fans. There's a huge photo gallery which is pretty good, no pictures of fans with the girls though so I didn't take the time to try and email them to myself to post. I'm sure someone at H!O will though. There's also a general event report (nothing too exciting) and comments from the members.
I translated the member comments over at blog! project. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Re: Berryz Return to the USA
It was my first concert period, so I was far too nervous to actually scream. At least until we got to the "Momochi Kawaii!" part. Then I yelled, because I was suppressing the urge to yell her name for the entire concert.
And I was like 99% sure there'd be a DVD, since they were doing a lot of filming before and during the concert.

Only the interview portion will be in the print edition (October issue). Or so I've been told. Not sure when it comes out.

Re: Berryz Return to the USA
The issue of the magazine with the interview is out now. I picked up a copy at Kinokuniya Books tonight:
There were two photos included. One of them is one that I took at the concert:
...making this the first photo of mine to be printed in the magazine.
(For the Morning Musume and Rika Ishikawa interviews, in 2009 and 2010, they used official pictures only.)
Does this mean I'm now officially a photojournalist? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /weeeh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':weeeh:' />
On my way home I got stopped by a Japanese TV crew seeking Yankee fans' reaction to Ichiro Suzuki leaving the Seattle Mariners for the New York Yankees. (They saw my Yankee cap.) I told them I didn't know much about baseball but I was happy to welcome him to my home borough of the Bronx. Then I told them what I did and showed them my copy of the magazine and told them I'd interviewed Berryz Kobo and the cameraman filmed the magazine cover. I showed them the Morning Musume disc I'd just bought (One, Two, Three) and then I took out a Hello! Morning DVD I'd just bought at Book Off and asked the interviewer to translate the cover for me:
Which he did. (Haromoni Gekijo) Wasn't that nice?
All in a night's work.

Unfinished business.
I never did post the picture I took with BK at AnimeNext, so here it is:
Every time I try to look happy in a picture I wind up looking silly. But the girls look great in it, so that's what counts.

Lucky! That's a really great picture. And in one quick shot they all look fantastic, unlike when the pros try to put covers and group profile pics and things together...
