The bunting would work, since it can be folded up small and wouldn't weigh much as long as lightweight fabric was used. If you have the skills to make stuff like that, go for it!



I think the pineapple pitcher is a cute idea, but like PQ said unfortunately things like that would dramatically jack up the shipping cost :( If people wanted to include larger gifts like that I'd have to start asking for money towards the shipping cost, and I'm not sure how to go about that in a way that would be fair.

Sayu said Kanon should be confident in herself. I agree with Sayu. And I feel Kanon suffers for dance.



I think all she have to do is to improve her dance skills and control her own weight.

As you know, UFA is always reluctant to feature the members who are not popular with (Japanese) fans.

Japanese fans are sensitive about their weight and figure, and once they gain weight, it is hard to recover their popularity...



By the way, I heard she had belonged to a softball club before she joined Morning Musume.

At that age it's really easy to gain weight... I know I did a bit, not like drastically or anything only like 10-20 lbs...but at the same time I was also getting taller and my body was growing so I ate more than I do regularly, but weight is important for most any famous person really unless their thing is being fat (like Melissa McCarthy) even in the US, tabloids poke a people with jiggly thighs. I just have noticed that from the time she entered since now, she has gained weight. She always talks about how she loves food too, the ones who love food so much always seem to get chubby, like TsujiKago. I don't really care what she weighs, but since she's in an idol group I think it's important that she watches it. She's still growing but... It'll be sad if she goes on shows and gets bashed like Maasa does.

Recently Rinapuu had written a series of blogs about how she'd been feeling down and she got a ton of fan comments telling her to cheer up. After that she wrote a blog about how grateful and happy she was and her tone really did change a lot in future blogs. I don't know that there will be nearly as many of us as there were Japanese fans commenting on Rina's blog, but at the very least a present from a bunch of people halfway around the world has to put a smile on her face for a little bit.



Going with what Masa mentioned and Sayu's analysis, I think it would be good if people writing letters/cards could try to include a little bit about she should be more confident. Just a simple "I think you're awesome, so you should realize some of your own awesomeness!" kind of thing.



Do you guys think we should partially open this up via blog! project? I don't want to give my address out to a zillion random people for cards and stuff, but maybe we could just ask people for pictures of themselves holding up birthday signs, sort of similar to the smile campaign S/mileage had at their debut? They could include Name(nickname)/Age/Country with their submission (to give her an idea of how varied overseas fandom is) and I could print them all out to go in with our cards/letters/mini gifts. That way it's not just like... 10 people at the bbs xD

I don't like to call her Zukki. At least MM members don't call her so. Because it doesn't sound suitable for female. Sayu said the same.

Though there are pros and cons regarding her nickname among Japanese fans, if you love her, you shouldn't call her Zukki.

But actually, I hadn't really thought about that before. You make a good point. I have noticed that the MM members almost never call her Zukki. I went to the blog! project post and changed most references to her name to "Kanon" or "かのんちゃん." I didn't change all references, since I do think "Zukki" is a fairly well known nickname among foreign fans and it would be weird for me to suddenly change it entirely after people had seen it. I think most people use it just because of the potential confusion with Fukuda Kanon, to be honest.



For your cards and letters and what not, please feel free to write whatever nickname you think is most appropriate. But I think Masa makes a fair point. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

As for Suzuki Kanon, I call her Kanon/Kanon-chan (香音/かのんちゃん).

On the other hand, as for Fukuda Kanon, I call her Kanyon (かにょん). So I'm never confused about the issue.



Unfortunately, when Suzuki Kanon joined MM, Suzuki Airi and Fukuda Kanon had already been in H!P. So Tsunku named her Zukki in order to distinguish her from them. But.. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... smooch.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='=3=' />



If you are accustomed to call her Zukki, never mind. Because Zukki is her official nickname.

Sayu is right! He has no sense with nicknames! I think the worst nickname was Ayumi's Daiishii. I just call her Ayumi. He didn't even give Masaki one and the members just call her Maa-chan. Harunan is pretty cute though. But he called Ayaka DAWA, but now her fans call her Ayacho. He should just let the girls come up with their own nicknames.

It's totally up to you, but I suggest informal. Definitely use "chan" and not "san," but otherwise the formality is up to you. I personally think that as long as it's not specifically rude, casual language is okay :)

Will the pictures of ourselves that the BBSers send in be a part of the collage?

Yes, unless you specifically ask that it not be. For example, you'd rather it be attached to your letter or something. If you're holding up a sign, I'd say it's better in the collage. If you want it to go with your letter, I'd say go with a small picture that you can glue onto the letter itself. But really anything is okay!

It turns out the forwarding just wasn't working. The stuff is great so far, I only have 13 submissions but that already includes six different countries - the U.S., Panama, Mexico, The Netherlands, Canada, and Lebanon. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /weeeh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':weeeh:' />
