Disclaimer : I spent the past few nights doing this (First night, organizing and sending photos to print, second night was cutting and gluing and last night was assembly. ALL BY MYSELF!!! Yes I'm hard core bitch what!?) so I could get it shipped out to TnB for the 20th in time without breaking my wallet. I may or may not have had a psychotic break near the end stages so excuse my horrible puns and weird English phrases peppered throughout the book. If you sent in more then one picture, I used the better one to save on room. I wasn't expecting SO many pictures and I didn't want to shrink most of them too much because then your sign wouldn't have been visible. And yes, I looked up how to say Happy Birthday and Hello in every language from every country that wasn't English. I did everything in my power to show off your country with flags and the map in the back. Sorry ahead of time if I screwed up something. If we ever plan to do this again, I'd like a bigger window of design room. I felt like I was in college again the big night before an art presentation. TnB will more then likely photograph the final book because I left the front page (which I didn't photograph) blank for the note she's going to write. I also told her to do her best Tsunku impression and insert more sparkle if she deemed not enough was present. ;D



Hope my "edit" job is acceptable to those who don't want their faces shown.



I'd also like to note, that when I went to Japan in 2006 I purchased the sticker that's on the back of this book. I've had it ever since and felt it should return to Japan for Zukki. It was hard letting go, but I want her to Have a Good Day when she reads the book. And considering I made the damn book, the last page was mine dammit, I earned that page!

I'll make a post on blog! project in a bit with some more details and the contents of the letter I included in the front of the scrapbook. What I won't mention on blog project is how we included some gifts, since people there weren't given that option, but I did explain that there are presents included in the letter.



Here's what the contents of the box looked like:

I just sent it out, so I'll keep an eye on the tracking number. The thing is... I chose the cheapest shipping method available (regular USPS) and it still cost me $118 to ship. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' /> I really hate to do this, but would anyone involved be willing to contribute a little bit to that cost? When I originally volunteered to do this I wasn't thinking the package was going to be quite this size/weight, otherwise I would have asked for contributions from the start. Perhaps I should ask the people at blog! project too, but I'm just not sure how to do it in a good way =/



Anyway, when it gets closer to Kanon's actual birthday I'll start tweeting at every UFA related account I can find to ask if she got it/liked it. We may never know, but uuh especially for all that money, I'm going to work damn hard to try and find out xD

I'd give you some money, but I spent quite a bit putting that scrapbook together so I'm sorta depleted right now till next week.

I could, perhaps, set up an official Paypal donation thingy. I might as well? And filter the funds received to you guys. I wouldn't feel entirely comfortable handling all the funds unless we were all transparent (including me!). I don't know if this is one off, but even if it is, I don't want funds to constrain us from doing stuff like this in the future.

Want to be technical about it, they ARE in the scrapbook.

I don't want to make things too complicated - I could have organized this a bit better in the beginning to make the money part easier. On one hand, donation would be entirely voluntary and the scrapbook itself is probably one of the heaviest items in the box. On the other hand, I've had people offer to buy me gifts and seen people say they wish they could donate to us just because they like the translations. I'd be more afraid of a bunch of money coming in based on the wrong reasons (I would NEVER want to start "charging" our visitors for translations).



For this one I think I'm pretty much going to take the financial hit, aside from anything people at the board can contribute (which again would be entirely voluntary and only whatever amount people feel comfortable giving).

I've been following the tracking number - the package was finally delivered today after some bizarre hangup for the last 3 or 4 days.
