I knew this would be a slow song. The beginning music reminds me way too much of a lullaby, they both sound okay. I wanna wait for a radio preview to make a final decision on this song though.
The beginning music is actually a well-known classical composition. Though the composor escapes my mind. In this it's done in a music box style, which gives the lullaby feel.

JPop and Mozart do not belong together. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /frown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':frown:' />

This song is kinda meh. I'm sure a studio/radio version will make it more appealing. I guess it doesn't help that I don't particularly like either girl in the unit.

Are they getting releases? Can't imagine Peaberry selling well. DIY has a few more girls which gives them a better chance but still. I think they'll probably just show up on a Petit Best.

Wow, two of the most shrill and annoying voices in H!P, combined, to sing a ballad. We have some fucking geniuses working at UFA.

Hey, I really like it. Both songs are pretty good. Arrgh, it's so annoying that they only chose meh or bad singers for these units (except for Miya, of course).

It reminds me a lot of KARA, even their outfits do I now realize.

But I do like this song a lot, it's different than the usual songs H!P does, so it's like a breath of fresh air. The song is pretty high pitched so it works well with Nakky and Chi's voices, but still works with Maimi's and Miya's too. Harunan sounds pretty good too~

I like this song a lot and I hope they do a PV because I want to see a cool dance.

I'm absolutely loving the quality of DIY's song. It's so catchy, and like you guys said, different.

Pachelbel's canon is in everything, so it's hard to gripe about that one. I'm fine if they use pieces of the classics, but when the new song and not the classic becomes the more recognized version, it makes me cringe a bit. (16 years of piano will do that to you.)

I really like the DIY<3 Song, though. It's catchy as can be.

Whut. This is friggin' awesome.

Part of me wants to say that Mr.♂'s mind was just as blown as our own, but then he decided to claim it as his own.
That would be hilarious, but they both reference happiness, were released around the same time, and the amount of lines make convenient delicious sandwiches (with C-ute as the meat in the start, and Berryz at the end) I don't know the lyrics but pretty much everything goes with "ne~e~"

Also, if you listen to them apart, the piano in C-ute's song is definitely playing a minimal version of the hyper synth in the Berryz track intro. They probably did that to hide that it was the same thing, while hinting at the same time.

Quick, someone should rip the vocals of this and place it over Pachelbel's Canon. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Oh, I just noticed they both had synching of the lines "Amaeteru" & and later "Yume ga arushi" So, the lyrics MUST have some type of tie in. The relation of these songs would probably be somewhat apparent to those few individuals who are fluent in Japanese, and miraculously fans of both groups.

However, I fully believe that they take the framework of many old songs to make new ones. Sometimes even using the same arranger without any shame. Hi Okubo.
Wait, I was only kidding, it ACTUALLY DOES USE IT?? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' />

Tsunku was so watching the Axis of Awesome video and thought of the easiest way to make a Berryz song match a C-ute song. or this one...

Everything about the song was already clever, but for him to reference the song , and then reveal what was really being played, elevates it to a higher level. It's like he was messing with us, and then arrogantly pointed it out to us. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I found someone said this on "Arama They Didn't!" and thought it was funny even thought I don't think it's true.

DIY♥ is actually a qt name but basically it's 'hot bitches who can dance and Haruna' or 'hot bitches who cant sing and Miyabi' depending on how you look at it.

I haven't listened to check if it actually does use it, but it wouldn't surprise me. That thing is in everything. Have you not seen the Pachelbel rant on YouTube? It's an oldie but a goodie. Now I need to listen to the song again and see if I can pick anything out.

More concert footage. I think this is from Satoyama Life.

This has DIY in it too. Haruna does her best with that dance.

Oh wow. I just feel bad for Haruna. In the far shots where you can see all of the members (2:40), she's doing pretty much all of the moves wrong.

I had no idea Haruna was that short compared to the rest of DIY. At least Haruna is trying with the dancing, she can only get better.

It's the right moves, just completely off time and with absolutely no fluidity or sharpness. It's kind of like watching a robot on tranquilizers. Image

She's a lot newer than the other members so I can't understand why people are giving her a hard time. She's trying her best and is still completely adorable! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nceman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':danceman:' />

Haruna looks tall in MM because over half of them under 15. But she's only 160cm, she's shorter than Sayu. Everyone else except Nakky is over 160.

I love her and she tries, but girl can't dance. I hope her voice at least improves. I wonder if she will turn out to be like the opposite of Sayu, can't dance, but can sing decently.

Her and Kanana should been a unit lol

She's just so weak at dancing that I think they should have just substituted Yurina or something since they wanted a leggy group. Haruna can barely even keep up with the Morning Musume dances.

The thing is, Haruna is so bad at dancing that she has become known in the fandom for it. This basically never happens with Japanese idols because there's so little focus or emphasis on dance (with a few exceptions like Fairies, SweetS, Flower, etc), so to gain a reputation as "the one who can't dance" in a situation where most of the girls are average at best, you have to be pretty much inherently bad at it. I doubt she'll ever even be average. She was just born with a natural inability for dance. Luckily, dance is not a big thing in Japan like it is in Korea, so it just kind of serves as one of her "charm points".

Putting her in DIY was just a really, really weird idea. They put some of the best dancers in the group, put "dance" in the name, and then put in pretty much the only H!P girl that is so bad people actually notice.

Then again, I think putting her in Momusu period was a weird idea, so.Image

Moved all these posts to this thread since you're talking about Haruna in DIY.

It's probably their hope that by putting Haruna into a group like this, she'll learn a few skills along the way that will be helpful in Morning Musume.

It's amazing how short is Haruna compared to everyone else. (Either that or she isn't wearing her tall boots.) She always seemed to tall. D:

She's the next Sayumi, Farrah. She's been showing up on Youngtown and has been/is doing a few non-group tv appearances. They need another radio/variety girl and everyone else who would be good for it is too young.

I AM disappointed at the lack of modeling she's done since joining, though. I can't believe they're not taking more advantage of that. Most of the magazine stuff I've seen lately has been the other 10th gen members and Riho.

I honestly think she's even worse than Sayumi, haha. Sayu was tone deaf but at least she was average at dancing. Haruna also appears to be super shy/socially awkward so seeing her tv appearances is generally painful for me. I hope she finds something to be good at, that's all I can say.
