Watching the PV, it seems more like something they would have given to C-ute or Morning Musume; the style is so different from usual S/mileage releases.

On the plus side, it's really obvious they distributed the lines more fairly <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />

How come everybody get lines in every H!P group except MM? Even the bad singers get lines. In MM, the good singers can't even get lines. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /frown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':frown:' />

The video is nice, but kind of weird. The close-ups were a little creepy.

I love the song, the line distribution is much better than with Dot Bikini. However the video was just lack luster, nothing exciting happened except for really fast moving close up shots.

I really love the song, reminds me of Yume Miru and Uchouten. I really like the PV though! It's not the best, but still nice :)

Is that the room they used for Shining Butterfly? Anyway, I can't get over how much I REALLY love these outfits.

Here's the PV and stuff.

Yawn.
I wonder how they managed to get them to sit still for so long when they did those still shots.

Uhm, yeah I'm going to officially come out and say that I don't like this single one bit besides the outfits. PV is meh, song is meh. Fact they only have one c/w and it's a cover of a new song, double meh!

I'm just excited that Kana is actually getting lines now! She doesn't sound amazing, but she doesn't sound bad, either. Girl's been working! Woooo!

Rina got a few, so that's good for her. And they keep shooting her from angles that make her face look super wonky. (Or is it just wonky?)

It seems like S/mileage is getting back to "normal" line distribution like things were before graduations.

The song does seem like it belongs in another group. C-ute maybe. Actually, any other H!P group but S/mileage. It all sounds too serious for S/mileage's cutesy bootsy vibe.

What happened to the S/mileage song I liked. The PV is so boring for me. I liked the song a lot until I saw the PV. I was looking forward to as well. Maybe this is one of those LIVE songs. Maybe I will find a new found love later. Not now though, the PV killed it. Like Al said...YAWN!!!!!!!!! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/yawn.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Has anyone noticed red seems to be the color for S/mileage single outfits outfits lately? Well, the last 3/4 singles, I think. Please Miniskirt, Dot Bikini, Suki yo...

Someone was red in Chotomate kudasai. That counts, I guess.

Edit: You could say the last 4/5 singles if you don't count the sub-member pink color for Tachia-girl.

Let's hope the song will be the first good song from S/mileage since Yuuka left.
God, this, seriously. But unfortunately, that isn't the case with this one. This song is terrible. It just continues to ruin the legacy that S/mileage started a few years ago when they debuted. They were the best thing since sliced bread for the first year or two after they debuted, then they became the dregs. I can't even listen to this song, the vocals are really bad and the arrangement sounds like every generic H!P arrangement from the last 3 years. I wish Tsunku had the smarts that Aki-P did back in the days of Onyanko Club to cut things off when they were very obviously dead and had no good ideas or talent left.

what a shame, I mean really... I remember when ganbaranakutemo was about to come out, my folks came over to Japan for a holiday and we were in Tokyo, the S/mileage adverts were on huge billboards and there was a sense that this group is picking up pace fast, people were starting to rank them the best group in H!P, at that time I'd say most were saying C-ute - S/mileage - the rest.

But since Saki, Yuuka and the new members joining it's been a train wreck.

Shame.

Kana sucks at looking serious, but I like the song just fine.

The video is standard H!P not horrible, but not something I'd like to watch many times.

And according to the H!P site, the C-ute song will be the only b-side this time around.

If it was another old disbanded group song that'd be okay, but not one so new.

This makes me think that Tsunku wrote the song with both groups in mind, but gave it to C-ute in the end,
If anything, I think he wrote the single track with C-ute in mind. It's a bit more S/exy than what one would expect from them.

This is instantly my favorite S/mileage s/ingle.

It also sounds a lot like something that belongs in Rhythm Tengoku Wii. (because it uses a lot of the same elements and effects as some of the tracks) Well, they were originally a TNX group...

It brings to mind about 70 different songs, but none of them are Seishun Collection. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

My only wish is that the chorus didn't switch out of the cool sound of the rest of the song, it gets too happy in comparison.

I guess it would only be fair to add that I didn't really really care for much after Yume Miru 15, and before it, only Asu wa Date got my attention. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Also, they aren't using their baby voices in all of this song, so major points there.

I hope that they give this to C-ute in one of those crazy song switching concert setlists.

Every bad review gets an added 20 points for suck, while favorable reviews only get 1 point each.

I really don't see what's so special about this song that everyone are loving it. Perhaps it will grow on me? But after the first PV listen I just forget it existed. It's a real shame to because I love the s/mileage girls and want to see them succeed. I guess I'm not as big a S/mileage fan as I thought I was?

There was lots of love for the song from the original preview, but then when the PV came out suddenly there was a bunch of dislike for it. They probably just forgot about all that love in the beginning. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Having heard the whole thing, I like it a lot. I'm surprised Rob is Mr. Negative now! He used to be the champion of "don't be stuck in the past! embrace the new!" <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Personally, I started to become really bored with S/mileage around Onaji Jikyuu. They had all these cute Tanpopo-y indies singles, an awesome debut song, a cute and quirky second single and then... noise and boringness. Saki and Kanon started to sound way too similar, and the group really lacked vocal diversity in general. It was chipmunk land all around. Uchouten Love was great, but I still wasn't sad to see Saki go. Saki and Yuka never left a huge impression on me like they did other people, for whatever reason. But then the 2nd gen joined and we got lots of different sounding voices, really cute songs, and Kananan who is enough personality for the whole group all by herself. The 2nd gen is the only reason I continued to pay attention to the group. UFA definitely didn't execute the timing of the auditions very well, but at least for me, the end result improved the group a lot.

And now we get a song where they get to sound a bit more mature, and everyone gets to sing, yay! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nceman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':danceman:' /> The PV sucks but I don't really care. I usually only watch PVs once or twice when they first come out, no matter how good they are. They're like a freebie that comes with the CD release for me. If it's good, yay, if not, oh well it was free.

How come everybody get lines in every H!P group except MM? Even the bad singers get lines. In MM, the good singers can't even get lines.
I think because S/mileage basically lost half of its original form in a short amount of time, it's necessary to give all of the girls solo parts to shape the group in its new form. Otherwise it'll seem like they're saying "we messed up this group, so we will only feature the original girls"

With MM, Reina's status is really carrying the group, because she is now the one who has been given more lines/significant roles than any other current girl and has been around since 2003. They're probably afraid to change this until she graduates. Riho is just being groomed to be the next Reina. They will make a single that features the others eventually, they always do. They have patterns, but they also like to break them to surprise us.

MM just released a single that had B-sides for each newer generation girl to get a bunch of solo lines to sing, give them some credit. Plus they have a new album out in September, it'll be interesting how they handle the songs for the underutilized girls, especially since this will be an album without Ai and Risa. Not that Risa was a line hog, but she was a constant supporting member in recent albums/ rode on Ai's coattails as a 5th gen girl. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> It's a bit like what Koharu said about herself and Nacchi. She followed her like goldfish poop.

Happy Music Performance

They did pretty well. I'm not sure if Rina and Kana were live, but Akari and Meimi are really improving. I think they'll be very good in a couple years.
