Did I mention about five of my NES carts decided to bite the dust at the same time? Other games still work though, so I can't blame the console itself.

It is so depressing. :(

Also depressing is that I want New Super Mario Bros. 2 but this pay period includes rent AND utilities, two birthdays, car insurance, and a big grocery order. So I cannot. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' />

Which ones were they ?

Many can be bought very cheap on eBay. Especially carts-only.

Well the first one to go was Zelda. WHICH I have on virtual console and GBA but i had started it over in February and was in labyrinth nine. :(

Also Yoshi, Dr. Mario, Snoopy at the Olympic Games. And...metroid? I didn't try all of them, but Tiny Toons (shut up) works fine.

I guess I'm most upset that I was able to keep them for 20+ years and now they are dropping like flies :(

Just finished episode 3 of "The Walking Dead" and HOLY CRAP!!! this has to be the darkest game series ever. It's basically a futility simulator since, no matter how hard you try to make things better, everything goes to shit. Can't wait for episode 4.

Haven't been gaming much lately, but I'm excited about Borderlands 2. I didn't really get into the first one but I didn't have a group to play with, which I do now.

I've returned to Diablo III for the first time since I got stuck months ago. Has the game gotten easier or am I suddenly better at it somehow?

They shipped the game with a high difficulty curve and then have nerfed the crap out of it since then.

The main P4 character's stories have a lot of overlap, but there are quite a few of the stories that are their own unique thing, which is nice. It sucks that Yukiko and Chie's are pretty much the throwaway stories, but at least they get joke endings as well as the regular ones. Most of the story happens in Yu, Yosuke, Naoto, Aigis, Labrys and Elizabeth's stories, although Kanji's is awesome.

They introduce far too much story for the follow up to be another fighting game, but I wonder if this is going to lead into Persona 5, or some kind of "Persona All-Stars" game, since by the end it's pretty much tying the entire franchise together.

[/quote]

I got P4A the other day and I cannot believe how much I love this as canonical fiction and a poorly-voiced genre-shifting sequel. I mean, it's crazy how the P4 cast is versatile enough to go from grind-fest RPG to motherfucking BlazBlue fighting game. Seriously, this is Avengers-level planning to get these things to click. I'm not at the end of the story yet (cliffhang-finished Chie, Kanji, and Akihiko), but can we just get another offshoot? Shin Megami Tensei Persona Shadow Operatives? Please?

Also, if you only saw a million gay audience-nods, you weren't playing with your eyes open. You weren't even in the same room. This makes a wonderful drinking game/curate drinking experience.

A heads up if you don't know it, once you finish Labrys' story, you can go back in with the other characters and pick up at the cliffhanger to finish their stories.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has a lot of T's in its title and is taking too long to install. When it does, I will be terrifically tormented by tapestries of... tacos? Image Anyway, challenge me if you have it too.

It's amazing if you like this sort of game. Definitely better than the last couple entries in the series. I'm enjoying it a lot more than P4A, but they're different enough that I can't speak for everyone on that.

I'm rather unimpressed with the four-and-a-half month launch window game list they released. I thought Nintendo learned their lesson with a weak 3DS launch lineup. (The Wii U line up isn't THAT bad, but still.) I guess they are saving their big guns to compete when Sony/Microsoft release their new consoles.

At least it has 2GB RAM, unlike the crippled current consoles. That was a big relieve for me as a mainly PC gamer, even if they talked about some dumb split-up between OS/application. I can only hope the other two companies don't fuck it up and also have at least 2GB.

Afaik they didn't state anything about CPU/GPU, so we can't say if it's worth the price or not.

It's disappointing that it doesn't run everything at 1080p. I have been running at 1680x1050, a huge step up from 720p (1280x720), on my PC since already 5 years. lol

Whatever, it comes out ten days before my birthday and I'm sure my dad will get it for me. I always need the latest nintendo because ZELDA. It is also because ZELDA that I can always get my parents to get me the latest nintendo, because they understand the importance of ZELDA.

I've written multiple papers for school about playing ZELDA with my dad over the years.

Triforce tattoo?

Hi I'm a loser.

PS I am forever obligated to nintendo since I named my dog Princess Peach. Dog in heaven was Gooey (from Kirby) and I have a Gooey and Kine tattoo in her honor. So yeah, Nintendo kind of owns my soul.

I also used to be a Nintendo hardcore fan.

But then came Twilight Princess, which kinda marked the downfall of Nintendo for me. But we've been over this already.

I think the discussion has been had already, but Twilight Princess is one of my favorite Zelda games, although I'm one of the few that didn't really like OoT or MM. My top three are LTTP, SS, and TP.

On another note: I will be playing Borderlands 2 on steam, always happy to join up with others.

My copy of Borderlands 2 should be here by lunch tomorrow and I know I'll be sucked into for the foreseeable future.

As for non video games, I'm a huge nerd so my friends and I get together every Saturday and play various board and card games. The two I've been into most lately are Android: Netrunner, a cyberpunk card game where one player controls a corporation, and the other is a hacker trying to bring them down, and the new X-Wing miniatures game where you get a squad of ships and dogfight.

Here you go. It's an updated re-release of a game from around 15 years ago that was created by the same guy that made Magic: The Gathering. It's been changed into what's called the Living Card Game format. In most games like Magic, you have to buy packs of random cards to make your decks to play with. In an LCG, everyone has access to the same cards in the starter box, and then they release update packs every couple of months that contain a set of new cards, usually 3 copies of each, for around 12 dollars. Also, unlike stuff like Magic, LCG cards never "rotate out" (in most collectable card games, cards are only legal for about 2 years, then get replaced with new sets).
