with that said, I GENUINELY don't think Sakura is a great singer, right now I think she's average at best, but in the group maybe 3rd best behind Reina and Mizuki.



If I gave the impression I hate Sakura I'm sorry, that wasn't my intention, I honestly don't think she's cute... at all..... her old hair cut was way better.



If you want to compare her to Karin then that's just unfair, poor Sakura doesn't stand a chance.



But having said all that, I do think Sakura has the potential to be better, it's up to her if she can do it or not.

Stuff like this makes me feel like you're incredibly biased, because Karin is NOT that amazing - even by idol standards! Not when there are idols out there with voices like Masuda Yuka's. Shit, Saho Akari was more consistant as far as singing goes, and H!P never did anything with her either. Karin is above average for an idol, that's about it. And hey, that's fine, being an idol isn't all about singing, but I truly don't understand why you're so impressed by her abilities. There even other idols out there that could sing and dance her under the table.

Saho Akari? are you kidding me? She was the pure definition of average, I did a quick search and the first link was of her with Airi and Miyabi singing FIRST KISS, she is so damn bland compared to those two.



Miyabi! A prime example, she is nowhere near the best singer in the world, but her voice has that certain character about it, something different, a spark... an x-factor whatever you wanna call it, and that's the same thing I think about Karin, her voice isn't just another idol, it has that certain something about it, it's delicate but strong, gentle and yet powerful.



I don't expect you to agree with me, nor do I expect you to think I'm some wota weirdo, I like her voice, I think it's something special. The End.

I think it's you trying to convince yourself, because everyone else seems to be pretty fine with her. I think people are just upset at the short window in which we were recieved audition news and results compared to the last 4-5 auditions.

The whole no audition thing was a big loss, the whole audition process is so interesting.

I think she's slated to start full time during the H!P Winter Concert. Which gives her plenty of time to play catch-up. I'm sure she'll do promotion with everyone else for the next single, but I think given the fact she's a solo member, they want her to start her official career in MM with amazing results instead of, meh.

I think people are hoping that lines will change because only choosing one girl makes it seem like she was the missing piece of the front girl puzzle. I bet some of the other audition girls will appear in random H!P groups in the future, possibly even new groups.

I'm fine with this result, Sakura's voice is not perfection but it's capable in parts of reaching some great heights and the main thing is she's already incredibly versatile which both Riho and Reina lack. If this really is a solo generation I'm still waiting for 7 Russian exchange students to turn up at Christmas then it sets it up for another audition in a year or so with a broader theme to it. This audition... so far, did what it said on the tin.

Also because new members usually get some lines, and now there's only one girl on this gen to give it too. And because when Koha and Aika first joined they got several lines.

She also got a SEXY ISLAND~. Aika on the other hand got 5 lines. Maki got 3 and an Ah-ha~.



As for groups, 2nd and 4th got no lines on their debut single. 5th gen, Risa got her ai wo kudasai. 6th gen, Reina got 11, Sayumi got 3 and Eri got a Shabondamaaaa! Jun/Lin each got 1 line in Onna ni Sachi Are.

9th gen saw everyone get two lines and lastly the 10th gen all got a onna no ko.



The fact that Sakura is getting time off from the next single means that she's more then likely 100% to get a whole mess of lines in her single like Reina did.



6th gen joined in January but didn't make their CD debut till July with Shabondama. They were in Kei's graduation concert which was in May. That's roughly about the same time Sakura is going to have since she'll make her official concert debut in January (because that's usually when the H!P Winter concert starts) and be on the next single which will be whenever. She might debut sooner if MM release another H!P single, but who knows.

Apparently, in the JIJIPRESS clip, Reina is complimenting Tsunku for FINALLY choosing a good vocalist for Momusu...LOL

It's kind of hard to tell how featured a member was just by line counts. Maki seemingly didn't get a huge number of lines in her debut song, but back in her day the lines were a lot more spread out among the members. No one got big paragraph-long solos. She was also ridiculously focused on in the PV with that long intro that was entirely about her. When Aika first joined MM was already in it's phase of having 1-3 girls sing the majority of the songs while the rest of the girls got a sentence if they were lucky. So the fact that she got as many lines as she did as a new member was pretty good... until Jun/Lin came along and all three of them were shoved in the back.



Koharu practically got the Maki treatment. Despite her complete lack of singing talent she had a solo career soon after joining and she got a lot of feature in concerts with the Rainbow Pink stuff. And again, for a crappy singer, she continued to get about the same amount of solo lines as Risa/Eri until pretty late in her MM career.



So I'd say Sakura has a pretty good chance of getting a lot of feature. I'm hoping she gets the Koharu treatment without the solo career. I'd like to see her make friends and seem integrated with the group rather than being a loner and her own show the way Koharu and Maki kind of were (for different reasons <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... R#>/8o.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8o' /> ).

Yeah, I can't quite figure her out. She does look really different in every photo. But Ayumi wasn't cute-weird right away, it took her a while to get that look. Sakura probably just needs some styling magic.
