Jessica Mauboy. I love her, I saw The Sapphires yesterday and it's the most gorgeous movie. If it comes to any of your countries, you really ought to see it! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Re: What are you listening to right now ?
Thanks to Turtle talking about Ayumi Hamasaki and since we share tastes in music, I decided to shut off my inner youth and give her another try.
Verdict?
Good God, I like Ayumi Hamasaki. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nfused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Well, a lot of her songs are good, but her voice is what takes away. But as I spent time listening to it, I became almost fond, though not quite fond because some songs I grimace when she sings, but a sort of liking to her voice. I also find that I like her earlier stuff more than the later stuff.

Why I love Ayumi Hamasaki.
OK, her voice can go a bit harsh especially in her early songs but live she is just awesome.

Re: What are you listening to right now ?
Audiofiles from a lecture about Indian yoga philosophy.
All the previous philosophy lectures I've took were pretty interesting, some even fascinating at times.
But this Indian "philosophy" stuff is utter crap to me. It's so non-sensical and just random ideas mixed together, it hurts my brain...
I wasn't too eager to do this lecture anyway, but I have no other choice since it's the only one offered right now for the last module I need to finish.

David Choi's album Forever and Ever is really good. There is not one song I dislike and It's been on repeat for a month already! My favourite would have to be Rollercoaster.

Think about that grouping in terms of how things are RIGHT NOW in H!P. It's kind of a peek at the future front girls.
I would venture to say that the original line up of Aa! = 2012's front girls of H!P's 3 biggest groups.
Much older? Reina has 3 years on Miyabi & 5 years on Airi, that's not so bad. It's just that they looked so different from each other since puberty didn't hit yet. If you put those 3 in a group now, there's probably no visual age difference.
Now here's an age difference, Morning Musume simultaneously had Kago Ai=1988 & Nakazawa Yuko=1973
Plus we have Dream Morning Musume, where Koharu makes it almost a twenty year difference!
For a complete unit configuration, here's a fun one. 1972. 1974. 1983. 1985.
Who would think this would work?
This was probably the only group ever with Yuko where someone else was the oldest member. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Akagumi 4
Oh yeah, Listening to NUXX - BORN TO WALK
It's like 80kidz crossed with Root Thumm! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Playing Songpop has gotten me to start listening to moumoon. I went and downloaded their last three albums, now working my way through them.
This is a place where a signature goes. Enjoy some Airi instead.

I am going through Otsuka Ai's stuff. I used to love her so so much. But all good things come to an end eventually. :(
Thanks to the BBSers that rec'd Ellie Goulding to me awhile back, I'm going to pick up her new album if I can find it in stores this weekend. :D

Falling In Reverse - "The drug In Me Is You" (Entire Album)
You wouldn't think that someone who listens to JPop also likes whatever genre(metal core/rock)
[/quote]
You would be surprised how many of us do. And best comes when you mix the two! Look up Evil Morning remixes for some golden classics, or Akebono no Myoujou for a bit more recent stuff. I'm sad that most remixers of olden days quit, because some of them were quite amazing. But I didn't follow this scene for a long while, so maybe there are new artists now.
Incidentally, I discovered BABYMETAL a few weeks ago. I know, 5 years after everyone else did. I saw the name before but stayed away from it expecting nothing but gimmicky crap. Well, instead, it's all gimmicky awesome! It's just too bad that they have maybe 5 songs total, and being a gimmicky sub-group of a bigger H!P-like troupe they don't release on a regular basis, if they're even still active.
I can't understand how putting together all old household Japanese girl idol and heavy metal cliches produces such awesome results, but I could listen to Headbanger for hours on end. Dokidoki Morning and Ii ne! are pure joy too.

Freddy Mercury has been dead for more than 20 years now...
I have been thinking about death and how little we, as a human species, actually matter in the grand cosmos that we live in, lately.
And yet, Bohemian Rhapsody is probably one of the 10 best songs ever created.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ9rUzIMcZQ
btw, yes, with "ever" I do include masterpieces like Bach's Air in his French suite.

Re: What are you listening to right now ?
WEAR I AM from MEG is such a surprise hit. The musical ADD is very daring. I've been singing it all day and the sorenss in my throat is giving me a headache. The music video is especially stunning. I've always pictured MEG as this homely, half-Western-looking lank-fest.

I saw her live in London a few years ago, and while a few of her songs are alright, I never quite got the hype. Her voice gets really whiny at times and I can't listen to her for a long period of time.
