Worldwide Handshake Event with H!P!

Post by Shoujo Q »

News from takamaruyo. [It's official Now!]

So apparently in all the confusion of Oda and the MM concert, this news sorta flew under the radar.

MM is going to start the Hello! Project 15th Anniversary~THANK YOU~ Worldwide Handshake Events, that starts in October. UFA/Tsunku want to start marketing MM globally or something.

First stops are Taipei, Bangkok and Paris.

MM is going to start a World Wide Handshake Event Series that starts in October. UFA/Tsunku want to start marketing MM globally or something. Not much else seems to be said, if anyone has anymore info I'll be happy to topic this subject in its own thread. But for now it's just a little blurb I thought was interesting, that hasn't been talked about yet.

Taipei, Bangkok, and Paris. And they don't even invite World Wide Zukki? Actually, it looks like they only invited the five oldest, so there might be issues with school or something.

Looks like I just missed a new thread split...

Took me a moment to realize what PH stood for.

You know if they come to US, it's only going to be either New York or California. MAAAAYBE Seattle and perhaps Hawaii.

I envision them doing a whole bunch of these tours in the Summer and Winter when the rest of the girls have breaks.

I also hope this includes the other H!P groups too. (C-ute!!!!)

Fucking this, I'm so tired of every remotely interesting event being in obligatory パリ. It defies the purpose of international expansion on so many levels, from the general language barrier, through the inability or unwillingness of the locals to speak English, inflated prices everywhere (because it's Paris, France, duh), to much worse communication with the rest of Europe. And let me not get started on the bad flashbacks of the Japan Expo handshake event organisation...

Apart from that, it's very exciting, and the timing could not be more fortunate for us. We're definitely going if we get a confirmed event ticket, but to date there was no further information as to how you will get the tickets. Someone at H!O said that you get the ticket only if you buy the CD from specific shops in France, but I don't know where they pulled that out from, besides that would be the dumbest idea ever guaranteed to piss off everyone outside of France (or Paris for that matter).

Remember that KIKKA is in Europe on 2 Japan expo's.

The weekend before the handshake she is in Orleans , and after the handshake on Tuesday afternoon

Kikka is that weekend in Brussels.

Maybe with a little luck there are also a few Momusume's at the expo's.

This whole affair feels so mishandled, rushed and disorganised that I have little hope of it even happening at all.

I wanted to book the flights already, but they still didn't post full information on the event itself. And by that time the tickets will probably cost a small fortune. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/geof.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':geof:' />

This is pretty common handshake event practice in Japan. Come buy our thing, get a handshake. If we run out of tickets, so sad for you. That's all well and good if the event is taking place at your local CD store and the only harm is for you to go home disappointed, but for anyone traveling...

It's amazing how little Japanese agencies seem to understand about their overseas fanbases. They always underestimate the turnout and fail to understand that the foreign fanbase is spread out over greater distances. Kikka has been the only act so far that I think things have gone smoothly for, but that's because they did the opposite - they overestimated. So it was good for us but probably bad for them.

Good luck guys! If you do get to go, tell them about blog! project.

To be clear, I put all the blame of incompetence on the French side of the deal. UFA or whoever in Japan does not need to realize the potential demand in Europe, it's up to the local organizers to figure it out and put proper logistics in place. So far, they are failing pretty bad at that.

I fed some comments from the French announcement on fb through a translator and it seems that organizers are getting a lot of well-deserved flak from anyone even outside of Paris, not just people outside of France. See below. This does not inspire any confidence at all, and honestly I expect a total disaster at this point.

But we may go anyway, if only to be witness to what will be known as the 2012 Paris Hard Rock Cafe Riots in the history books...

Basically, you're not even sure to get in until the day of the handshake --'
There will be enough CDs for everyone!? Personally, I have to take a plane or train, if I go to Paris for nothing, it will not do.
Why there is in France that the events of H! P are so poorly organized? Can you tell us how many days in advance must be camping outside the cafe to hope for a ticket?
The idea is to average people who live far away, not that I mind camping ca 10 hours for me to be sure to have an album (and a ticket if all album sales have), but what bothers me c is not to ps be sure to come and get my album. expect other information before bitching, but it is clear that it is not as well organized as our colleague thai, them it's been a while since everything is settled
therefore, all albums have a ticket? and sold the place ... so basically it's first come first served basis :/
Well, I do not want my comment to be poorly interpreted by Bishi-bishi, especially since I do not really know who is responsible for the organization. Remains that the procedure seems announced "first come, first served" basis, with sales up on the day of the event, is NOT the way to go. This will create a lot of frustrated and disappointed, unnecessary travel and lost time. Distance selling, before the event, as in Thailand, is more appropriate. In this case, only those in possession of a ticket queue: less stress, less wasted time, better atmosphere, ... And it avoids many to make the trip for nothing (long and expensive trip for many of us).

Finally the handshake tickets and resevation info:

To participate in the event, you will have to buy the album on the spot. The album contains a ticket which is the precious door opener to the “Handshake“.

For the reservation for the album, you have to register ONLY from October 11th (from midnight, CET) to October 14th (until 11:59pm, CET) by sending an email to: bbmorningmusumeparis@gmail.com with the following information:

- email subject: Registration for ~THANK YOU~ Worldwide Handshake à Paris

- email body: name, first name, e-mail, phone number.

You will receive a confirmation email specifying you to come to the event with your ID and €25 in cash. These elements are mandatory to get the CD and to take part in the event.

Date: Octobre 30th, 2012 (Tuesday) from 3:00pm

Place: “Hard Rock Café Paris“; 14, Boulevard Montmartre, 75009 Paris, France (www.hardrockcafe.com/paris)

We accept only cash for the CD purchase.

They failed to mention if the number of tickets will be limited, so you probably should still hold back planning your trip until you get a confirmation email. Reservations are limited to one per person, so at least there's that.

€25 for a European version is a bloody ripoff anyway.
