It's not a spoiler when everyone is bitching about the series because of him. Now it's motivation for people to finish the game.

And I don't recall you ever playing the Assassin's Creed games Ap, so do you really care or are you arguing the principle? hahaha

Both.

I've played the first one and bought the second one just this summer. I know I'm late.

By the end of the second one you will get a hint of what we're talking about, and if you play the two sequels to that one, you'll want the same thing as the rest of us. Image

Oh good, now I don't feel like a jerk for saying I also started hating Assassin's Creed because of all the spin-offs... which I never played. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hawhaw.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hawhaw:' /> After the Kingdom Hearts every-console-but-the-ones-I-have spin-offs, I really started hating them... and then Assassin's Creed started doing it.

Brotherhood was a great game, probably the best in the series, but I skipped Revaluations since it became a yearly cash grab then. Apparently the Altair and Ezio story parts in it are really good though.

And for the record, I loved 3. Connor is my favorite of all of the Assassins in the series by far.

In Your Arms Tonight - android otome game

I bought Kippei and Kiyoto's routes

This game is unique because instead of having a dumbass 16 year old heroine, you have a dumbass 31 year old heroine. Yay progress! Anyway, you're out having some drinks after work and on your way home you see your husband dry humping some chick in a taxi and now you have several guys to choose from to rebound. Not all the routes were available yet, but you get your boss, your coworker, your bartender, your high school bf, your husband, and your husband's friend to choose from if you so desire.

Kippei (the boss) is the cold tsundere type and his route was kinda boring because there wasn't enough masochist moments that make routes like that worthwhile. Anyway, the best part was the game of how big of an asshole is your husband. You see, our lovely heroine has this idea that even though she catches her husband cheating on her nearly every chapter, she's going to remain a loving faithful wife and somehow make it work. Meanwhile the guy is basically all "Divorce his cheating bitch ass so I can put my peepee in you". My favorite quote from the husband was when he said all men cheat on their wives, and she should be thankful to cook, clean, and have his children while he goes out and gets all the extra poon he wants. And this stupid bitch was still like 'herrrrrrrrrrrr I dunno anymore I'm going to be a bitch to the guy that's nice to me because my husband waaah wahhh".

The other interesting part of that route was the lead's obligations to her parents. She wanted to stay in the relationship because her parents would be upset if it ended. Harhar does Japan even have any form of feminism? Jesus Christ. Yes, I am thinking of things like this instead of what you're supposed to be thinking of when playing these games.

The second route I played, Kiyoto (the bartender that is 11 years younger than you), was actually interesting and dare I say it enjoyable. Instead of a total dumbass heroine, she had balls and wouldn't take any of the young guy's shit. It made for an interesting and fun may-december romance. To go with her balls, she actually doesn't go with the good end and divorces her husband without the guy waiting in the wings because she did it for herself. Hol-ee shit this is some heavy shiz compared to the first route get it gurl. The only thing that was rage worthy was when she ran into her husband and his mistress at the bar and realized the perfume he gave her (after she commented that he smelled like said perfume one day) was the same perfume his mistress wears and didn't say or do jack fucking shit. Bitch come the fuck on. But I'll let it slide since she wasn't a complete idiot in this route - but don't get me wrong, some moments I was rolling my eyes so much I powered the space age into a new era.

Oh, the art and CGs aren't anything special. In fact, the two guys I played kinda looked the same...

I still don't have ACIII (waiting for those sexy holiday sales) but my BF totally surprised me today with a Assassin's Creed Liberation Vita. Image Image Image

So, based on my 10 minute-ish gameplay:

1. I like new assassin chick, but her accent is a little annoying. After all these otome games, I'm glad to finally play a girl that can actually do something. >>

2. Oh, so she's female we get a "dress up" gameplay mechanism added? Hmph. (I have no clue if AC3 has "personas" like this one does)

3. God fucking dammit I hate those fucking eagle eye find the small item in this huge box area and it's in the very beginning missions ARGHHHHH I CAN NEVER FIND THEM YOU GUYS DON'T UNDERSTAND IT TAKES ME FOREVER ALWAYS

4. WTF it glitched out on a ten minute gameplay!

5. Holy shit that screen is nice. It's gorgeous. I sit there in awe of it. Wow. That screen. RPGs will be a pleasure on this because the text will be clear as day.

I don't know how far I will get in AC:L, because once Virtue's Last Reward is in my grubby little hands I'm going to be playing the shit out of it. My love for visual novels has really blossomed this year. I wish I could figure out how to install Steins;Gate and some other VNs that require you to be changing system locales around to play.

Been playing Zero Escape: Vitrue's Last Reward, the sequel to 999, which was previously discussed.

It's been absolutely amazing so far. I am almost at the end and I can say that as much as I enjoyed 999, this story is even better.

Oh baud, I bought a bunch of stuff off the new PSN a few days ago. But first, the new PSN is really slick. It makes every game look more appealing. I know a number of these I probably wouldn't have considered if they were still in the old store.

I'm just getting back into Chrono Cross. Man, I forgot how about the story and I was literally sitting there just crushed after the first incident (because, yes, spoiler ambiguity for fifteen year old games so sue me). Anyway, the combat system is kind of everywhere, but it's not too difficult yet, so maybe I'll get better honed. The big thing that gets me is that it just feels dated. All the character portraits have that bubbly look and the music just is everywhere. And I can't tell if Kid is supposed to have a British or Australian accent.

I've only scratched the surface on Tokyo Jungle, but man, surprise of the century. There's no way to describe the tangibly fun feeling of the game. The trailer just doesn't do enough justice. That said, I'm calling it now: the humans killed themselves off by domesticating so many animals and they revolted and destroyed humanity duh. SO DUH. Super obvs. Anyway, it's fun.

Speaking of things that are similar to dungeon crawlers, I got FTL: Faster Than Light on PC last week. Wasn't as complicated as I thought it would be, but I wish the final boss was easier, especially on easy mode. I may or may not have spent an hour at work playing it if that could or could not be an indication of how awesome and addictive it can get.

I also grabbed Everyday Shooter from the PSN and hot damn if that's not an indie game if I've ever seen one. It's a music-based dual stick shooter, but (from as far as I've gotten) the music is just a guitar track and you only can shoot 8-direction, not 360 degrees. I might play it some more, but it's very slow for what should be a fast genre. Plus there's absolutely no menu design.

Oh, and the coup de grace: Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Love it. Love everything about it. It loads much faster than 6/DR/w/e, it looks great, and it's supposed to have a storyline (though probably not canon). It's never really explained, but what I understood from beating arcade mode was Unknown sets up the tournament and uses it to lure out the strongest fighter alive and uses Jun's body as a proxy. Btw, in Jun's ending movie, it looks like she's alive at the end, so maybe she'll be coming back in the next game? Fucking canons. Shoot canons out of a cannon. Let's do that. The music is absolutely stunning and if you hate it, you can set your own custom songs for each stage including the various menus or somehow unlock ALL of the previous Tekkens' music tracks and use those. The customize system is cool, though the clothing feels very...Target. Through what was DLC, a bunch of characters have outfits from some designer and now everyone can look like they're going to the mall. Gurl, we're talking Heihachi in some fuax-Ed Hardy shit. There's also swimsuits for nearly everyone too. I haven't tried the online mode yet, but offline arcade and versus plays really nice. Snoop Dogg also has a hilarious (in concept alone) presence and it's just a light-touch. Overall: fantastic. I paid full-price for the digital copy and I don't regret it at all (though it's ilke 18GB!).

I also got Worms Revolution, but I haven't played it yet. If it's the one I think it is (a fact I probably should have confirmed before buying it), I'll love it.

Glad to hear it. The obvious route would be some Wall-E, damn-humans route, though that doesn't explain the dinosaurs, so I'm strapping in.

I loved Tokyo Jungle too. :D And the storyline is a bit... well, you'll see.

I'm waiting for VLR to come in today please don't come in too late~ I'm so excited! 999 was one of my favorite games last year.

Until then, I finally got up enough nerve to change my system locale to Japanese and have been able to get some visual novels up and going. The otome games are messing up the worst. I think I permanently ruined one because I can't uninstall and I can't repair/reinstall it. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> But it's on a who cares at the moment, because I finally get to play Steins;Gate and the Infinity series. :D I'm wary of getting Sayu no Uta, I already know the plot, but I do like a good scary story, but that story is just plain fucked up.

There's a program called AppLocale that you can use to boot up Japanese language programs that makes it so you don't have to change your whole system over, so that might be easier on you.

Roughly 50% of the VNs I play have puzzle gamplay implemented. One I got is an SRPG, in fact. And the ones that aren't, well, that glorious country you've decided to dedicate your career to calls them vidya games.

Well, I also think some Adventure games are barely games at all, since they got so few gameplay elements and even if they're there, they're very simple.

TellTale's BTTF Adventure is such a case that is borderline-DVD-menu, but it was still very entertaining. I just see it more as a "what if" mini-series of my favourite Trilogy, not so much as a game.

Same goes for the visual novel thingies that don't have any real gameplay, they're a book where you click through the pages.

Of course there are games in that department that do have other elements as well, but then they're not classic VNs anymore and probably mislabeled.

I mean, I wouldn't call Baldur's Gate a VN, just because it has a shitton of dialogue, eventhough nowadays it might sell better in Japan because it's labeled as such.

Also, I like my ass salty and thus tasty. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />

I can understand one not considering adventure-style games as games, but for me it's almost a process of elimination. As long as the game includes puzzle-solving mechanics, or at the very least, the ability to make intelligent decisions (as in, using information gained previously and not a "pick door A or door B blindly" situation) then it's a game. To use 999/VLR as examples, I can't see myself classifying that as anything other than a game. I certainly can't get that kind of experience from a book or a TV show/movie.

Doesn't really matter I guess, though. If it's an enjoyable experience, then it doesn't matter what you call it. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

On another note, I just want to say that I was not expecting the excellent english voice acting in VLR. Especially Zero III (not really a spoiler but just in case.) Might be one of my favorite english voice acting jobs ever.

I know, I know I was excited for this game, but I stumbled to PSN Store and with PS+ I got Uncharted Vita, Gravity Rush, Final Fantasy Tactics, and a d/l mini game free. Whoa, dude, whoa. I wanted to play Uncharted and Gravity Rush, so this is a win-win. :D

Enjoy!

If you're playing the 3DS version, don't save in any puzzle rooms. It sometimes corrupts your save file.

And if you're wondering which paths to choose first: I suggest saving the Cyan door for last as the most major of plot advancements happen beyond that point, and besides, you need other endings first before you can complete most of that path anyway.
