My most anticipated video game of the 2010's(that we know of) releases in just three weeks.Image

Not buying anything else in that time because it is only available for too much yen.

Three weeks has passed and it is every bit as great as I hoped. If you like SRPGs and/or mecha-themed anime, you should give it a chance and you might agree.Image

I love the SRT series, but it's just not the same without the mech franchises in it so I'm not too big on the OG spinoff.

I'm not sure why, but I've always liked the OGs better. Maybe because they were what got me started on the series.

edit: better reason: Because the original characters/robots are my favorite part of any SRT and the OG games have all of them.

I love persona, but I always grind to hell and back in the dungeons. I see persona I want "oh it's only a couple of levels" grind, go to fuse, see persona "oh it's a couple of levels" rinse repeat and all of a sudden the boss of the dungeon is hitting close to nothing damage-wise on me. Image

Since I'd beaten the original a few times, I was all "I'll just put it on easy and cruise through it," and I was level 99 with everyone halfway through Naoto's dungeon. A little too easy.

I'm the exact opposite.

I only ever did each level exactly once, since it was so tedious and a complete chore.

Decided to finally tackle my endless backlog of Steam games...

[spoiler2]
Steam_backlog_05-12-2012.jpg
[/spoiler2]

Some of these I've already played and some I'm actually going to deinstall, since I've either already finished them (TQ and Stacking) or am fed up with (LA Noire). But the big majority are games I still want to finish or haven't even started yet.

I wish everyone would shut up about Dark Souls already. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I lost could how many times did I have the "drop everything and play Dark Souls NOW" conversation with my friends. Yes, I want and intend to play it, but not until I'm done with the 3 or so games I'm already playing. Which optimistically will be some time late next year, considering the amount of my free time. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... dammit.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' />

BTW, after checking the place out in person, New Vegas hardly looks like Old Vegas at all. But if you watch Diamonds are Forever you may notice a few pleasant surprises.

You have no clue how much time I spend on things involving Dark Souls outside the game. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... stling.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

It's like back in school (university) when you see your schoolmates (students) and talk about the newest Mario 64 tactics (Bossfights, PvP etc.) and when you get home you read your console magazines (Dark Souls wiki/boards) and occasionally write them a letter or call the Nintendo Hotline (writing on boards).

My life has been oozing this game the past weeks.

I just discovered the magic of Scribblenauts Remix. Now that it's 99 cents, I figured, why not.

I got Titan Quest to give away for Steam. I think it doesn't include the add-on though.

If anybody wants it, just send me a PN and I will send you the key.

No strings attached, I got it for free when I bought the THQ Humble Bundle, since I paid more than the average price.

EDIT:

Valerie got it.

Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition for free (GOG)

Metro 2033 for "free" (Steam) ("free" because you need to have fb and give them a like; I don't even know if it still works because someone who does have a fb account wouldn't help checking it for me <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/meh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';/' />)

Also... I'M SO GLAD TO SEE THAT THE HUNDRED BUCKS I GAVE THE CARMAGEDDON REINCARNATION GUYS IS BEING PUT TO GOOD USE:

Hah, I thought I'd do the same with the Metro 2033 key, but it's under one key with other games and "Steam won't generate giftable copies of games you already own". <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/geof.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':geof:' /> But then, see above.

I can understand not getting extra keys, since the price is already pretty low (decided to pay 10$).

Finished The Walking Dead. Was playing it with a friend who constantly gave me shit about my choices (especially dropping Ben and pushing Omid). I was playing on my friend's computer and account because he's too cheap to get it for me for Christmas, so I'll probably play again on my own account sometime.

I so teared up at that ending... T_T

I don't understand why people get emotional at the ending.

I saw it already miles ahead what was going to happen, it was pretty clear to me in episode 3 already and episode 4 cemented it.

I figured something like that would happen early on (and duh episode 4 made it obvious what would happen :P), but being in that moment was so tough. Did you play it as the episodes came out or did you wait? I waited and played it over the past 2 weeks or so and it was heart-wrenching.

I remember that from E3. Fantastic in-engine visuals paired with David Cage's brand of just-off storytelling. I just wish anyone other than him could write QD's story's.

I started Saints Row: The Third finally. Only a few hours in and it's alright. I was playing with some friends over, so I don't really know what's happening exactly or why. I'm planning on figuring out how to gamecast it and I'll start over and stream it. Overall, I think it's okay, but the driving and shooting just feel middle-of-the-road.

Still playing the hell out of Tekken Tag 2 also, but the level of online players is a major hurdle for me.

Similarly, I played Super Monday Night Combat on a group livestream last week and it was...messy. Just too complicated for me. :\

THQ went Chapter 11. I guess the bundle didn't help them that much. If they scrap Metro Last Light now I'll be pissed.

Nice deals on amazon.com. Most are Steam keys, so doesn't matter where you live.

Also, the Steam Sale is on, in case you still didn't notice. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Fun times on the stream tonight!

I cracked open BIT.TRIP VOID, a new BIT.TRIP game and I beat it in under an hour. That really disappointed me because the other BT games were much more difficult and longer. It released on the 19th and it's already on sale and beating it just wasn't satisfying.

I also started Super Meat Boy for the first time. A little frustrating, but that's the nature of the beast here. It's fun and actually improved from watching Indie Game The Movie. The learning curve is masterfully handled so far, but I hope it keeps the modest pace.

If you want to see the stream, it's archived here.

Metro is not developed by an internal studio, it's a contract work.
