It's weird. Reina definitely sounds live, and the group lines sound live, but there are times when Haruka and Masaki do not sound live. Haruka, especially. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nfused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Does it sound like that to anyone else?

Jeez, Mizuki is super hot and sings nicely. Not that I didn't know that already, but every time I see her it gets incrementally better. I want more of her ASAP.



Ayumi is a rare breed of bad singer in H!P... her voice comes out strong and clear, but she can't hit notes to save her life. I hope she can improve that without resorting to the strained sort of voice the H!P vocal coaches seem to prescribe to "help."

This is pretty much any idol group now besides Idoling!!! or MomoClo.. They mix some pre-recorded singing with some live singing for an entirely boring show (or just flat-out lipsynch.) While MomoClo are awful singers most of the time (mostly because of their dancing,) I at least give them some credit for trying to sing live.

Hmm, I listened to that performance (because I like Futsuu no Shoujo A) and this had me thinking - could they have grabbed Masaki's and Haruka's pre-processed studio vocal tracks, and then mixed it in to let Reina sing live and the other two to lip sync?



I get what Andrei is saying - the two kids have some flat notes here and there, but the lack of echo or the feedback or something in their vocals sounds like it came from the studio version.

Like I said, it is fairly common now, especially with AKB (they'll let a few of the veteran members sing live and others lipsynch in the same song) and I have noticed it with a number of H!P performances in the last few years too.

Chiming in with AEUG that that's extremely common. For the most obvious example, there were plenty of performances back in the day with Koharu where everyone BUT Koharu sang live. It's not uncommon and it's not complicated as far as editing the song goes, so it's entirely possible Shoujo A is like that.



EDIT: And man I would LOVE to hear someone in AKB sing live. I'm not being sarcastic, I've just always wanted to hear them live at least once.

Also, I know Ayumi has trouble hitting some notes, but I love Daisuki 100manten in a way no words can describe, and that was an adorable, energetic performance. They both have that idol je ne said quoi, to be sure.



But yeah, like Miss Moonlight said, I hope the H!P vocal coaches don't screw her up further.

Look up their appearances on Domoto Kyoudai or GIRLS' FACTORY, there's a good amount of footage there, if you can still find the episodes. No Sleeves, Watarirouka 7, French Kiss, and AKB as a whole have appeared on these shows a few times, and neither show allows lip-synching (except on really rare occasions) so there's quite a showcase of what they actually sound like, and both shows feature live bands, too, so they're some of my favorite live performances from these groups ever.

But it was live! If it wasn't, Haruka and Masaki wouldn't have messed up on a few parts. I know they do the live AND lipsyncing thing (I've seen it several times), but they weren't doing it here. It doesn't sound like it, and it doesn't make any sense for them to do it with this song and with these people.

Maeda Atsuko will forever be one of the most phenomenally untalented front girls ever. At least she's aware of it, haha.

I'll never understand why Japanese shows always have Korean groups lipsync, considering the groups pretty much never lipsync in Korea. I'm guessing it's a matter of not having time to learn the Japanese lyrics, especially in the case of SNSD, who are lucky to spend more than a week at a time in Japan. SME truly mistreat their artists =/ 3 hours of sleep is a good day for their idols.



Haruka continues to be flawless (although I've heard her sound much better, tbh) and Tsunku continues to give her zero recognition! :D

Yep, she said that ever since the beginning and always said it until the day she left, she was just a victim of being pushed by the media and management agencies. She honestly doesn't sound that bad in the video I posted, but Takamina fucking up the backup vocals makes Acchan sound way worse.

As for singing live or not, often it's a case of if the venue is capable of it or not.



Also I didn't think anyone was saying that AKB not singing live all the time was a reason they are not as good as MM but rather people saying they hadn't ever seen them sing live.



Personally it comes as zero shock that an idol group would lip sync sometimes, it comes as a shock that people are shocked by it

I was glad we were finally free of this AKB in nonrelated thread nonsense, and now it starts again. Don't be starting the new year with this again. It's one of the two things that made the board intolerable earlier this year. I'm going to jump ship on H!P chat if this is going to be prevalent again.
