Hi guys I got my Wii U set up and am playing Super Mario Bros. U. I really like it even though all these games are the same at this point. I also got Kirby Dream Collection from my mom for Christmas, which is an awesome trip down memory lane, and our roommate got me some Sakaguchi Hironobu game called "The Last Story". I've yet to check that one out because I've barely been home but I'm looking forward to it.

I own The Last Story, but haven't played it yet >> I'm still on Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii, but it gets shoved aside for portable games Xenoblade is incredible, btw. If you're an RPG fan I rec it. Or at least grab the OST because it's the best I've heard in a long time.

Can I laugh here at Metacritic putting those BS scores (only 8 aggregated) to make Walking Dead ahead of Persona 4 Golden? Lulzzzzz

I've been playing P4 Golden and Virtue's Last Reward when I get a chance, so today I spent an afternoon playing VLR and finished up all the endings except Phi's.

I get to the Q Room see the cube, see the explanation, put the Vita down and said "FUCK THIS SHIT" It may be cheating, but I don't even want to play through that crap. I may just guide it all so I can find out what the ending is. I think Tenmyouji is Junpei and the old lady that died is Akane? The timeline is weird with Clover, but I'm sure they have some sort of time travel explanation for that thing. >> And the Old Lady was really outside of her character from 999, but if Tenmoldy is Junpei, then she has to be Akane imo lol On another note, I'm disappointed one of the funner subplots in 999 is completely tossed aside with sensibleness in this game.
The Q room isn't as hard as it initially seems. I had a similar reaction as you, but once you realize a certain thing about the central mechanic, things get easier: (the following is a hint) there's usually only two or three cubes on each wall, and they are all connected in bunches, like battleship pieces. It's not like a minesweeper board with mines all over the place.
Whooo! I got it!

And now I see the new puzzles. Specifically... DICE AW HELL NO!!!!! The first one was such a PIA.

But lol time travel, I forgot there were 3 people frozen and thawed out

edit - finished it!

OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Dragon Nest! I started playing it when the beta was opened, but my computer died shortly after and when I got a new one, I never reinstalled it until a month or so ago. Ever since, I've been hooked!!

Still no sign of Sayumi's character, even though she's indirectly mentioned all the time. It really is Sayumi's character.

Does anyone else play it? If we're on the same server (I'm on both the Velskud and Argenta servers), send me your usernames!

In case you missed any of the GOG Xmas deals, they're all back for one day. That is, for the next 14 hours.

I've bought Miasmata during the sale. It was the only game I was really looking forward to to get.

It's as interesting, fascinating and atmospheric as I've hoped it to be. It reminds me of Stranded II, which unfortunately nobody played, in certain ways and it comes somewhat close to the experience of being alone on an island and you have

I'd love for there to be a second part that has more survival stuff in it, like hunting for food and building huts.

PUCCI DID YOU GET THE SECRET PHI ENDING TOO? you have to beat all the rooms on Hard difficulty to get it but since you have all the escape codes already it's super easy to do.

Miasmata and Hotline Miami are probably my #1 and #2 (in that order) game from the ~10 games I've bought during all these winter sales.

Hotline Miami just one thing and then blew my mind, though I feel like I shouldn't explain why. Even this might be too specific... oh well !

The beats keep pumping you with adrenaline and music to kill people. You try to be as fast and efficient as you can, which most probably leaves you with a weird feeling afterwards.

The bosses suck however.

EDIT:

Oh and the OST for the game is the best album I've heard in many years since MGMT's nearly perfect Oracular Spectacular from late 2007:

I've been playing Dust: An Elysian Tale for most of the night. I'm really liking it. So many downloadable games have been far better than retail titles that I hope the industry takes note.

Yeah, I was scared to start it because I heard that saves on games that use Wi-Fi didn't transfer over to the Wii U (turns out they transferred fine) so I didn't want to start it before I was able to do the transfer...which I had to do at my dad's house because he had the available plugs and stuff for me to plug both systems in at once. LONG STORY. Then I got sick and couldn't concentrate on an RPG but maybe I'll start it tonight or tomorrow while Ryan's at work.

I've been mainly playing Kirby Dream Collection. I will never get sick of playing the same Kirby games over and over again. Kirby's Dreamland 3 is a MASTERPIECE.

I've been hearing that Spec Ops: The Line wasn't a very good game, but did some interesting things with storytelling, so I was interested in playing it, but not interested in paying any real dollar amount for it. However, it's on sale for $7.50 on Steam, so I figure it's worth checking out at that price.

I've been playing the hell out of Mechwarrior Online for the last week. I've loved the franchise since the original games (and the Battletech tabletop), and I'm having a blast with it. It's definitely one of the most fun free to play games I've tried. It plays great and really brings in the mech sim aspects of the originals with all the customization. My callsign on it is Al Kusanagi, if anyone else happens to be playing.

I started playing Pokemon again. I have a working Gameboy Color and working Blue and Crystal versions, but I didn't want to deal with constantly replacing the batteries in the GBC, so I just played LeafGreen. Actually, I was going to play FireRed* but you can't get Vulpix which evolves into my favorite Pokemon, Ninetales.

*We have two LeagGreen cardridges and one FireRed.

Well, at least now we know why Fatlus hasn't announced a real Persona game in so long.

Wind Waker luckily isn't just the original running in 720p, which would have been quite frankly useless (I can emulate it in 1080p). This coming out in autumn already is very surprising.

Kinda ironic they at the same time announce a Zelda that supposedly abandons some traditions (which is long overdue and much needed).

NO WAY. Who'da thunk that Nintendo would announce a bunch of first-party games and remakes?

Anyway, I haven't really played many games in a while, but 3 words right now:

Metal. Gear. Revengeance.

The demo came out today, and jesus fucking christ. This game is beyond words for me. It takes everything that a 3rd person Japanese melee action game should be and wraps it all up in the Metal Gear world, complete with codecs, stealth, metal gear units, and the whole 9 yards. The combat system is the most fun action game system I've played in quite a while, and I'm still working on getting better at the countering system and learning the strengths of the sub-weapons. Why can't this be out already?

Also, Resident Evil Revelations announced for 360 today, fucking awesome news. Its my favorite 3DS game so far and one of my favorite RE games, and now its getting a graphics overhaul, some new content, and a better online mode. I played the original over 150 hours and still never finished anything, I can't wait for this upgrade.

I have been the last 2 days, lots of people have been pissing me off, especially in the idol communities :D (other ones more than this one, for what that's worth)

And Fire Emblem is only half third-party, since FE is Nintendo FP, and Xeno-whatever-the-hell-I-dont-care is licensed as a first-party game being fully published by Nintendo, so may as well be first-party. You also didn't mention MARIO, MARIO, MARIO, and YOSHI, also announced for Wii U today or yesterday.

More people should play Anarchy Reigns. It is just the thing for anyone who enjoys horrifically murdering friends and strangers online, but also supports stricter gun control laws (combat is mainly melee). Also, Platinum Games.

I finally cracked open The Lost Story. It's okay so far (I got really pissed off when trying to lure an enemy onto the bridge in the beginning tutorial run-around) but the Wii's graphics are just sub-par compared to everything else now, so I hope the story makes up for it. I find myself wanting to go back and play PS2 games.

PS2 is way worse than the Wii though, haha. There's just a lot of Wii games that are shovelware and were probably developed in a week and a half so they look like shit. If the devs actually spend time developing it well, the Wii can look pretty good, and certainly better than most things on PS2. MGS games were always the high point for PS2 graphics.

Anyway, I just got access to a PS3 last week and have been checking out a few things. I didn't buy one, I'm using my roommate's, which keeps with my tradition of still never owning any Sony console besides portables, even though I've borrowed them at many points in my life. I figured there's about maybe a dozen exclusive games I've been interested to try, and figured I'd try to knock most of them out all at once, so I bought a crap-ton of used games from GameStop, since you can just return them for full refund within 1 week if you want.

Out of the dozen games I tried, only 5-6 of them were actually worth a damn. I have a couple other games I've already played 100 times on other systems but I might play them again just to get the trophies and shit.

Games I tried that were good:

Ninja Gaiden Sigma

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (kinda..its so censored its hard to tolerate, but still plays well)

MGS4 (Giving it another chance. Tried it when it came out and it was terrible.)

Ico HD edition (Don't like SoTC, though)

3D Dot Game Heroes

Heavy Rain

Siren: Blood Curse (seems good, but its too expensive, and VERY different from the original.)

Journey (could be decent, but I won't pay full price)

Games I tried that suck ass:

Heavenly Sword

God of War collection (these games look awful, even in HD, and don't hold up well with time)

Ni no Kuni

Little Big Planet

Demon's Souls

Really not interested in anything else except a few other over-priced download-only games or games that require the PS Move, which I refuse to buy.
