Happy 20th, Koharu!



I listened to her Kirari Best album yesterday (when it actually would have been her b'day in Japan), without realizing it was her birthday.



Right now, I'm finally listening to the first album by her onetime Milky Way partner, Yuu Kikkawa. It's pretty good.

Tsunku's birthday is on 10/29. He's going to be 44 this year. (He's a year younger then my brother in law.)

Tsunku was born while I was in my second month of high school (Manhattan's High School of Performing Arts, the "Fame" school). Was I listening to anything at the time that might have foreshadowed my 37-years-later discovery of Tsunku's music? I don't recall offhand. (I just emailed my older brother to ask him what records he bought that season, since I usually just listened to his stuff, since he had a job by then and could buy records. For our younger readers: Records are what music came on in those days, the 1968 equivalent of downloads. They were black vinyl circles with holes in them for playing on a "phonograph.")



And I just realized I have a niece who's one day younger than S/mileage's Meimi Tamura.
