I just had a sudden clarity clarence moment...

Buono dumped....

Lovendor appear...

<img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... dammit.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' />
Don't say that. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' />

Buono's still on the H!P website, so they aren't official gone yet.
It should be noted that Buono! just had a concert release in December. Not having new music during the 2 months that Berryz have released a studio album and new single probably is all due to LoVendoR's creation. Because who needs logic? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> (wait, that might work against me, since I'm talking about Up Front)

The point is that Buono! is far from dead.

oh yeh because their last release was so recent too! January 18th and it's only february now right?

January 18th....... 2012

Their last non mini album was released in February 2010....

but yeh totally, Buono isn't dead at all <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... lleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

They're a subgroup, though. They don't need to be releasing three or four singles a year to be considered active.

A mini album and concert DVDs are releases just the same, it's still time and effort that the company is putting toward the group. Clearly because they want them to remain active. Buono! has solo tours, this is way more than some random sub-group that comes out during H!P concerts every once in a while to sing their signature song from 5 years ago. Also SHERBET had as much new content as the average full H!P album.

Regarding not doing full albums, it seems like the change happened when they stopped singing for Shugo-Chara and became an independent entity. (that promotes pizza from time to time <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> ) The anime songs probably drove the frequent single release schedule and the need for full albums. If they didn't believe in the group, they wouldn't have gone far beyond that point.

It seems to be only a matter of convenience to your theory to consider the last release to be 1/18/2012. Why would you mention the single when you already know that they have released more music since that time?

Aren't singles and full albums the breadand butter of any group?

The mini albums came off decent, partenza especially I thought was great.I think I'm a little bitter that while I think Buono! are probably the best group in H!P and yet the one we probably see the least of.

And their sales are terrible despite being awesome too. . . . . . ..

Yeah, seriously.

This is much better than I was expecting. I still can't stand Reina though so I doubt I'll be following them that closely.

They sound so goid, in my opinion. Now all they need is a drummer that is actually part of the band. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... stling.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

I like the sound of the guitar, but I can barely feel the vocals in that clip. The Not Reina girl is really quiet in this clip, I have no idea what to say about her. But this is promising at least.

It really is too bad they didn't start with a full band. I think right after Reina's graduation is going to be the groups biggest chance to become known and it'll be harder if they start throwing in people later. Although it would be cool if they just always used famous people as guest drummers.

It's too much pop than I would like, but much less pop than I have expected. So all is good. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> And I would love if they kept this lo-fi production too, but we do know it won't happen. Still, if they reach the level of awesomeness of Hatsukoi Cider, I'll be happy.

And they should just get Turkey from 7188 to do drums. It's not like he has much to do these days anyway, and they do sound a lot like 7188 right now.

Pretty damn excited for this! I clicked on Nemurenai Yoru first because Melon Kinenbi had a song by the same name <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, so I ended up listening to all the songs... I only planned to listen to one. Tadoritsuitara Itsumo Ame Furi stills needs a bit of work. The harmonies in it were a bit shakey live. I REALLY like Marina's voice, and I hate to compare it to MKB, but she really has a similar sound as Masae. Reina needs to use her big girl voice more often in these songs. She really does sound like a little girl compared to Marina. Rakuyou was my favorite of the bunch. The guitar solo caught my attention. It wasn't anything super extraordinary, but curious to know if it was Marin or Yuki.

Yes! More please!

Are these cover or original songs? Either way, I really like them. They still need their own drummer, but I'm willing to let that go if they continue to be amazing. Also, I wonder if Reina will still wear big bows now that she's the leader of a rock band. Personally, I want her yankee style back.

I'd buy that for a dollar!

I was just hoping they'd be better than Cubic Cross, and so far it looks like they will be be. The fact that we're not disappointed by these clips is a good sign. I remain cautiously excited about this project.

Asahi should never perform Rolling Days (or whatever its called) live because it just sounds like she's screaming at you.

Reina's obviously comfortable with talking on stage by this point in time, but the others don't seem like they are. The others look really timid compared to her, except for maybe Yuka (Still not sure on her name).

She still MCs like she's part of a girl pop group, which is understandable of course. But I wonder if she will start to act more like a rocker over time.

Reina's a poser. We all know she's just a placeholder in the group until Takahashi gets tired of all the plays and wants to unleash her inner rock star.

Japanese idea of mixing rock.

Vocals - 100

Guitars - 1

Bass - 0.5

Drums - 50

Seriously... give me control of that mixing desk for 5mins and Lovendor would sound awesome instead of sounding like a rock band playing a gig through a tube.

Could it just be that it's a video camera mic recording in a crappy room?

I did think that after I posted that actually, JIJI press' audio is usually total shit anyway.

but then even on Buono! DVDs the vocals are too loud and the guitars are too low, I guess it's a pet peeve of mine. I used to do mixing at a recording studio and live shows. There is a lovely balance to be had if the right guy is behind the desk.

but yeh it was probably just JIJI press being audio asshats

I agree with your comments re Buono DVDs, but I just write that off as giving in to the idea that people are paying to see and hear the girls more than the backing tracks. They can't really do that with a "real" band, though, or at least I suspect they won't. I'll be very disappointed if they do.

JIJI always has strange audio mixes. I feel like JIJI handles making b-roll for the news stations and the mixes end up being stripped down like that because a) it's easier to broadcast/talk over and b) they can record that audio quicker. They're pulling from somewhere on the board at those shows.

That show looked awesome btw. Rock version of The Peace with Yossie? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

LoVendoR seems okay. From the clips, Reina and Other mostly just sang in unison, so you can't really tell a whole lot. The mix made it tough, but the guitarists seem capable. I'm really excited for LoVendoR now, so let's just count the hours until they bork it up <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nceman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':danceman:' />

LoVendoR on the new UF LICKS with the full version of their "Tadori-tsuitara Itsumo Ame-furi." Also has a full version of Rolling Days, an Alma Kaminiito song, and Takui doing "Tell Me Tokyo"(?) with a string quartet. Hip thrusting has never been so graceful.
