B-sides galore. God, this setlist is almost as bad as the last one. It would be nice if they did some more old songs. Please let there be some changes in the 12-15 part.

Seriously though, they have all the new girls sing one song together without Sayu and Reina, and they pick the Chocobo song?

In fact, only the medley, 6th gen's song, and Pyoko are the only pre-Colorful Era songs. The fall concert had a bit more variation...

I do agree that it doesn't have much variety and it would be fun every once in a while to see the girls bust out some of my favorite "oldies"... but I'm happy to see all of these b-sides. For one, MM has two types of concerts each year. One is centered around their latest album, the other is a free-for-all. In the past that just mean it was basically a greatest hits tour and that got old fast. They're putting out a bajillion new songs with each single, so why not perform them? Especially since these b-sides are about the only place we get to see half of these girls get significant singing time. When they do older songs they always end up giving the majority of the lines to Reina and Riho anyway, which takes the fun out of it.



I think UFA/Tsunku are really trying hard to rebuild MM. They really want us to take notice of these girls. Songs from the Platinum Era are tied really strongly to Takahashi. Songs from the Golden Era are tied really strongly to the 3rd and 4th gen. Songs from the early days are tied really strongly to Nacchi. I think a lot of those songs are being purposefully avoided. They want to strongly associate these girls with their own songs. Not to mention the fact that this lineup just can't vocally handle the early days or platinum era songs.



As for the lack of Shabondama... I bet we'll see an entirely different setlist on Reina's grad day. I expect to see it there.

I just want to see them pull out other songs from various groups. Even if they're the current groups...The shuffle number from the winter concert was cool, but having smaller groups of shuffled songs was always my favorite part of the concerts. It also gave the other members time to shine.



I remember when Kamei, Tanaka, and Takahashi performed Last Kiss at the Baribari Koharu concert and being surprised that Kamei and Tanaka could pull off the harmony. Probably one of my favorite performances ever. Like that performance, I think the girls need to be given the chance go do something similar. Their last concert did it to a point but none of the songs ended up on the DVD. Even if they are trying to make a new name for themselves, covering Berryz, C-ute, or Smileage would be just as good, in my opinion.



This setlist is nice because it does give the other members the chance to shine, but its weird that this is Reina's ending tour setlist...

There might not be too much new material by the time the fall concert arrives unless they pump out album 14, so hopefully there will be a little more variety then.



Oh, and the Sayu solo is actually the VTR song. She didn't sing it herself live.
