I posted it in the spam thread but my money is on ensuring people buy the dvd version without subs than it is pleasing foreign or Japanese fans. It's clever that way.

Ryan sat and watched this with me and was cracking up at the "whoas" being subtitled as "wows". Our wireless sucks though so the video was all choppy and you couldn't appreciate the dance, which IMO is the best part of this song. Ryan did at least admit that the production in these songs is awesome, even if it's not exactly his cup of tea, which is more than I could say for my mother.

I think the translation was pretty good! It was a little less awkward than Brainstorming's translation was, at any rate.



A B C turned out to be a bit of a disappointment so far, though maybe my opinion will change once I hear it in full and know who's singing what.

"Woah" never is spelled as "woah" though, which is lame imo. As it sounds a lot more like "woah" than "wow."

Yeah, and he knows that after tons of karaoke (because we all know "Whoa" is "wow" and "Wow" is "WAO!") but it's kind of like a joke we have that we laugh about when it comes up.

Oh man, I STILL laugh at "whoa" being "wow." That was one of the weirdest things for me as a teenager getting into Jpop, specifically Ayumi Hamasaki who "WOW WOW WOW"s it up in almost every song.



And I actually like Kimi Sae less with lyrics; it just seems so boring lyrically AND musically. Fan denial of translation now commencing.

Its not really as good as Ai and Nigaki's solo MVs, but I still really like it. The low quality kills me, but i'm assuming it will be uploaded in slightly better quality on the MM YouTube channel, eventually.

I get the feeling that Tsunku is pretty confident of MM making Kouhaku this year, or he wouldn't have the members desiring it so openly.

Almost every group ever has someone who says they want to go to Kouhaku. I don't think it's something that the company would tell you not to speak of unless you have an actual chance. I'm not sure a second number one in a year is all it's going to take to get them another invite. They've still got a long ways to go before it's cool to like them in the mainstream's eyes.
