LoVendoR thread, aka Reina's in a Rock Band

I was really hoping Lovendor would replace Babymetal for me since they're disbanding this year, but this band is not very metal, much less rock.

I feel like each member is pretty good, but they have absolutely NO GROUP DYNAMIC performing together and it makes for a boring performance.

I really hope this gets fixed/addressed because I needs me an idol rock/metal replacement because otherwise once Babymetal disbands I don't think I'm going to want to live anymore.

Suzuka is leaving Sakura Gakuin, but BABYMETAL are going to keep on promoting, so don't you worry anytime soon.

Um, you have officially saved my life. This is awesome (and a much better band, sadly). They don't have the 萌え factor that Babymetal has, but they fulfill my desire for an all-female metal band. THANK YOU!



Sorry to get off topic, but if Lovendor could be 1/10th as good as Babymetal I'd be happy. They're all talented girls individually. They just don't mesh well and frankly, I don't like the arrangements of the cover songs they've done either. I hope it gets better after they've been performing together awhile.

I know, but they're only staying alive until the end of the year is what I've heard. Both of the other girls are in Twinklestars and Mini Patissiere, right? And if they don't get a new lead, then Babymetal is dead. I'm just hoping they get a new album before they're disbanded altogether. So, yeah, I have awhile before they're gone for good but they're still going away and it makes me sad.

I am really upset because I want to say I saw it on the Generasia entry for BABYMETAL but it's not there now and if that's not where I saw it I seriously cannot remember. I am so sorry to repeat a rumour apparently then. Sorry.



EDIT: actually I read something here (I know, it's Tokyohive) but what got me is the following line:

However, during the live, they announced that BABYMETAL would continue their activities though it would be only for a limited time, and they would also hold a live concert at NHK Hall on June 30th, which brought great shouts of joy from the audience of 2,500. There is no information regarding their detailed activity period at this moment.

That's what made me think they're disbanding. It sure sounds like they are, despite the "there is no information" line at the end. I guess I'm just a doomsayer.

They're all covers because their first album is a cover album, but as far as I know, the music is Tsunku.

I actually like the radio rips better then the low quality live stuff that I've seen on YouTube.

I think the image of this band is what's confused me. When they say "rock" band, I think of a certain image, and this band doesn't fit my image of "rock."

If I think of it more like Hello!Pro goes Keion!, then I feel like I get it more and the studs and black leather are just a costuming thing that doesn't really mean anything.

Now that I think of them as a high school light music club done idol-style, I like them a lot more.



I really don't care for their cover of Nemurenai Yoru, but the cover of Kyou made Soshite Ashita kara is nice. Kind of mellowing.

Not at all what I'd expect from a "rock" band, but I can enjoy it.

I have to be honest, I was kind of disappointed in this band for a while, but I'm back to loving it again. Since the beginning, I've been comparing them to SCANDAL because no girl band will ever be better than SCANDAL, to me, but I'm kind of happy that they aren't like SCANDAL. They still need a bassist and a drummer, not just guests, but most importantly, they need more original material. . . even if they're existence is in its early stages.

When they announced it as a "rock band" I took that with about a tablespoon of salt, because I knew it wasn't going to be anything like what I'd expect but rather this pop-rock fake-hard-image kind of crap. I was really hoping for something like HANGRY&ANGRY's "Kiss Me Kill Me" type sound (I know that's a little more gothic but it's what I thought of), but it seems that they are far from that.

Wow. This is impressive in a bad way, because the first thing of a graduate member release usually sells the best and then things would go downhill from there. 
There are only a thousand hardcore Reina fan? I don't mean to bring in AKB in this, but a really unpopular AKB member may sell more than this.

I am so mean I just want to say ha-ha in Reina's face, because no member can break the curse of not-so-successful career after graduation.
But seriously, Reina jump the MM boat to land on this new band and she seems to put so much effort in this (more than her dancing for the last couple singles)... Wonder if she will ever regret this
