Ayumi has always been pretty, but the black hair and crazy eye thing didn't work well for her.

I've recently started thinking she looks pretty too and she climbed a few spots on my bias list lately. I really don't think she was that pretty when she joined.

Not as expensive as the studs and zippers on the Brainstorming costumes.  The detailing on those were amazing, must have busted the costume bank.

This is an in between single. I think being a double A-side means they are spending money on it, but they're not throwing wads of cash at it. 
 
I'm ready to see the other outfits! 
 
I'm not a very patient person. I'm sure the dance shots will be up soon, though.

I like the outfits, but that dance is just awful. I especially loathe the way each girl has to raise her hand when she's singing. It looks super weird when there's 3 random girls in a line raising their hands. 


Also I guess it's the lighting, but everyone looks like a ghost. And I'm hoping the full PV has some sort of theme that makes the random trees make sense? 


As for the song itself, I'll need to give it a proper listen later when I'm not on my shitty work speakers with the volume super low. It's definitely a departure from the last several singles.

I went in fully expecting crap but this was a really nice breath of fresh air. I like it. Outfits are adorable.

Welp, so much for the #1 string. The chorus is nice, but ends very weakly and the verses and instrumental sections are just bleh. The horns could have been okay if it wasn't mixed with that faux-Skrillex vocal editing and half-beat. Either way, both are pretty much ignored for the chorus anyway. I think it'll sell well, but #1 would need really a strategic release date.
 
The dance is so pointed, but isn't very sharp and feels very handsy. It's nice they've embraced a fanbase that is really interested in dance covers (because how would you know who was singing in a dance cover if they weren't raising their hand?), but it feels like they're just going through the motions and dance fans will start to lose interest. It's hard to look at the dance shot as representative of the music video, but what's the deal with the trees? The girls felt cramped between them like the soundstage wasn't very big. 
 
Also holy fuck those platform boots jeeeeeesus. At least we're getting more member outfit variety again!

I like it so far - the outfits seem stellar. The background with the trees gives me hope that the MV will be a little different than the usual (but then again this is UFA we are talking about). I actually like the song - all the parts seem to fit together cohesively. I'm a big fan of Masaki so I'm glad to see her featured more but definitely agree that there should've been more Sakura. Her voice was always a breathe of fresh air. Well, there's still the other A-side!

That dance really is so, so, awful. The outfits that have pants are my favorite ones. I'm digging the ones that are wearing shorts. I don't enjoy when there's one person randomly using a cute voice. It screws everything up.
 
I hope the other songs is better. This is a downgrade from both of the a-sides from the previous song.

I love the outfits, they're super cute! And I like how swishy the skirts look. The song itself is all right, but it just ... feels very different than usual. I almost want to say that the whole presentation of it reminds me of AKB in a way, but I can't figure out why they came to mind first ...
 
The dance is meh though. Not a fan of the slo-mo goosestepping. Also why trees, what the hell.

The dance shots are usually done right after they learn the routine and a bit out from the actual PV as of late. I'm sure it'll be tightened up a good bit by the time the PV is out.

I don't want Sayu to leave, but for some reason she stuck out in an odd way in the video. She looks great, though. ROBO SAYU FTW.

I'm tired of flailing arms, and I agree that it is kind of stupid to have the girls raise their hands when they sing.

Song doesn't really do anything for me, also because of the autotune.

Kanon is such a good MC I love listening to her talk.
Onto the song. I love the song, a lot really. The dance is pretty cool, except the raising hand part, I don't really understand it. I'm also upset that the background girls didn't even get their customary two words. I feel like they barely sung at all. There was a lot of Masaki but not enough to make me hate it. She's not one of the better dancers so I don't understand why she's in the middle constantly instead of Ayumi maybe. I'm happy with the amount of Mizuki and Riho, but there could have been a lot more Sakura. I'm glad it wasn't a Sayumi loaded song.

1. Suzuki Kanon is really cute! I feel like she's growing up so much in just 2 years.  It was interesting to learn about the "music" in her name.
 
2. I don't really like the song...but the costumes are alright.

I like the song, but it's not sticking. The bridge-y breakdown part was the best part of the whole thing. I also am way tired of the flailing arms dancing though. It was bad in Help Me, and hasn't gotten any better. Glorified arm dances are not any kind of dancing prowess; let the girls show what they really can do.

1. Gundan is like a military troupe. A unit?  I don't know the right terminology.
 
2. These translations are really awkward.  Sounds like they were done by a non-native English speaker.  But it is an official video so my guess is, someone from the company was hired to do them (badly)?

But gundan is a common word - it doesn't have like, epic sounding or old fashioned nuances like "legion."   That is a poor translation, imo, because it takes way too many liberties. 
 
I might just leave it as "troops" or even like "Army of Love." My dictionary says "army corps."
