Has anybody here seen THE COMPLEX? It's a new J-horror film with Atsuko Maeda in the central role. It played here in New York on Tues. July 9th at the New York Asian Film Festival. I was there that night to see RUROUNI KENSHIN, the live-action movie version, and THE COMPLEX played after it at 9:45 PM. I was on the subway headed home after RK when I decided to look more carefully at the program booklet and only then did I notice that the film I didn't stay for had Atsuko in it.

And so it begins... I saw on another board someone saying that there were going to be a lot of graduations around the time of the janken tournament.  They didn't have a source but I feel like it could be true.

Her timing probably has more to do with that the fall semester of her university apparently starts later this month.

Yea I saw that she is a Junior now and in a pretty hard major so she was going to have to make a choice at some point what to do.

From the information that I can find about the Janken thing, it looks like Matsui Jurina and somebody else (I don't know who) won.

Well, Jurina is technically THE winner. She beat Uno Mizuki, who is an NMB research student.

Love that Lovetan (Aika) is finally back in senbatsu! And omg Annin and Rinacchi <3 <3. They all have their own nicknames for this single, but I don't like them so I don't feel like posting it. This song reminds me of a no3b song and it fits Haruna so well! Love the lyrics...heck, I really love everything about this song!

Well Heart Ereki is doing well as expected.  I'm not crazy for that song but its better than some of their recent stuff.

I'm an SKE48 oshi now, just so everyone knows. It's hard to get into AKB48 as much as I was before and that makes me a little sad.

Doesn't that happen with every group eventually? As an aside I subscribed to the AKB YouTube channel and they keep flooding it with videos of the kks candidates and it's really annoying. I have half a mind to unsubscribe till that foolish gimmic is over.
 
im more into NMB, vocally I like them better. Sayaka is my favorite even though I think she looks like a weasel.
 
i also like HKT, but they really haven't released anything I like.
SKE has released a lot of good songs but aside jurina, I don't know anyone in the group.

SKE48 is kinda harder to know in general. But they do have lots of good songs. In a way, It kinda reminds me of AKB48 back in the beginning. The Kenkyuusei canidate thing is annoying. I ended up unsubscribing, now its a lot emptier. I've been listening to the few JKT48 songs their are. There pretty good but I wish the group would release something besides AKB48 covers :(

Welp, I thought this would be my 2nd time in Japan without seeing an AKB show.
I'm not really a fan anymore, but since they are still performing stages I really liked - why the hell not.

Except while I did win a ticket, it's for Team 4 and they're doing S2 revival show. I only know a couple unit songs.. lol.

OH WELL ELEMENT OF SURPRISE
Not to mention, it was REALLY hard to get this ticket. For those of you unaware, tickets for theater are limited to ~250 tickets and it's lottery based. Don't know how many people apply for a given show, but considering they can sell 1 mln CDs in a day, I'm sure it sure is a whole lot.

Thank god for Miichan being demoted to Team 4 too.

Those videos aren't of kks guys.  AKB is doing a baseball draft type event.  The girls picked will be put on teams as "draft members".

I love Te wo Tsunaginagara so I know that stage very well haha. I saw old Team A in 2012 but I was very, very lucky. Seeing Rino before she transferred, Takamina, Acchan, Kojiharu and Mariko all in one go, oh and original HKT before the 5 girls were fired and everything. Best stage. I have a special place in my heart for A6 now.
