Really great stuff. Japan seems to kick out an inordinate number of great female rock musicians relative to their population. I will admit that I don't really follow western rock at all anymore, so someone put me some knowledge: is there anything like this outside of Japan?

I like that the drummer, Hana, is a UFIP girl without being endorsed. She uses them because they rule.

Do you mean similar as in sound-wise? Not that I can think of, but something about the sound feels very Japanese-band to me which might be why.

Well, more the overall experience. Cute girls dressing in cute outfits playing melodic pop-metal with great chops. I love the formula, and there are several bands in Japan like this at the moment. What was the last female rock band from the west to do anything of significance? That didn't dress or sound like the fucking Ramones or dirty lesbians? Rock is just dead in the Anglosphere because rock musicians aren't even trying anymore. Nobody is trying anything different.

This stuff is different. Some of these Japanese pop-metal girls look good enough to be idols, and yet they can straight-up shred. A lot of the songs are really good.

I can't really think of any all-female bands off the top of my head. The ones I'm familiar with are just female-fronted. Image-wise, their style is kind of juvenile which just isn't big in the West at all.

Well that's the thing, western music has to "be "intense" or "keep it real" these days, doesn't it? I'm so sick of all the fucking posing that goes on in the modern American music industry.

I got around to listening to Lorde's album today. I dig it. Glory and Gore is my favorite track.

Rurika Yokoyama, of Idolling, second solo single is great. It's composed by Hyadain and we all know how he's a cool guy.

The "Marshall Mathers LP 2" comes out on November 5th!!!!! We also have official cover art.

I'm so tempted to buy Eminem's new singles individually as they are released*, but I'm holding out to get a physical copy of the MMLP2. This is hard.
*So far singles from the MMLP2 have been "Berzerk" and "Survival" if anyone doesn't know.

Ooh, Eminem's still releasing things. Very exciting. I'll stay tuned. I really enjoyed pieces of Recovery, so I'm looking forward to this.

Recovery as a whole was not very interesting for me, but I will admit it had some very good pieces.

Yeah, not a very solid album from what I could tell, but it had a few standout tracks. And I really like No Love.

But I also really like What Is Love, so it was hard to mess that one up. I REALLY WANT TO HATE LIL' WAYNE, but he releases really good music, so I can't. :cryalot: He was on No Love as a guest rapper, I think, so that probably helped.

I don't know who worked on the album, but I remember reading that the majority of it was written specifically for her.

I'm not sure how many people here follow BiS (I've mentioned them before and I think Q has too) but they have a new member:
Image

"The fashion designer Koshino Junko (コシノジュンコ) joined BiS (Brand-new Idol Society) as a new member.
She passed secretly the audition held by the idol group.
Koshino Junko is going to make her first appearance on November 5 at Hot Denpo Festival 2013 in Tokyo. JK will also participate in BiS upcoming single Koi Suru Denpou Japan (恋する電報Japan).
Koshino Junko, 74 years old, is a famous fashion designer who worked for many brands."

This group gives no fucks.

^ I'm really looking forward to ARTPOP now! After BTW, I nearly wrote off Gaga, but Applause is such an earworm. Only about a week left until it drops~

I got Zedd's new album "Clarity" this weekend and it's really what electro albums should aspire to. Lots of catchy singles, but also stellar production across the board. If you're into dancy-pop, you really can't go wrong with it. (and get the deluxe version for the amazing "Push Play")

My favourite tracks so far are Venus, G.U.Y., Do What U Want, and Donatella. Special mention to Aura and Sexxx Dreams. Swine is also good.

TFM > Artopop > BTW > TF as far as Gaga albums go. My biggest complaint is that Artpop really highlights how awful she is at lyrics. A lot of it is cringeworthy but the overall production is great.
