[2016.12.14] Petit Best 17
Yup, the 17th compilation has been announced!
http://www.helloproject.com/release/detail/EPXE-5091/
http://www.helloproject.com/release/detail/EPCE-7273/
Not sure what predictions can be made considering a couple of groups only had a singular release (Momusu, C-ute, J=J)

This might be the first time in a decade that I care about a Petit Best compilation.

Maybe they'll finally release the unreleased songs (like Wakacchanai or CG's)? Also wouldn't be surprised if Iron Heart made it.

And I may just get it to have something recent from H!P.

I hate to be a nudge, but since Petit Best is usually my first exposure to many of the year's singles, I wonder if there's a tracklist that includes the group name alongside the song title.
Thanks.

I assume that Hiroshi and SWG are remixers themselves, Cherry Brown is the rapper in the song.
Some other random things for ya
-Otona no Jijou and Next is you! is Juice=Juice, but credited as NEXT YOU (their fictional group name for their dorama, Budokan.
-Kiss Yori Saki ni Dekiru Koto is a 2015 song (technically), was never released physically until now & has Tsugunaga, Yamaki, Inaba, Morito, and Ozeki
-KSS included in Higashi no Chihei, Nishi no Towa were Hashimoto Nagisa & Takase Kurumi (there was also Onoda Ayasa & Ishii Anna from the Engeki troupe, Sudo Maasa, and some other unimportant names XD)
-KSS member Kiyono Momohime is in MODE

Curious about whether Cherry Brown is American or Japanese, I did a Google search and found an interview with him on the YouTube Sleeping Dogs website. I can't post links here, but you can just Google "Interview with Cherry Brown AKA Lil'Yukichi" and you should get it. His father is American, mother Japanese. I'm assuming his father is African-American, but he never mentions it in the interview. No mention of the H!P summer concert, but that could be because it might be an old interview (no date is given).

Re: [2016.12.14] Petit Best 17
Almost everything made it to US iTunes except for the NEXT YOU song.
Interesting to look at the Popularity column on iTunes and see what people grab. I wasn't surprised that all the straight up repeats from singles weren't popular, but it seems like the newly available songs from musicals are equally unpopular. At least, not enough to rate a single bar.
EDIT: Refreshing, I guess things have changed since I looked earlier. Now the musical songs popularity things are about half full, while the old tracks are still totally empty.

My copies of this (CD album and Blu-ray) are on their way from CDJapan. Sadly, this package comes at a time when there's a glut of Christmas shipments, so it may take a while to get here. I normally get things in a week from CDJapan (regular mail). But this could take three or four weeks.

Re: [2016.12.14] Petit Best 17
After reviewing the CD, I wish there was more from the 2nd half of the year...there was a lot of great songs after July
Re: [2016.12.14] Petit Best 17
I wish they would have stuck the concert only songs on this album. That would have been a great reason for me to buy the album. After the shuffles went away, there really was no big reason for me to think about purchasing it.
This is a place where a signature goes. Enjoy some Airi instead.

It's nice to be wrong occasionally. My order arrived today, one week after it shipped.

Re: [2016.12.14] Petit Best 17
Wow, what a lackluster collection of PV's on the Petit Best Blu-ray! And it's got three fewer PV's than last year's.
MM and C-ute are represented only by one song each, although we get two different versions of the PV for each. TF only has one song on it. KF gets three songs, Buono! gets two (but three videos). Angerme = two songs. J=J gets two songs and four videos (the most of any group). CG gets two songs.
The PV's mostly follow the same template. Series of silent closeups, then they sing and dance in front of a set or backdrop, then another set of silent closeups. Only two of the videos feature outdoor footage.
There have been a couple of interesting PV's from H!P lately, one from KF (I don't recall the song, but it was shot outdoors at varied Tokyo locations) and "Mukidashi" from MM. Neither is in this collection. And I doubt they'll be in next year's either.
Oh, and true to form, in the Dance Shot version of C-ute's "Jinsei wa STEP," the camera cuts to close shots when they start tapping, so we don't even get to SEE the dance highlight in the Dance Shot!
One good thing about it: Kanon Suzuki, Meimi Tamura and Manaka Inaba are all still there.

So I just listened to the Petit Best album. Not bad, better than the Blu-ray. My only complaint is the "remixed" numbers. I can't stand remixing.
