Re: Club48 :: Where we spam 48 ways to glory!
This appears to have happened a few months back, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in this thread:
Tang Anqi, an SNH48 member, was deliberately set on fire by an angry fan a few months back and is still in critical condition three surgeries later. 80% of her body was reported to be covered in severe burns. A witness account of the incident states:

Recently, a witness who was also dining at the cafe at the time of the incident, says that she saw Tang Anqi crying and making lots of noise, before another girl sitting opposite her poured oil onto her body. The witness says it was definitely not an accidental spill of oil but a deliberate act. Then the girl lighted up Anqi’s clothes and got her body burning. Other witnesses say that Tang Anqi was burning all over within seconds and the girl that was with her just looked on, seemingly not interested in helping her at all. Tang Anqi was eventually rushed to Changhai hospital (Shanghai) for treatment.

A recent update says she's recovering well, and she released a video from the hospital thanking people for their support. The video avoids showing her at all though, so I can assume she's still in a pretty bad state and doesn't wish to be seen yet.
There were a lot of conflicting stories up until the witness statement was released, and I'm assuming Anqi couldn't speak up about what happened until very recently due to her injuries. Someone in the comments of the second link said she had surgery to repair her vocal chords after the attack, so details are only starting to come out now from what I can tell. The incident happened in March, and there's still so little information about what happened, but this coupled with that stabbing attack of the 20 year-old idol just upsets me about fanatics and their unhealthy attachments to celebrities... So sad.

I heard that the person that did it was a friend and not a fan but this was a couple of months ago when it first happened.

Re: Club48 :: Where we spam 48 ways to glory!
It certainly seems weird that she was dining privately with a supposed "fan" rather than a friend, but the attacker is said to be the president of Anqi's fanclub. So I guess that makes her more a fan than a friend in this particular instance.
And yeah, I didn't link any of the pictures of her burning just in case it would've bothered anyone, but there's a very short video of her standing at the top of the stairs, engulfed in flames after it happened. She was completely burning from head to toe, and I can only imagine how much pain she's enduring now because of it. I don't know how she's ever going to rejoin SNH, but she wants to participate in the general elections in July for the group, so I wish her well.
I hope her attacker does some serious time. It takes a very dark evil in someone to watch someone else burn.

Re: Club48 :: Where we spam 48 ways to glory!
I'd never heard the fan part. All the reports say she was sitting in a cafe with a friend and previous to the fire the discussion seemed quite heated. I also read that her clothes were pretty flammable, nothing about oil was mentioned.

Re: Club48 :: Where we spam 48 ways to glory!
Keep in mind that all of this is speculation at this point because Anqi just regained the ability to speak (probably with much difficulty and pain), so no one really knows what happened. If the friend/fan has been interviewed, I can't find a single thing about it. This article identifies the person as Anqi's fanclub leader, "Miyamoto"--and be warned that the article includes the picture of Anqi burning--but there aren't any credible news sources even talking about it, so it's hard to say what's true and what's just a rumor.
A Chinese news outlet would probably be best, but I've also read that her company has taken down articles about the incident, so there's no real way to know what happened right now.
The most interesting thing I've read is that her clothing was not flammable enough for her to have been burned that severely that fast. The media silence has definitely made the speculation and rumors worse, but I find it hard to believe she was flammable enough to erupt that intensely in just seconds. The pictures make it clear that she is burning very intensely from head to toe, and I just can't believe that's possible without a fire-starter. That doesn't mean it's impossible, but it's definitely hard for me to wrap my brain around.

I also haven't heard the part that she was set on fire. In fact, a few reports said she set herself on fire.

Re: Club48 :: Where we spam 48 ways to glory!
Apparently SNH48 has had their contact terminated by AKS. Apparently the creation of BEJ48 and GNZ48 weren't officially recognized by Japan either. I liked SNH48's music a lot, so hopefully they won't be forced to disband.

Re: Club48 :: Where we spam 48 ways to glory!
NMB48 had a concert where they performed without Sayaka, and if they sold out all the seats (around ~8k), she wouldn't be the center for the next single and it would be someone else instead! They didn't, so she will be.
She's also going to release a solo album in October! And do a tour in November! And probably be in the next AKB single too. So much for the group trying to move in a less Sayaka-centric direction.
Also, Takahashi Minami is finally releasing her album in October and you can hear one of the songs here.

Announced during the Janken Tournament (10/10/2016).
The group's Theater will open during Summer 2017. STU48's color is (probably) light-blue.
The group's theater will be on a ship, going between various cities in Japan.
This seems dumb.
