On my recent trip to Japan, I got to see the reunion concert with the five founding members of MM, as well as Tanpopo and Taiyo to Ciscomoon. Plus, six other OGs at another concert that evening. Don't know when I'll get that opportunity again.

I think the song is pretty good, but the arrangement and production really are shit . The classic Japanese pop structure, melodies and harmonies are timeless, though.  
 
Also, I love the fact that Avex is dipping their toe into the Female Duo waters, even if they are being too cautious about it. I'd love to see a Duo era revival even more than one of Solo idols.

This is sad. She definitely made some poor decisions after leaving MM, but that's a hell of a burden to carry. Not everyone is cut out to be an idol.
 
It seems she's trying to capitalize on her MM reunion, though, and released the five song CD, Sing, in March. It's not great -- it sounds like she was going for a retro-theme here -- but there is one highlight: the ballad "Style" is a pretty good song, and she sounds great on it. The rest -- even the remake of "Never Forget" -- are rather, uh, forgettable, though. The production is god awful throughout, with synths and vocals pushed to the front and guitars and drums mostly buried, making this sound more like a demo than a proper release.
 
If I were to hit the lotto, I'd get a legit producer to make a legit album for her, even knowing it wouldn't make shit, just because I think she deserves that much.

UFP is so bad with promotion : Niigaki Risa is coming to Japan Expo for a signing session on Satursday and they didn't announced it yet ! Some fans got to know it because Japan Expo released the complete schedule, of course since it's happening next week, and UFP (or anyone else) didn't made any official annoucement yet. I'm quite mad at them because I'll work on that day (at the JE but chances are very low I'll be able to get free time to go there) and fans outside Paris will also have a hard time to organize their trip last minute and come to see her. UFP .

Yeah, as much as I love Gaki I simply can't go to Paris this weekend. I need at least a few weeks in advance to plan a trip like that.
