Mukidashi de Mukiatte
I hated to do it, but y'all left me no choice. Twitter broke the 4-4 tie:
H!P Twitter didn't fuck around and gave an emphatic win to "Mukidashi de Mukiatte," which was my pre-tournament favorite, although Wake Up Call won me over enough to eventually get my vote. What's crazy is that these songs faced each other in every poll they appeared in until there were no other competitors left but each other. There was no scenario where either of them would miss the Final Round.
This idea was inspired by the conversation in the Reina Ichioka graduation thread. Hoshibe Sho might be in a bit of a slump, but he's responsible for a large chunk of the post-Tsunku H!P classics, so I was gonna do a March Madness type tournament of all his H!P compositions. As the poll functionality of this new board renders that impossible, we'll instead do a series of polls like Shoujo did with MM. I don't have a clever name for it -- Hoshibe no H!P D・N・A!? -- but we do have a mess of great songs. Only songs that Hoshibe took part in composing the music for are included.
I'll do group-specific polls for groups with 10+ Hoshibe songs in their catalogs, and multi-group polls for those that don't. Polls will run for one week.
THE GROUPINGS (total songs)
-----------------
Beyooooonds (27)
Anju (13)
Kobushi (14)
J=J + Country Girls (14)
MM + OCHA (14)
Tsubaki + C-ute + KSS (15)
As you can see, 14 is the magic number. Because Biyo's catalog is so Hoshibe-heavy, their first round will take three polls to complete. After that we'll narrow each group down to a top 3 or 4, then move on to cross-group battles until we have a Final Round to determine the ULTIMATE HOSHIBE H!P BANGER
BTW, I noticed that Hoshibe's credits on his H!P Wiki page is incomplete, so if you realize that something's missing, let me know! I think I got everything, but I thought I was gonna be a rock star, too, and we all see how that worked out.
