I do not remember this. Did it really happen that way? I know Minimoni was on O-ha a lot (right?) and they had their own show, but I really don't believe Minimoni was Mari's doing. I know she really took the leader role by the horns, but I'm still unsure. Either way, I highly doubt Tsunku would need to go to Mari for approval.

They showed the creation on old episodes of Hello!Morning. Mari, Tsuji and Kago were the ones who came up with the idea for a group emphasizing their shortness and assaulted Tsunku in the studio about it. That was before the name was created or Tsunku added Mika in. We can't know if she came up with the idea for exactly what Mini Moni was song-wise, but atleast as far as it appeared the three of them came up with the idea for forming a group based on their heights.

Rather that is how it was protrayed. It's hard to say who's idea it was actually but H!M had it come across as Mari begging Tsunku to make them a group.

I rather doubt that was exactly how it started.

It's good they are getting put on the album first, that way Tsunku can see how the fans/wotas react to a new Minimoni without any former Minimoni members and if it's good then he'll give them a single.

I'd love to see Chisato as the leader of the bunch. She's currently the shortest in Wonderful Hearts, and she's vastly under-used in C-ute. Plus, she has Mari's sporty/tomboy vibe.

I think her enthousiasm and wackyness are a great addition. Her over-the-top personality seems to fit well into something aimed at kids.

Tsunku also said he would pick the rest of the members out of the less experienced eggs. I don't like most of the eggs. I hope he'll make good choices.

Here's hoping for Sekine Azusa (on j-ongaku it says she's 152.5cm! But would be on a closer level of singing than most eggs would be to Linlin/Kanon). I don't know who else I'd want from the eggs since the other girls are mad young... Okai Asuna is my next choice. Congrats Lin Lin. I like that he's going for the less typical approach, but I'm concerned that he would put 3 fresh faces in something as legendary as Mini Moni. I mean, we had Mari & the tiny half of 4th gen carry it before, now it's a very unfamiliar bunch. Also because Lin Lin is the only MM girl in it, it's Minimally Moni. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

Here's hoping the leader doesn't suffer from "Mika wardrobe".

Blech, this disappoints me. I have a strong dislike for Linlin's voice... Yeah, she's on key, but I just can't stand the sound and tone of her voice. Totally ruined the only song on Cover You that I would have otherwise liked (Koi no dial 6700). Argh.

I'm glad for more egg exposure but I doubt I'll be listening to the group if Linlin takes a prominent role.

Yay for Linlin. She's proved at the recent concert tour that she can definitely sing. There's still her annoying at times personality, but I think that personality will fit right in to what Minimoni is. If they still market it towards kids, then she'll have the same feel as leader that Mari did.

Tsunku seems to be bad at keeping things a secret from the fans so I'm pretty sure that within a week he'll atleast have announced one more of the eggs he's adding. I'd love for Karin because she's adorable.

I wonder which marriage song the four will get.

I like how this is creating angry responses on the net and blogosphere. I really don't get it. Did people love minimoni that much? To me, it was just a launching vehicle for the TsujiKago boom (which ultimately led to W.... and then the great demise thereof). What I think goes unmentioned, at least in the Western fandom is the sheer impact it had (either positive or negative, that's up to you) to lower the age bracket of the audience. Besides Goto's "Te wo Nigitte..." there was never anything blatantly targeted at kids before minimoni, and it obviously worked. (By way of referrence, look at the HPK auditions and how many of them did minimoni songs!) Basically, without no minimoni, there would be no HPK, and by extension HPE. Making the new minimoni an all HPE unit (Linlin was and HPE at one time, too) is like the whole cycle coming full circle. I say, embrace the change.

I love Minimoni and I can't wait for the new one to make their debut! I think Linlin is perfect for leader and Fukuda Kanon looks like aibon alittle bit. I'm just wishing that they don't have songs like the 2nd gen Minimoni. They changed their style completly and I hate when bands do that. After "CRAZY FOR YOU" I kinda lost intrest in them. Speaking for myself, I did love them that much. I discovered the Hello! Project just before "Telephone Ring, Ring, Ring" came out, and they were my favorite sub-group until they became Bling Moni. Yeah, they were definitely targeted to the kids, but the songs were great, with some of them even bodering on the avant garde. Even though it was pretty much a Tsuji/Kago vehicle, there was a sense of genuine chemistry between everyone in the group.

As regards the new Mini Moni, I'll check it out, but I'm not expecting much. At least they kept Koharu away from it.

People are assuming the other Minimoni eggs are on the cover because well... There's S/mileage, Mano, and then three other eggs on the top row. I saw the info this morning and thought, "How the hell can you people get those two from the top line?!"

I do believe that Miyamoto Karin will be in the new Minimoni, but who knows about the other girl people are guessing! Takeuchi Akari if anyone wanted to know... Both girls were recently in a stage play with Takahashi, Kamei, Shige, and Tanaka.

If she's an official member, I think I'm happy so far. Linlin definitely is the Mika Todd of the group currently, but everyone can sing and sing well. Kanon and Karin are probably gonna try to be the new TsujiKago.

Oh the reason why I don't know about Takeuchi Akari is because there's a girl separating her and Karin. Not really sure who it is (Saho Akari? Komine Momoka? Furukawa Konatsu?)...
