With #1, I don't think you have to look very hard to find Morning Musume all over the Internet. Afterall, Hello-Online is the 3rd result if you google, "hello project". Their own site isn't even on the first page. The rest of the questions though are to get a more everyday kind of feel out of them even though that kind of goes against the idea of being an "idol".

Actually, if you go to the Japanese-language version of Google, or the Yahoo Japan site, a search for "hello project" doesn't even show Hello-Online anywhere in the first few pages of results.

1. What things about being in Morning Musume surprised you after joining?

This is inspired by an old Konno interview when she talks about "oh no the gheys in entertainment." I'm sure they would be more diplomatic but it would be interesting nontheless. Like, "i was surprised at how much training there was" or "I didn't think we'd become friends with each other" and so on.



2. How much free time are you allowed in the day-to-day?

Because they seem so busy. I have this image of the girls living in this H!P compound, being drilled from 6am to midnight.



3. What happens when the members fights? Or, how do you keep peace among the members?

The wording is good because it already presumes that they fight once in a while. This really interests me because they have to keep it together professionally and not let personal tensions get in the way. I wonder who plays peacekeeper or how often the "leader" or whoever gets involved.



4. Who are your role models?

This is cliche but, sometimes it is fun to see how no one admires Matsuura but likes Goto.



5. How do you try to stand out in a big group?

I hope this gets some bitchy answers. "Obvs I'm the prettiest."

Fuck interviewing these little twerps, I could interview Tsunku for 3 hours and still not get all the questions answered.

Since I'll only have 15 min. at the press junket to interview the nine of them (it looks like the longer sitdown is unlikely to happen) and one question could conceivably take 15 min. for them all to answer and get translated, my daughter came up with an interesting idea:



Pick out a different question for each of them. That way, I can be sure of getting at least nine questions answered.



So, the idea now is to tailor suggested questions to each of the girls and try and figure out which girl will give the best response to which question. (i.e. a question about how they resolve differences among them should be put to the one who would most likely have those differences; or a question about their future in show biz after Morning Musume should be directed at the one most likely to have a continued show biz career, e.g. Ai-chan).

And I'm trying to avoid generic, boilerplate answers.



I'm gonna work on this over the weekend, but if anyone wants to take a crack at helping me tailor questions to specific girls, I'd be very grateful.

P.S. I just thought about it some more and I don't know if this strategy is going to work. If a couple of them decide to give long answers, the 15 minutes could be up before I get to JunJun and LinLin. So I need to ask questions that result in short answers. I'd like to at least get two questions asked of each of them. But if the whole process of asking the question, getting the question translated and getting the answer and then getting the answer translated takes up to two minutes each, then the 15 minutes are up after 7 of them.
