I think it is better than lollipop in my opinion. I like both version equally. I hope that they come out with a physical single soon.
2NE1's debut single Fire is finally out!

Good as / better than Lollipop? Don't know, but CL's rap in the beginning is awesome!

Might have to get used to the whole song though.
I think lollipop is only mediocre, but this is definitely worse.

It's just... too much generic rapping for my taste...

Sori - Real Lips (posted before) however sounds really promising.

I think I like the street version a little better, though the space version reminds me a bit of Swi.T's debut MV.

I'm liking "Fire." It's got a good beat and some catchy lines. Looking forward to more from this group.
I really, really want to dislike it. I think they're way over-styled (look at some of the promo pictures - the details on their outfits are ridiculously strange, and honestly, kind of ugly) and I dislike that kind of swagger on girls that's all bad-ass and sex and rapping - it's like, girl, sit the fuck down.

Yet, I find myself kind of drawn to it, and the song is incredibly repetitive/catchy in that special k-pop way... ehh ehh eh ehh ehh eh ehhhh...

Wonder Girls just released their Nobody single in the US on iTunes. I've already downloaded it.

The English version is not bad - I expected much worse. I'm pleasently surprised.

I'm loving SNSD's new song Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)

The Wonder Girls "Nobody" is pretty good. All the girls sound great...except Sohee. But that's not unusual as she always sounds pretty bad. Ya-eun has always been my favorite, and she sounds decent, so I'm happy. I still don't think this song is going to catch on, however.

Otherwise I'm really digging 4 minute. I know everyone thinks they're a rip-off of other bands, but I like Hot Issue. Also SNSD's newest is pretty good too. It's not as catchy as "Gee" was, but it's a different style so I didn't expect it to be. Hot damn they look good performing this though. I am so jealous of their legs. I couldn't not look at their legs the entire dance.

I love the new SNSD single... Maybe not as much as Gee, but more than Ha Ha Ha. <3 Love the style, it's more sophisticated but still fun pop at the same time.

I love the little pause in the middle too... "DJ, put it back on..."

I think this is going to be in my head all night long now...

Okay this is roundabout as I do not follow Wonder Girls...

Is it true they recorded the English version because they are opening for the Jonas Brothers on tour? That is major, if true. I bet BoA is pissed.

Pretty sure they recorded it for their US debut which was announced before the concert. It's a bit chicken or the egg though.

I'd still bet BoA would have liked that concert slot.

OH, the "Nobody" song is by Wonder Girls? I heard it in a Shinjuku 2chome club and everyone was singing along. Good times. XD I think I'll download it now.

Lots of people don't seem to like Girlfriend but I'm loving it - it so cute and 80s pop. I think it's my favourite.

Where does everyone get their Kpop from?

I'm relying on blogs and YouTube and the occasional torrent on Jpopsuki.

Are there Kpop torrent trackers?

I was thinking about it, especially since I know a couple of Jonas Bros. fangirls (one cried during their perf. at the superbowl!) Then again, I also flashback to the times where I went to a concert for an opening act and had to sit through a band I didn't like with screaming everywhere. Oh god, the screaming... I did get the single off iTunes to support them. I wonder if they'll have some merch on sale?

And I didn't quote it, but thanks for the d/l links. I'm gonna go get my Kpop on now. Hopefully I'll find some artists I love. It's bad when you only know of a couple of korean artists hehehe.

Personally? Livejournal. The k-pop community there is ENORMOUS - and I mean community as "a group of people", not as in a specific LJ community. Omona They Didn't is great for k-pop news, and while it ganks a lot of its stories from allkpop, it doesn't have all the retards that troll the comments on allkpop.

If you want, I'll link you to music communities. (Kpop Uploads obviously being the biggest, but there's tens of more minor ones that have uploaded pretty much everything)

Oh, and Z-Degrees is pretty good too.

I just have to express my WTF feeling on that front. I watched a youtube video a few days ago of them in a concert in new york and I was like, nifty! Then tonight I saw something about them opening for the jonas brothers and disney radio and shit... I don't think I've ever heard anything from jonas brothers, but I'm pretty damn sure the music is nothing alike. Why the hell would they be opening for them?! Also, do they just sing Nobody and nothing else? Or do they sing some Korean stuff as well? I'm listening to the Korean version of Nobody now to get the english version out of my mind haha. It's much better in a language I can't understand yet.

They are touring with Jonas, yes, among a whole other stable of opening bands. They do Nobody in English and Tell Me in English and nothing else.

Papa Jonas saw them somewhere and asked them to come tour.

Anyone drinking the f(x) kool aid? The first single "La Cha Ta" is kind of catchy. This group seems really put together. Yeah, I know all girl groups are, but this one just seems moreso. You have the pretty Chinese model - Victoria, the butch Chinese American rapper - Amber, the girl who can sing well - Krystal. Sulli and Luna seem pretty, but they don't stand out as much. I'm not sure what their "role" is yet. The blogosphere, at least the Western one, seems entrhalled with Amber's androgynous look. I think it's quite bold. Most girl groups will sport a tomboy-ish member, but SM went whole hog and said, we want a completely androgynous looking one! I mean, sometimes when I'm watching the PV I think "wth is there some dude doing this girly ass dance...oh wait...that's a chick."

Yeah, I'm pretty much dazzled with Amber as well. She's so SO manly.

But I love that about her, it's like a girl group with a rapper dude who dances with them. And she's really great at rapping, too.

I'm loving F(x), to be honest.
