I was feeling it until Ai's super cheesy "I hump this wall . . . with sadness" shot. But hey, that's the great part about current UFA. I'm sure they'll be 3 different scenes and they'll release each scene separate PV so I'll have a dance version to enjoy! I do enjoy the area and the general look of the thing.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I love angst and Emo Musume. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /noway.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> And they are doing it right this time, Naichau Kamo was a good try, but came off generic "lets cry" song that just reminded me of a boring version of AFOD. I didn't like Mikan or Pepper Keibu. The latest MM songs I loved were Shouganai and Resonant Blue (which also did angst and emo well). Anyways, I feel most of MM's discography is HAPPY HAPPY anyways. Look for the kid groups for happy songs. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /noway.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> I think this is their way of differing themselves from the kid groups now. I'll be sold again if MM starts singing about suicide. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... uicide.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

That very concept is so off-the-wall that I would probably end up buying several copies of the single in support of the pure jokes in having MM sing and dance to a song about suicide. If it's popular, maybe the kids can even sing a happy version about the same topic.

As for the 15 second clip of the PV, it kept my attention throughout, and having more to see in the background than a generic tiled streamer/curtain/umbrella is quite interesting. I wonder how the rap parts will look like? It kept my attention a lot more than when the 15 second clip of Naichao Kamo came out back in the day, that's for sure.

It looks like a KAT TUN PV! LOL! At any rate, I dunno what everyone else was watching, Ai is looking sexy as hell. If MM never did another "happy" song, I seriously wouldn't care. I get all my happy stuff from C-ute, BK, and HPE anyway.

The arrangement almost makes this song amazing, but the verse is so fucking boring and generic that it brings the whole song down. Interesting enough to listen, but not something for many repeat listens. Much better than Shoganai, anyway. The arrangement really is gorgeous, but the verse is just like 15-20 seconds of complete boredom that would normally make you skip to the next song if you didn't have the patience to wait for the rest. I could see someone who's not a fan of MM skipping past it during the verse.

15 second preview? Ha! I got yer full PV right here on Dohhhup!

This is also my first time actually hearing the song; and, except for the out-of-place rap, I like the song.

The video? The little hats are as cute as little hats, the white outfits are nice, Ai is pretty, and Risa is looking more and more like an alien.

My first thought after seeing the entire PV was "damn, Ai got a lot of lines!" She looks really pretty though. Also, Aika does the first part of the raps <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Hey, Risa looks a lot like Rika at 0:33.

I really don't like the parts with the white and black background. It feels cheap and unimaginative. The cuts with groups of members sitting around needs to stop. They've been doing it since Kanashimi Twilight and it's just a confusing visual glob.

I really like their outfits. It's probably the hat, I'm a sucker for small top hats.

Two outfits in a PV is enough to surprise me now, jeez. That said, Ai's white cut looked nice. She looked like a "real" pop star compared to the other girls. The setting is a bit grimy, makes me think they're gonna get raped or something. The rest is standard momusu pv stuffs: weird dance, weird cuts, weird camera angles. :|

I still can't decide if I like the song or not.

Nice, pleasant PV. Not much else to say. I was really struck at how gorgeous Koharu is. During her solo it was like a little 2 year old had dubbed over some model's voice. I also think someone should make a reel of all the times Takahashi does that under the chin hand move at :38. I swear it's like every song ever she's doing that . . .

I love the song, love the outfits, love the different stylings of the girls, they look amazing.

... But the PV is pretty much just your standard dance scenes interspersed with solo shots of the girls. I would have liked a story PV, or at least a more interesting setting. After the creativity shown in the 3, 2, 1, BREAKIN' OUT PVs, I hoped that would inspire H!P to put more creativity in their own videos.

Still in love with the song though. And Reina's hair, I love her in black!! <3 <3 <3

I like the song....I think....?

I dunno...when I think about this song and PV I keep comparing it to Shouganai Yume Oibito. It's like SYO has a little sister. This little sister wants to be just like her big sister (#1), but doesn't know how, so she copies everything that the big sis does, but tries to show some originality and some rebellion (add a rap). But in the end, the dance and the sound just comes off real....stale? The whole circle dancing thing again, and the fluid arm movements thMaybe if this was released a few singles after SYO it wouldn't seem so rehashed. I loved SYO so much that this song just doesn't live up to it.

But anyways...cute outfits, nice solo shots, and Risa's looking really thin lately. Maybe it's the new hair, but her face is looking crazy skinny.

Overall I'm just feeling really meh.
Eh, this is pretty generic to me. "Shouganai Yume Oibito" at least has a memorable chorus and a cohesive arrangement.

I'm not really feeling it, unfortunately. The rap break is cute, and I think it'll sound better with better quality, as right now it's hitting me as being too... ... generic.
^I agree with these statements. I don't hate it, but it feels like a Shouganai rehash that results in a lesser song. I kinda like the chorus, but I can't really get into the song as a whole.

I LIKE DEM OUTFITS. (ok, it took me like a minute to type four words. Do you know how hard it is to type with a band-aid on your index finger!? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... omgwtf.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ) It looks like I could buy the whole ensemble at Forever 21, maybe sans the hats, and I like that.

Koharu DID get gorgeous, but for the love of god, her voice... <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... wheely.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' /> I actually like Risa in this, I think her bangs are very... chic? Whereas everyone else has the same hair they've had in the past ever, aside from Reina going black.

BLACK AND WHITE SHOTS ARE CHEAP AS HAAAALE. Failed green screen attempt? Failed artsy attempt? Either way, Do Not Want.

I'm starting a protest to give the Pandas more lines, and I might as well throw Aika in there too, although oddly enough she did get a decent bit of face time.

There's still one too many odd tidbits of instrumental going on here (the weeeeOOOH sound at 0:38, reminds me greatly of a Shinhwa song from, like, 2001) for me to fully appreciate it, and like AEUG said, the verse is rather boring. I know the kids do "happy" now, but... MM's always been about variety, and I'd rather they switch it around sometimes and do peppy, instead of just cloning SYO.

I definately see what people are saying about this being really similar to Shouganai, but for whatever reason I like it. The rap verses set it apart enough for me, maybe? I'm not sure.

The PV is okay. I think the shots in front of the black and white background had potential - the silhoutte ones are pretty, but the background screams "CHEAP SCREEN." They could have put the girls in front of the windows in that warehouse and done the same thing and it would have looked much better.

I'm loving this. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sideways:' /> I really like the soft sexy voices they use in the verses, except Reina (and Koharu?) who didn't get the memo. Even Sayumi sounds good.

Aki Urara? Way to test out blow the dust off a Viyuuden track for the 40th single c/w. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ohyeah.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rocket:' />

Especially the chorus.

The radiorip is messing with it (I think it's hiding some of the electric guitar), but I'm going to love the cd version.

I like the Cinderella/Complex synth strings during the break.

Bravo AKIRA, How do I like Japan? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sideways:' /> LIKE THIS.

Subete wa Ai no Chikara better be good.

I feel like it'll be jazzy or something similar to Iroppoi Jirettai. It would be funny if it's a rock song since AKIRA teased us with a rock intro. Come on Daichi.

Here I was thinking that I was the only one who thought so. She gives me the creeps in this video. I do however love the video and the song. Junjun had almost no screen time, BUT she was looking amazingly beautiful. I really think they should give all Koharu lines to Junjun. Sure it's biased as all hell, but come on... seriously? Koharu? Kohawho? what?

Aki Urara: When I first saw the title, I thought, Nakazawa Yuko? I think she has a song with Urara in the title or something like that. Or it'd be something slow like COSMOS (because the kanji for it is Aki Sakura...)

Then I actually heard the song and it basically knocked me over.

It's so old school sounding, like something from the era of Summer Night Town or the darker songs from their first and second albums. The only song I can think of that comes stylistically close is Purple Wind, and that's only with a lot of squinting and extending my imagination. It's so old school that it's actually become a novelty. No one sounds bad, and the lack of Koharu solos is a big bonus. With 2/3 of the group finally reaching the age of majority (20) come November, it's only appropriate that Tsunku gives them a more mature style. and this ain't bad.

Nanchatte Ren'ai's rap finally wormed itself into my head, and now I'm convinced that this song is better than its twin sister Shouganai Yume Oibito. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':eekrun:' /> I'd never thought Sayu would be OK at rapping, and her voice stands out amongst 8th gen's lower ranges, and I really enjoy Risa's lines.

The PV, on the other hand, is generic with the only saving point being those black and white outfits. I third the notion that Risa freaks me out in the video. It's due partly to how much she's lost her cheeks, and the black/white motif does nothing to round it out. Ai is over the top with her expressions and channelling Sexy Boy (because that's what I thought in her closeups, it's 2006 all over again). ... and I have totally forgotten the rest of the video, it's boring.

The arrangement is actually great. I've gone back and listened to it a few times between days - I think that's a pretty good sign. ... and the rap dancing is funky.

It's not anything bad, but it's just incredibly boring. The only line that really stands out is Risa's, towards the end.

This song is so damn good, especially with the good quality now that the CD is out, they just had to make the verse so damn boring! After listening to it a few more times and watching it with the PV, I want to love this song SO MUCH but every time it gets to the verse it just feels like a let-down. Still an amazing song, but the more I listen to it, the more the verse sticks out like a sore thumb.

I like listening to the instrumentation in this high quality version, but those raps are still annoyingly out of place in the song. But the music drop-offs at 1:35 and 3:51 are pretty awesome (if only because they make me fear a rap is coming up, and then I become relieved that there is no such thing happening).

I'm still trying to figure out Subete wa Ai no Chikara, this version's b-side. The first ten seconds promise something completely different than what it becomes. And then it becomes something different again. I do really like the isolated voices though.

Subete wa Ai no Chikara is okay, but it just commemorates that B-sides are not singles for a reason. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whatthe:' />

I'm mildly reminded of Fujimoto's Aenai Nagai Nichiyoubi. Daichi did both songs so a few of the effects are similar, but this isn't doing much for me. The intro & chorus are cute, I suppose, but I feel like the rest of the song holds it back. Also, the "OHHH~ HAHAA" line seems out of place. There's a timing problem with it, the HAHAA is still going on when the following line starts. It sounds awkward. If they rewrote the song and without the yell, it might have a better flow. I wouldn't be surprised if this was another one of those old unfinished songs that they just had lying around. (or not good enough for TNX) I can barely remember it. This is what they put on a special release? It kind of reminds me of the times where the regular edition CD got cooler cover art and the limited was plain.

On the other hand, I think Aki Urara is better than most B-sides. Actually, better than a lot of their singles too. What a waste. (unless fans react to it like they did with Chokkan during the 6th album tour?)

The song sort of combines current era MM's cool style, with classic MM's sexy breathiness & attitude, maybe a pinch of disco too. Now that's 40th single anniversary promotion. I like the guitar intro, and everything after it. I like the percussion and the zooming cars. Pretty much everything works well and I love how the fast breathy lines almost hide their identities, except Sayumi (because it's impossible). That part presents them in a new way, which is surprising after so many years.

Anyway, Nachatte Renai. I like all of the very subtle digital effects. There's also a deeper voice at random moments, doesn't sound like MM or Tsunku. Now I don't know how I feel about this versus Shoganai. I guess I'll have to decide for the single ranking thread...

After a few more listens I've decided that I really like the verse of this song, except for the gratuitous use of Koharu. The rap is crazy bad (as in not good), though, and the chorus just does not impress at all. There's simply no flow to this song at all. It sounds like they had a few different motifs left over that got cut from the vastly superior "Shouganai..." and decided to paste them together and call it a single. Too bad, too, because the verse is really nice.

Didn't like this song the first time I heard it, but I'm really liking it the past few days. I'm surprised to say that it might be one of my higher ranking singles... The song is just really catchy, imo. The only problem I have with the song is that everytime I listen to it, I keep expecting a speech right after the "wandering" part at the beginning

Oh, and in the dance shot PV, Niigaki looks AMAZING

This. In all of the versions of the PV, that is. For a while now she's usually looked like a pig-nosed anorexic chick, but they really did a number on her style in this video, she looks great.

I'm gonna have to disagree. It was these shots from the preview that strongly made me think she can't hide her Martian ancestry any longer. I could see that hairstyle being attractive on someone, but her face doesn't seem real behind all that. I expect her to be in a horror movie.
