Lovin' the faux-lesbian, t.A.t.U thing. That's originality, right there.
"Rock" does not necessarily mean heavy guitar, metal, screamy voices, or ~*real anger*~. Remember that Elvis and The Beatles are considered some of the biggest names in Rock 'n' roll of all time. There are a lot of different types of rock. Hangry & Angry don't need to be Dir en Grey to qualify.

I never said metal, haha. But everything in this just seems very manufactured, gimicky, and pop to me. It's pop-rock, but it's not rock-rock, imho. Buono do pop in a rock style, for example, but their music is still considered pop by most.

There's plenty of rock that's just as manufactured as pop, but no - I do agree that it's "pop-rock" or "electronic-rock" (I know there's a better term, I just don't know what it is), but that doesn't mean it's totally disqualified from the very broad genre that is rock. I'd probably say Buono is more pop than pop-rock, but I can't really define in concrete terms why. My point was just that rock is a huge, evolving genre, and just because Hangry & Angry aren't "pure" rock, doesn't mean they aren't a form of rock at all.

band project formed from some fashion designer's characters. Rika & Yossi are in roles here. Every release, every appearance is merely a h&A product COMMERCIAL.
See, that last bit is why I haven't warmed up to the whole project, haha, it seems, to be dramatic, "soulless" to me. They really are basically just here to advertise an over priced clothing line.
Best of luck to them with it, though. I bet they're both getting a good bit of exposure from it.

I think it's all in how you look at it. For me, I love the idea of the Hangry & Angry unit because they're like a really cool bonus feature on a limited edition CD. We COULD just have pictures of Yossi and Rika wearing the clothes in magazines and maybe a few 15 second promo clips, or a bunch of boring news updates about how they showed up at a special Hangry & Angry event to wave dolls in our faces. I.e. a bunch of forgettable stuff that wouldn't even merit a thread, and we'd probably all be lumping them in with the piles of other MM graduates that waste away doing nothing of interest. Instead we get singles and full length albums! Not every song they put out is awesome, but at least they're doing something involved and fun with their promotional contract and staying on the radar. And hell, with all the effects used on these songs they sound much better than they ever did in Ongaku Gatas. <img src='
