I'm a big fan of Atsuko. She was the co-MC of the very first H!P concert I ever saw. I love her segments on "Uta Doki Pop Classics." She did a great rendition of an Anri song with the English lyric, "I can't stop the loneliness." But they never gave her much to do, did they?

Yep, like Yoshimi said, Takahashi's been doing most of the vocal backups. Heck, I think Inaba's last one was Kanashimi Twilight.



Since then, it's been Takahashi 99% of the time, although this year the Risa and 6th gen have been getting a lot too. The Japanese wikipedia articles have them in detail.

I'm kinda sad that's she's leaving. I'm still new and hearing about her, I feel that she was kinda the backbone of H!P with doing background vocals, participating in the shuffle units, and MCing at the concerts.

I've been watching old Asayan episodes lately that show the auditions and forming of Taiyou and Cisco Moon. I've got a newfound respect for Inaba and the other members. They went through a lot to get to their debut and from then on. For example, their debut single's weekly oricon rank had to be equal to or higher than Morning Musume debut single (weekly rank 6) or else the group would disband after their debut single.



I don't care about her leaving though. She wasn't doing much. Seems like the right time to move on.

She hasn't been in a shuffle since 2005, and backing vocals + MC are minor. The question about who will do backup NOW? was a joke since it's so obscure knowledge that she did a few songs.



If you really feel sad, you need to see & hear what she did when she had her own group in H!P. That was the real tragedy, 2 albums and then GONE at the end of 2000. They lasted about a year. T&C Bomber

^ Oh yeah, Taiyou & Ciscomoon/T&C Bomber are amazing. I love their entire debut album, but I haven't listened to what they did after that yet. All four of them were really talented, as far as H!P goes.

I'm glad someone else around here actually shows some respect, because they definitely deserve it. This comes as a bit of a shock to me because it wasn't but earlier this year she and another member from T&C were trying to get the group back together just to do a few small appearances and hang out and stuff, and now it seems they just dropped that entirely. Its a shame to see a group who had an awesome career finally come crashing down to a definite end. She's a really talented girl who did female backup vocals for more H!P songs than days there are in a year and taught Ayaya everything she knows about being a dancer. I don't have much else to say, but I agree it probably was time to move on, as all good things have to come to an end, and they weren't giving her very much to do. At her age, she probably has other things she'd rather be doing.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. I'm glad its at least getting some attention, but too bad it couldn't have turned into something bigger.

Yeah, I think there was a lot of hope it'd go further. But from the beginning of the blog it was meant just to be a limited time thing while the Best of Album was released, and then to celebrate the ten year anniversary. I mean they all have their own lives now. Ruru is busy in China, Miwa is a busy mother of three and Miho has her own life as well. Atsuko's been in the idol business for half of her life. I think them getting in contact again will stay as a friendship.



Atsuko leaving was probably more a matter of her contract being up and it just happened to go until after the revival plan was a success. She'll find something she wants to do outside of UFA. Also message on the website gives the impression that she might still do back-up vocals sometimes and teach dance.



The responses over at Hello!Online still amuse me. Not knowing the name Inaba Atsuko I can understand, but not having any idea who Taiyou & Ciscomoon are I can't. Maybe they were only around for a year but they had a big impact in Hello Project history.

Not that it matters to any of us, but I had the impression from the sanspo article I read that she wasn't leaving Up-Front, but just leaving the talent part of it. But that the whole "new experience" she wanted would entail going to business with one of the associated UFG companies. I'm sure I was misreading it.

Kidding! I really liked T&C's music despite their short (but a nice impact in the H!P music scene) time span in H!P. Inaba was an essential part of T&C (not far from Ruru, because Ruru was all that and a bag of chips), and I respect her for that.

I honestly never liked any of the T&C PVs except for their last one and MAYBE Magic of Love. And what's up with the speedy dances in some of their PVs? Like Everyday Everywhere and Tsuki to Taiyou. It totally ruined Everyday Everywhere for me. Still an awesome song though.

Learn to love Magic of Love! It's an epic song. Like Maeda and Inaba's performance of the song from the Thank You for you Love concert. I'm sad though because it seemed that the audience weren't amazed by their performance.

T&C was the best group EVER. I really wish they could have stuck around, but I was so glad when they got together and were able to do the concert. In some way shape or form, I will get that DVD. I have all their singles and their 2 albums, just need the Mega Best and whatever else. Inaba is a talent, regardless of whether people think so or not. They tend not to like her because she's been around forever or she doesn't have that "idol cute" look or whatever. T&C's pv's weren't the greatest, that's for damn sure, but their songs were awesome. HEY! Mahiru no Shinkirou is my absolute favorite, but I love them all. They were definitely the best dance group as well.
