This degree of fault-finding is obnoxious though because the reasons are all petty. "Idols" are still real people who are yet lacquered, styled, starved, and photoshopped into some notion of idol "perfection." And yet...Stretch marks? Or calling her fat (on H-O)? You don't like her toenails?! It is as though people are really TRYING to make up reasons why she's, gasp, not as "beautiful" as she's supposed to be.

I appreciated Risako the moment I saw her because of what I feel is a very normal and healthy weight. I don't necessarily think the other girls in H!P and entertainment in general starve themselves or anything to be so skinny, but Risako represents the average body type to me. At least, that's what my body looks like as opposed to the other girls.

We must be seeing two different things because the toenails are long and definitely not manicured. They're not all the same length, they're jagged, and it pretty much looks like she just forgot to clip them for quite a few months. I know it would take my toenails about four months to get that long.

I'm sorry for saying those things, mEri and Ap2000. I'm just being too picky, really. I still find Risako one of the prettiest in Hello!Project (I don't really follow all the idols to have an opinion about the whole thing, though). I'm just surprised at how much weight she's gained over the last two years; losing some local fat (I don't know the exact word in English) would make her even more stunning and 15 is the dangerous age for girls. But she is far from fat and with the load of activities those girls have she won't get any closer to being fat. Again, I'm sorry for that.
As for her toenails (I finally saw them!), I don't think they are abnormal. I think it is just the angle... They are well treated, pedicured and all.

I'll never get this Risako is fat/chubby/thick thing. It's more her body type than anything. She looks big in comparison to other H!P girls, most of who are a bit curveless, but it looks like she's just built to be curvy. That's not a common build in idols, but it's not a bad build or an un-healthy one, either. If she lost weight, she'd look weird, and from the looks of it, boobs and butt are what her body is supposed to have =/ I think it's just her natural body build.
