It really is awesome! I love how they completely change the song with the rap part.

I agree. I also like Like the Beginning MV here way better. The song grabbed me from the first listen. Currently Like the Beginning and Bo Peep are tied for first to be T-ara's title song. Hope they pick LtB.

In other news, Nadia, SM's newest group released an MV trailer for "Numb" (Ft. Jace). The song sounds good. Really different from the typical SM sound, but I guess that's because all the songs are supposed to be written and produced by the duo themselves.

Ok, so I'm pretty much addicted to allkpop.com, and it has a new article about how this month, as well as two months preceding, are like the three shitiest months in k-pop history. It's an interesting read. Bunch of links inside though.

So Super Junior are going ro rearrange their two hits, Sorry Sorry and It's You that will come with PV's. The PV's will be released Dec. 10th. You can hear the songs here: http://www.allkpop.com/index.php/full_stor...racks_released/

Sorry Sorry - Answer: Way different. At first I thought it was mehh.. But I really like it and the harmonies in the chorus are awesome.

It's You (Rearranged): Hmmm... Not really feeling it. Maybe I'll wait for the PV.

So it's supposedly confirmed that Taeyeon stepped down as leader of snsd due to a "critical incident" that happened in the dorms. (She apparently talked about it on the most recent Strong Heart that is airing later today)

I have such a bad feeling in my stomach, because all this feels so fucking familiar after being a Morning Musume fan for so long rofl. I don't wanna go through another Yaguchi <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lmfao:' /> <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

*edit*

K apparently it's just the Korean media being gay and blowing shit out of proportion for ratings. That's good haha. I guess I'm just too used to scandals and shit making people leave.

lol I love Strong Heart! If she were to step down as leader, I wouldn't mind really. MM showed us that you don't have to be leader to get fucktons of lines. Just as long she doesn't LEAVE SNSD, then I wouldn't care.

She is/was a fantastic leader anyway, pish. Great attitude, you should see her in some of those behind-the-scene episodes (or for example that one where they go to Disneyland), she's the little piston engine that keeps the whole crew going. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

(I actually don't really know what you're talking about cause I've been too busy to keep up... Did she step down as leader or something?)

Yeah lol, I just got into snsd in the past few months. (only up to 150 gigs of video/tv files so far <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ) so I was not aware of how faggy allkpop (which I just found like three days ago lol) was with tabloid shit. They worded the story like it was a done deal, but they're really just dumb <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

So does all of Busan apparently. I've been in Busan for a week and I've probably heard Bo-Peep 40 different times at different places. No exaggeration there at all. I picked up T-ara's first album tonight along with all of So Nyuh Shi Dae's cds, 2NE1's first mini-album, and Kara's second album, plus four DVDs for just over 120,000 Won (~115 bucks), which made me VEEEEEEEERY happy (25,000 of that was from My Sassy Girl, which I am happy as a pig in shit that I finally own) The other day I picked up 2PM's first single (10 out of 10) and 1:59PM, a BoA cd, and Clazzy's Mucho Punko or w/e it's called lol. Probably going to go pick up 4Minute's album tomorrow if I have time before leaving for Japan since I forgot it tonight and still have some Won left over, burning a hole in my pocket. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Vaguely relevant!

SHINee, one of the new(-er)(-ish)(kinda) boybands that has recently spawned itself, did a little time promoting in Japan! And considering this is still a BBS oriented on the j-poop, I feel like it's vaguely relevant.

Taemin questionably covered Gekkou by Chihiro Onitsuka. His voice is... kind of all over the place, but he's also like, 16, so I'm gonna give it some time.

Jonghyun did a fantastic cover of Tears by X-Japan [tinytext](although if you wanna get technical, most of it is actually a M.C The Max cover because it's in Korean and X-Japan never did a cover in Korean, so Jonghyun is technically doing a... cover of a cover. Yes.)[/tinytext] He actually pulled off X-Japan fairly well. Props, man, props.

KEY (who is my favorite) did some dances to Love Machine! Love Revolution 21! And One Room Disco! NOW YOU KNOW WHY HE IS MY FAVORITE. The whole thing is kind of bullshit, BUT HEY. LISTEN TO THOSE GIRLS SCREAM OVER MOMUSU. And you thought they were unpopular! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hawhaw.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Not j-poop: Onew did a smooth & beautiful cover of Now and forever by Richard Marx, and Minho did a questionable cover of If U Leave by Musiq Soulchild. (In his defense, I wasn't actually aware he could sing. They generally just make him rap/stand there and look pretty.)

Theeeeere you have it, your daily dose of k-pop in Japan. Also, apparently After School and BoA were in Japan to accept some sort of awards or another. BoA sat next to HYDE. I was amused.

I think M.C The Max (also, apparently, produced by Yoshiki?) version, Jamshiman Annyeong, predates the other though... Wikipedia's telling me 2002. So he's got the original, the M.C The Max one, the TRAX one... does Yoshiki ever get fucking tired of that song? Apparently not. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /ph34r.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':nosebleed:' />

TRAAAAAAAX OH MY GOD. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /weeeh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> My first k-pop, literally. (well, unless you want to count my short-lived foray into Shinhwa in 5th grade because "lol Korean BSB", and a one-day stint in DBSK after finding out that Micky Yoochun's little brother went to my middle school). Ahh, memories. Also the first k-pop CD I ever owned. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

TRAX did new stuff recently! With some... er, interesting acting from Heechul of Super Junior and Victoria of f(x). Doing what Korea does best - really epic ballads. With 75% more tear-gushing anguish!. Honestly, the single isn't really my favorite song off their mini-album, I'd check out the other trax (heehee, pun.)

HAVE WE REALLY NOT MENTIONED THE NEW SNSD SONG IN HERE? There are cheerleaders! Very short shorts! Cutesy voices! Hot girls! EVERYTHING THIS BBS HAS EVER WANTED, REALLY.

The album is alright. Some nice ballads and some cute-but-forgetable songs.

The big hair and hats for the Show! Show! Show! performances are awful though ;(

Meh, I like the ballads and stuff. I like the whole album, and I'm still waiting (been 2 weeks since it shipped /sigh) for my first press. Probably emailing yesasia tomorrow if it doesn't show up. And not having any tracking information whatsoever is also awesome. Any international shit I've ever ordered has had tracking info.

So! SNSD!

They're trying out a new "black" concept. This means "marginally darker than cheerleaders", apparently, but I'm not complaining because it's really hot.

Run Devil Run

I'm kind of ambivalent about the song (it's good, but not FANTASTIC) but, oh, hello ladies. The choreography, if not slightly ridiculous at times, is just... well, they know what they've got, and they know how to flaunt it.

Also, I want their wigs.

I really, really dislike the choreography, it's so haphazard and doesn't suit the song at all, it's just goofy, not cool at all. The only thing I can say in its favor is that more likely than not, there will be some hilarious screwups during live performances. But damn, they all look great! And I really like the song. Ke$ha's demo version has the dumbest lyrics EVER ("as real as an air-guitar"? Seriously?), so I'm probably better off not looking at the translation.

This is a boring song with a mediocre refrain.

Yeah yeah, it's fine, blah blah I liked Oh better but that's only because I was bouncing around the house going Oh, Oh, Oh all day and that's always the sign of a good song. I may perhaps be going around the house saying Run devil run but it doesn't have the same kind of twist.

ANYWAY

Let's talk about Kara's Lupin.

Their new mini album was released at the end of February and it's funny that they used the black and white theme and SNSD also used it. Must be the new thing I guess? I'll miss the over saturated colors. :<

Edit: Oh better inspection of the SNSD video, the dances have a very similar feel to them as well. They even got a run in. But it isn't has noticeable since Kara's cutting away a lot from the dance shots.
So! SNSD!

Run Devil Run
Oh wow, the first SNSD song that somehow sticks with me. Everything I've heard from them until now was just terribly unmemorable and flat synthetic background music. This one finally has the OOMPH! and some catchy melodies and vocals. Definitely goes in my playlist.

I have enjoyed the video a lot too. It's not exactly groundbreaking or even imaginative as far as videos go, and I normally prefer videos with some sort of a plot to them, but the great production in this one makes up for it. Watch this UFA, you can make a "girls dancing against an almost plain backdrop" PV look good! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... dammit.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':frown:' />

HOWEVER - I just can't feel any emotional or any at all connection with them. That's a problem I had with all their videos and appearances that I ever saw. They are robots. Manufactured, photoshopped and airbrushed to Hell and back, then thrown into the deepest pits of the uncanny valley. I is afraid. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /ph34r.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':popper:' />

Do they ever show any personality or "girl next door" side, at least if official media? And is it just them, or is that a general Korean thing (I don't follow K-pop at all)?
