Mari Yaguchi Produces a Resturant

Not sure if this is worthy of being a forum topic, but on Mari Yaguchi's blog she posted that she is now producing a resturant.

On March 19 (tentative date), "Shabushabu Onyasai Roppongi" will open. She designed the interior, menu, and even staff uniforms.

She was also on"Bijo Houdan" and talked about being a producer for the resturant.

That's a first, or maybe it's not? But I'm pretty sure no one else from H!P has opened a resturant!

Maki Goto's mom had a restaurant too! Apparently Maki herself helped out there. Not sure when it was open, though. Maybe before Maki debuted.



Also yeah, Roppongi is where all the stupid rich gaijin are. I'd suspect a combination of those and people who'll end up going because Mari's name is slapped on it will turn in a profit.

I read this in the translated blog. "Producing" sounds more like she's just a celebrity investor with a little control over the cosmetics of the restaurant and not the actual business itself.

That's how I read it, more that she is "the face of" rather than investing her own money. Presumably she got a fee for her input into the look of the restaurant and then I guess more money for appearing there occasionally and glad-handing the clientele.

I saw this on Arama! They Didn't.

Sounded like she's going to be the general manager or even the owner, as opposed to a celebrity benefactor, but I didn't read the article too in depth.

And I heard Kago was involved with smoking meat, but I'm not sure that had anything to do with food.
