There's no official counter or anything, but occasionally the girls will update with the numbers on their blogs. It sounds like even they don't know the exact numbers and only get occasional updates.

I hope they will at some stage mention what was the proportion of gaijinfaces in the total s/miles received, and what were the demographics in the two (Japan and abroad) groups, at least the male to female ratio. That would be an unscientific but still interesting gauge of how the interest is spread. I'm cautiously estimating that foreigners could make up a good 10% of the total feedback - 1000 faces is not that much when you put together the active users of the large western fora and the obvious lurkers who still chipped in.

They would likely reject them. The site basically says if your entry doesn't conform to the rules, they won't take it. And the rules are essentially "One picture of just YOU smiling." No copyrighted material, etc. Generic smileys (assuming you mean like...the ones we use at the BBS) aren't actual people soo...
