The UpFront youtube channel has videos up of S/mileage out on the streets collecting smiles here, here. They're a little bit too timid looking in the video. I wish they'd been dressed up in some sort of costume so they stood out more and attracted more attention. They have them dressed up in this video, which looks like them collecting signatures at some UFA office. Not really the place they need the costumes. =/

Part of this whole thing is that they're supposed to make a board at the end with all of the photos on it. So I guess if they didn't reach the goal and UFA wanted to fake it, they'd have to either come up with a bunch of random photos to fill in the numbers or just hope however many they actually have at the time looks close enough to 10,000 and no one actually counts. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Yeah, this. We won't really know unless they like, upload all the pictures somewhere. And even then there's people sending in random celebrities, and they're bound to not be able to weed them all out. It's not Tsunku being clever and testing them out. It's promotion. Like when Paranormal Activity had that whole "Demand It!" scheme going on. The film studios had it ready to go way before they hit 1 million demands.

That clip at the end is just from the promo, that particular part is where he tells them that if they don't get 10,000 photos, their debut will be undecided.
