There's going to be a MacGruber movie, beautiful !

The 6 pre-release reviews (or whatever you want to call them) are all positive, hopefully it won't disappoint.

I've lived the majority of my life without a King Of Fighters movie, and was better off for it. But now, Gordon Chan's threatening my blissful ignorance with something that looks so bad, not even Ray Park & the Dark Knight score can save it. I'm not generally one to nitpick about details in a character's appearance, but I swear there's nothing in this trailer that resembles the characters they're playing. Kyo's a white boy (cos that worked out real well for Dragonball Evolution,) Maggie Q can be pretty hot despite the long face, but c'mon, Mai "me bouncy!" Shiranui? Really? Terry Bogard has. No. Hat. Or ponytail. Ray Park as Rugal? I dunno, for some reason I'm just having a real hard time accepting the old "hey it's a movie, let's redesign everything about these characters we paid to license" thing this time. For christ's sake, Iori looks like a fucking addict dealer. You just don't take the one character who's 1000% STYLE and give him a full-on scumbag makeover. The fuck.

There's another trailer with quick interviews, but really, you should just ignore it & go on with life.

Maybe they are trying to emulate that hallowed classic film, Street Fighter. Which also does not exist, of course. So it's nothing to worry about.

Kick-Ass totally lived up to the name. Hit Girl is the single most badass creature to ever grace a motion picture screen, and Nick cage finally got to be in a good hero movie. Definitely my favorite comic movie yet, even though there were some huge changes from the original comic, but I can understand them. The comic was dark as shit and had they not changed it I imagine a good 70% of the audience would have hated it.

Mostly all I've heard about the comic was that it was marketed in an original way, so I assumed it must not have been very good. You make it sound like it was, so maybe I should try it.

So true. God help me, I actually liked Cage in an action role, and a Batman ripoff one at that! From Big Daddy's speech pattern to his EXTREME competence, to his additional press-on mustache, he was a character worthy of an action figure purchase if one's available.

Hit-Girl... wow. Totally made the movie & made everyone else boring by comparison. Sure it's the Dave Lizewski story, but honestly that's been done so many times over. In fact, a lot of this reminded me of Wanted, but with capes & that's probably why I'm not blown away by it. But nothing makes over-the-top violence fun like a 13 year-old girl pulling it all off, and it was fun seeing Augie Farks as a kind of nerd villain. He totally should've gotten to use that sword at the end instead of look on in defeat.

I saw Kick Ass too. I liked it, Hit Girl was the only character that was interesting though. ... Okay, I'll admit I liked Cage too. Oh, you have no idea how much it hurt to admit that. He's still on my blacklist, just got the exception out of the way. The rest of the characters were meh. Every scene without BD/HG was a trying case to keep my interest. I await the Japanese loli schoolgirl assassin movie response.

Don't know if want. But it can't possibly get worse after the recent what they grossly understated as "nonsense". And I trust the man. At least, I really, really want to.

Didn't watch anything in a long time and it's making me SAD. :<

Because, despite how bad G.I.Joe may be, she was undeniably kickass in it & easily the movie's saving grace. Besides, that's only MTV doing the same "things we'd like to see" bullshit that every film, comic, game, etc website does when a project's announced.

I actually lost a little respect for Ridley Scott because of this. He & Cameron were once adamant that they'd only return to the franchise if AVP weren't made. Obviously, money talks.

Blade Runner again. I kept making connections between the novel, but the movie and book are really only connected by character names. Still, I love that movie <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Iron Man 2: Electric Boogaloo - I've heard from a few people that there's apparently a split reaction to this movie, and I can only conclude that it must be between "great" and "pretty damn great". This movie's at least as good as the first one, probably even better. Even Mickey Rourke couldn't fuck up this one. The overall story wasn't anything terribly original, but it was handled effectively and briskly. The effects & action scenes are fantastically awesome & much improved upon those in the original. And the individual performances are really solid all around. The first Iron Man movie made me finally like Robert Downey Jr., and this one engraves that in stone as a definitive character to me.

Don Cheadle's always exceptional in anything he does, and I really wish Jon Favreau would go back to the 1st movie & digitally replace Terence Howard with Cheadle. Howard's Rhodey was a fucking pussy & that's why Tony kept him in the Humdrum-Vee. Cheadle doesn't put up with that shit & he will knock your goddamn ass off the walls & fly off with your lunch money. I was starting to think he's being kind of a dick, but then I remembered how he was Tony's bitch all through the first movie, so I guess it's time to iron-up that pimp hand. When he tells Tony "it wasn't a question" at the end, you gotta admit he damn well earned the right.

There's also two nods to future Avengers. The best one is when Tony's working on a new power source, and his assigned SHIELD Agent Coulson finds something among his collection of parts... and what Tony does with it is a great tongue-in-cheek gag. The second one occurs after the end credits, which I'll put in spoiler tags in case you left the theater. It's not nearly as cool as the Nick Fury scene was in the 1st movie though: Agent Coulson arrives at a crater in New Mexico, where there's already a full team investigating/surveying the area. He places a call (presumably to Fury) saying "we've located him" as we suddenly see Thor's hammer Mjolnir at the heart of the crater. Hopefully Kenneth Branagh's Thor movie will at least be as cool as the Thor figure that recently hit shelves.

So yeah, great movie. I actually forgot to bring the free ticket I got in the AC/DC album, so I guess I'll be seeing it again haha.

If I didn't see Iron Man, will I be confused if we saw Iron Man 2?

I skipped the first one. I just can't stomach Robert Downey Jr AND Gwen Paltrow as celebrities and it made me resistant to seeing them costar in a big summer blockbuster type movie. Now, everyone keeps saying the two movies are so good....

That was my exact opinion of both people before I saw Iron Man. I'm still not a real fan of Paltrow, but now I got nothing against her, haha.

I don't think you'll be confused if you don't see the first movie, but there are a few nods to it in this & pretty much everyone from the 1st movie grows as a character here, so I'd think you'd have a better time seeing both.

Just watched Kick-Ass and I liked it a lot.

Very well done stylistically and some of the cinematography was outstanding, though I have the feel that some combat scenes could have been better if the camera would have been a little bit further away and revealed more of the actual setting.

I thought the high degree of violence was very distracting though and the biggest downside of it.

I am not sure if you are shocked this movie was being made (unlikely) or I am missing some reference (likely).

eri, watch the first one too. The first one has better tension in the fight scenes, you get the origin, plus there were a couple of better interaction scenes with Paltrow and Downey. I personally did not like Paltrow much until this movie (and frankly, it's the only movie I can stand her in) and you'll get to laugh at Howard when he says "next time".

I'm glad they finally gave Rhodes his nuts back.

I saw Iron Man 2 TWICE. OH YEAH!

There were a lot of parts I wished it would fix, namely pacing. I want the Potts/Stark scene from the trailers back, that scene felt heartless without it. I want the fight scenes to be longer. Especially the kamehameha at the end. I wanted it to feel more of a last ditch effort, kinda like War Machine gets knocked pretty hard and is out of commission for a bit, and Iron Man's attack fails and they happen to catch each other's eye and do the kamehameha blast. Okay, I'll admit it - I WANTED MORE OF WAR MACHINE KICKING ASS. I also wanted more of Whiplash kicking ass, because let's face it - this is the coolest this guy will ever be. The element thing SEEMS kinda iffy...unless it's from Captain A's shield, which then it could make a bit of sense.... I suppose his Father could've identified the element but not had the technology to recreate it. And holee shit, that actor they cast as his Father looks JUST LIKE the dude they drew in the comics. I thought they'd pull from the Extremis storyline in the comics, but I suppose it's too much for a movie.

And I still hate Johanson. Ugly bitch, action scenes were shit, can't act worth a rat's ass - especially with Downey, Paltrow, and Cheadle as foils, maybe not so much Jackson, but I pay money to see Jackson be a badass and I got a brief glimpse of that so I'm happy. I hate that she gets a recurring role in these films. But acting aside, I hate that she didn't LOOK like Black Widow. See, there's an image of BW that has been forged in my mind from reading comics with the character, and she was not it. She's no spy. She's no hardened woman. She's just there for guys to oogle her (not that nice) t and a. I could think of a long list of actors that look good and could've done a better job than Johanson. Get fat and lose popularity or something, please.

Such a bloody movie that's so over the top it's awesome. Knowing a bit about Rain probably makes it even better that he's playing that character.
