Well, MKB are finally over. Most of old school HP turned out to see them off. Also, Saito wore a completely see-through dress. And that's awesome.

The last vestige Golden Era is now officially over. Long live the Reign of Sayumi.

PS. If any of you MKB girls want to settle down and have some babies, I'm more than willing to help. I'm not picky, but Ayumi and Hitomi get first dibs.

That's OK as I am more than willing to dedicate my life to Masae..... Megumi anyone?

Wait, I thought their final show was May 30?!

Oh fuck, I've been counting down to the wrong date. :c

I knew there had to be a reason I listened to the Nimaime pretty much all day yesterday, other than the fact it was a sick album.

R.I.P. MKB. :C

ETA; Fucknuts, it was May 3. I can't read.

I went to their Disbandment concert, it was pretty epic. 3.5 hours, triple encore, high energy all the way. They had a good sendoff. I mean behind them they had four moving LCD panels that had a different video background for EVERY song. UFA did not skimp on them at all.

I could tell most of HP was there because everyone from 3 rows in front of me kept turning around to glance up at the 2nd floor, but my ticket was just far enough back (16th row, super lucky even that I got it through FC let alone such a good ticket) that I couldn't see over the second floor railing. I did see Rika's hair as she leaned down to wave once though.

*sigh* I'm going to miss those girls, but they had a good solid run. And they performed Leather at their final live which is a song that I've only seen at their countdown two years ago and it's such an awesome song. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Yes, Saitou's dress was see through, she was wearing sparkling lingerie underneath.

Whoo hoo <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/jam.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':jam:' /> They had better show the whole 3.5 hours on the DVD or they will have me to answer to.

The NINE SMILE DVD had all three hours, so I would assume they would do the same for MKB.

After all, an almost eleven year old group breaking up > a horse graduation.

I'm surprised UFA spent that much money.

I think it's understandable now why every cover for Morning Musume the past couple albums has sucked...they laid off the Photoshop department so they could afford all this. XD

By the way, I was trolling through Hello! Online a few moons ago and saw something regarding the album cover for MELON'S NOT DEAD. Let me track it down real quick.

ETA;
As you know, this is the cover of their final album, ironically entitled "melon's not dead":

Although the scan is far from perfect, on the bottom right part of the cover, there is a piglet. Underneath the piglet you can see a paper bag (or something like that) which reads:

You got that right: "No future"!!! So it was probably decided beforehand (?)
Forgot to say, they all gave a brief look into what they plan to do now. Ootani is going to continue singing solo though says she's going to go in a completely non-idol direction, and she has already opened up her own blog as you might've noticed. Megumi and Ayumi are also going to continue in the entertainment world, though Ayumi wants to focus more on acting. However for Hitomi, this was the last time we will see her on stage. She is retiring from the entertainment industry. It was hinted at in an earlier part of the concert that she really wants children so maybe we'll be hearing a "surprise I'm pregnant!" pretty soon.

Also, with what it takes to plan tours, I am certain they decided it way beforehand. Possibly even before the collaborations were set up, it was a perfect UFA send-off present. I don't think they would be be like "ooh, spotlight with successful rock bands, ...nah this is too much fun, let's just break up now"

Maybe it's a romanized の and the paper bag represents the budget they will have to work with.

I really happy to hear that Masae is still going to be in music.

By non idol route, I imagine she's going to put her guitar to use.

Work with Takui!

Saito can't be wearin' maternity see through dresses, so she went out in style. Good luck to them all.

No problem, I do need to do a full write up, just haven't had the time as Golden Week was really busy for me.

I actually do believe it was brought on by Melon themselves, there was never the feeling from any of them that this was pushed. I have a feeling it started back in January when plans for their 10th anniversary were being thought up and they probably all just realized they wanted to move on to something different, since Melon can't just change members. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but unlike other graduations this really felt like something they decided.

Always my favourite at any concert especially if they do it towards the end.

Most def.

And it was the last song.

i swear, there were like ten minutes of silence between it and Endless Youth. I was just like...okay are you guys going to do anything else or did you actually end it with endless youth.

Then I hear DOSURU DOSURU DOSURU and I'm like <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/w00t.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> then when it ends I'm like <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whatthe:' />.

All in all, it was amazing. I usually delete concert rips once I've listened to them, but Melon's is staying. <33

Damn, that was an amazing final DVD which just cements their legacy.

At the very end when the curtain drops and the backstage camera comes on they just all collapse to the floor crying and comforting each other while the crowd cheers them on from elsewhere, and it's absolutely beautiful.
