Re: [Mano Erina] 8th Single Genkimono de Ikou!
I split this into a new topic because this song is good enough to do such a thing. And I don't mind Mano's voice a bit. It works for her.
I love this song and I don't care what anyone else thinks. I'm so buying this single for support cause I love it so much. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whatthe:' />
If this doesn't get a good PV I will be horribly disappointed in all of Up Front for letting such an awesome song get away with a lackluster PV.

This'll probably grow on me, but I don't like it. :/ I like her stoic-emo songs better.
Re: [Mano Erina] 8th Single Genkimono de Ikou!
Oh fun! I love this!! I wish Buono sang it first, but oh well. I guess they are trying hard to diversify her image.
Re: [Mano Erina] 8th Single Genkimono de Ikou!
I think her next release will be an album, it's been four singles, right? And I'm really happier with her image now. I loved her first singles but I prefer these ones. (Except for Otome no Inori, that one is my favorite so far.)

Re: [Mano Erina] 8th Single Genkimono de Ikou!
I admit that I only listened to the beginning before I posted the link since I don't listen to previews, but my first thought was that it sounded like a Buono! song.
Anyway, I'm also linking to a recording of her singing "Uchi e Kaerou" from the LA event (with the inclusion of the English lyrics of "going home"). At the "Onegai Dakara..." event last month, they played a part of it for us, made a big deal about her singing in English, and then I'm pretty sure they said it was gonna be the b-side for the "new song" in September. So now we know the new song. So yeah, here's the b-side. I think! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aThS6s6yW30
It's far different from any sort of rocking.

The PV for this single will be directed by film director Yukihiko Tsutsumi. Click here for pics (click on the photo to see more)
Hopefully she''ll have an awesome PV <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sigh:' /> Unlike "Onegai Dakara" (which is probably the worst PV I have ever seen...)

This should be good! A pity it will still take some time until we watch the full video, or not? My sense of time has been too lacking lately. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sigh:' />

It was cheap and gimmicky, but I wouldn't say it's the worst PV. And least the home video parts tried to do something different. (But I'm the sort of person who likes "Making of" better than PVs, and that's essentially what the actual PV looked like.)
Anyway, I hope we don't get our hopes too high just because it's a movie director. PVs are PVs; rarely does something amazing come out. But we can hope for less boring. So I decided to go look at the other videos this guy has directed.
Some are the standard rock formula of playing in front of a bunch of people, some are the standard hip-hop dudes rapping around town.
Maybe I should try a different genre and look at other lady singers. His video for Otsuka Ai had nice production values, Onitsuka Chihiro's is full of arthouse symbolism. One video for Ando Yuko is pretty, another is cute. But these ladies' songs are a completely different type of song than this current Mano single.
Anyway, my point is that these are all standard pop videos. This may be good in that everyone seems sick of idol-type videos. And if this photo is from the video's filming, then those background people are already a far different element than any recent idol video. It looks like he may just manage to fit the stereotypical idol video into a stereotypical pop-rock world.

I totally adore 2LDK, so this is cool. The photo provided at the website makes me think of Genshoku Gal Hade ni Yukube.

To expound on that picture, here is a news segment with Mano and the director. There is a whip.

Did anybody see Mano in L.A.? Was there a thread with those reports? I never saw anything about it here.
Re: [Mano Erina] 8th Single Genkimono de Ikou!
I don't think anyone went, Madara. :c
Also omfg at that picture. If that costume says anything, this PV will be fucking amazing.

Wow, that guy directed 20th Century Boys. The PV looks like it will be fun and different from the standard H!P fare. I spot Saho and Kikkawa in the background. Anyone that can identify the other two? I'm guessing the one on the left is Takeuchi Akari.
I hope this leads to more acting work for Mano.

I can't tell them apart (despite meeting the ”Onegai Dakara..." ones twice, sorry Eggs); but, although the post-S/mileage lineup seems to change, Saho Akari and Fukumura Mizuki have been constants. Is it Fukumura?

Oh, it's really Kikkawa! I always thought they'd do something greater than Milky Way for her but I was so wrong seeing her feels like I'm watching an older Hello! Project media.
Re: [Mano Erina] 8th Single Genkimono de Ikou!
So, they seem to really be promoting this single what with all the directorial stuff and the b-side being the movie song and everything.
Asahi TV has a "Promercial" site for Mano. Promercial is a portmanteau of "promotional video" and "commercial".
Right now there are two commercials that combine the music video with a product. One's for Luna Luna (something that describes itself as "Women's medical site") and one is for Hi Sour (which bills itself as non-alcoholic but I guess they have Mano drinking orange juice just to dispel any fears since it is a mixer, even though there's probably vodka all up in that orange juice that she prepared backstage). There appears to be a third one for Nissin (provider of lovely Cup Noodle) coming soon.
Further down the page looks to be the cover to the single that I hadn't seen yet. Okay, it probably isn't the cover since the release date is all on the logo, but perhaps it'll look vaguely similar. Or it is the cover, and they just really wanted the license plate to have numbers.
Further yet are some making-of photos.
I hope they're not too disappointed that the single will still only sell 15,000 even with all the promotion.

There's only one version out yet. I'm hoping the official version gets rid of all the making of bits at the end. That sorta ruined it for me a bit. It's clearly unfinished though so I can't wait to see the final version that will more then likely be relieved once the dvd comes out.
