That really depends on what artist/company. After School has released 3 singles and no albums with two digital singles in that time span as well. SNSD on the other hand, It was like Gee and Genie were like singles instead of mini-albums that led up to the album Oh! Then they repackaged with Run Devil Run. I also know 4minute did promote I My Me Mine after Huh so that might be what you are talking about. I get kinda confused with Kpop and their way of releasing stuff. 2 tracks on a Cd is called a mini-album whereas 3 tracks on a Cd is called a single with another artist. I... Don't know what I'm saying.
Both Genie and Gee had five songs. That's certainly a mini album if you ask me. :/ A single would be two songs (A/<img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />.

I was saying that Gee and Genie were kinda like used AS singles like how singles in Japan (the ones that are promoted) were released in a future album, like Gee and Genie in Oh! But like Caramel Orange's "mini-album" only contained two songs. I was just saying how interchangeably they want to use to call that album, like a single, mini-album, album, etc.

Has anyone here mentioned the new JYP Entertainment (same company of 2PM/AM and Wondergirls) group, miss A?

I LOVE the song. Really, really hot girls that can dance really well and can sing fairly well? Yeah, gimme some please. Although I must accept the vocal requirements of the song aren't very high, but they still sound really good.

They seem to be doing really good for being a rookie group (they've won several popularity awards in the music shows)...

...And, two of them are chinese, I'm sure they'll start releasing things in Mandarin a la Super Junior M.

I'll leave you with the video

I said something about them in the download thread. Let me quote for here. ;D
I really like this group. I wonder if they'll release a Chinese album soon? They already have a Chinese version of Love Again when they were just three members. (Dasi Sarang)

I just found out recently that Hae Lim, the new girl in Wonder Girls was supposed to be in this group. ;D yay for fun useless facts.

Another contender has entered the ring for Korea. They hold the title right now as youngest group to debut. AKA They be the Korean Sweets!

GP Basic, none of the girls are over the age of 15 and the youngest is 11 or 12 (That would be Janey BTW and she's also their rapper).

Watch the preview for their debut MV Game. They're single will be released on the 13th.

Being a H!P fan and Jpop fan in general has desensitized me to stuff like this but apparently it's caused quite the chaos because of their age. From what I've read they've been training for two years for their debut. With not much of a preview (And the fact it's vocaltuned to hell), it's hard to tell if they are any good.

...WAIT BACK UP

When did SNSD release a new song? I spotted one on iHoneyJoo but there wasn't an English translation of the name so I didn't download it. (Can't view Korean characters on this computer; the one downside to my Linux)

Last I heard they were working on a Japanese release.

They released a song for a Korean animated kids show. But they aren't actively promoting it. Korean groups seem to only release videos and do performances when they release official albums or singles. BTW their DVD landed on #2 of the oricon charts for first day sales. ;D

And for Kpop news

Secret has returned with their 2nd Mini-Album Madonna and released the MV for their title track. Watch it here.

And we have ANOTHER female group coming out, Nine Muses. (This is competition for Girls' Generation for sure.) They released their debut EP, Lets have a Party with a MV for the song No Playboy. Watch the video here.

Don't ask me how I'm going to keep up with all these groups. I'm not sure myself. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nfused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Edit: Instead of making a new post.

Rainbow released the MV for their new single, A. You can watch it here.

Baby VOX recently reunited. I use to loooove them. ;D The show wont be out till the 22nd, but they did preform. Oh and BoA was there too. :x

Nine Muses are ok. The beat sounds too much like SNSD's Genie.

They're definately taking advantage of SNSD being away in Japan~

But I'm totally loving the new Rainbow song. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Especially since their Gossip Girl song was utter tripe.

And keep in mind, all of them are between the ages of 11/12-15

They keep hiding the 11/12 year old in the back in the dance shots, I find that hilarious. 8o

I was going to make a really smart-ass remark about you being on the wrong board, but I didn't know how to appropriately convey that I was joking. So,

WRONG BOARD BUDDY WE'RE THRUSTY PRE-TEENS ALL DAY AND NIGHT

PS: winkie face winkie face winkie face i agree it's kind of uncomfortable winkie face

Anyway.

That Nine Muses thing is like some sort of freaky combination of everything SNSD, except in lower quality. It actually makes me kind of uncomfortable, like watching JPopYuna makes me uncomfortable. Ugh, I'm using the word "uncomfortable" a lot. I'm sure the fact that I don't like SNSD to start with makes it even worse.

I'm really, really itching for the next 2NE1 release. As much as their songs aren't the best out there, I love those girls more than any Korean group. They haven't done anything since Try to Copy Me other than a couple of really fierce photoshoots. I said fierce.

I could do with some more BEG, as well.

Okay so this technically isn't a new group, but I'll give a little history lesson. Back in the day (2005) there was this group called i-13 (and besides S.E.S and Baby Vox, the only Korean groups I knew of.) it was hailed as the female version of Super Junior. And on the BBS it was talked about and was like a Korean Version of Morning Musume. They had girls of all ages and even a Kago look alike. There hit song was One More Time. (I liked it, still do. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> )

Well the group bombed or they couldn't afford that many girls and they disappeared, then in 2009 three members reappeared along with a new girl and formed JQT. They released a song in fall of last year and then disappeared, again. Well they are back with a new song, No Need To Know

I'm going to have to agree with this 100% because it's unlistenable. D: It feels like they couldn't decide on the instrumental so they used them all.

PQ! Yes! I love i-13/JQT! i-13 was unfortunately short-lived even though I only liked One More Time Remix from their album. I was super excited to hear that JQT was making their debut, but I didn't really fall in love with their debut song. This song, however, is fun and really easy to get into.

Supposedly she's 24.

Aww, Ap, she spend all of Hey! asking your permission. 8o

The funny thing is, I generally can't stand Korean rap stuff at all. Well, I should clarify. I like it within a girl group setting as long as it isn't forced and awful like f(x). It's just the straight up YO WE GANGSTA stuff that bugs me, if it's got a cute girly twist I generally like it.

That said, I consider my love for e.via to be of the universe's great mysteries. It must be the little cartoon butt.

Awesome! Here's a working link. Baby V.O.X, along with S.E.S and Fin.K.L, laid the groupwork for the current crop of KPop girl groups who will likely experience more wide-ranging success then they did. BV was always my favorite of the Big 3 back then, and it's cool to see them still tight with each other after all these years. And they all look just fine to me.

Three members from After School (Kahi, JungAh, and Jooyeon) made a mockPV for Orange Caramel's (also from After School) Magic Girl and the members of Orange Caramel (Raina, Nana, and Lizzy) did a mockPV for After School's Diva. The video is quite entertaining as they are doing it in the middle of a theme park while riding some of the rides.

You can watch it here -> (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szj2VSg5ngY) Link may die soon though. ;D

Super Junior released a digital single on the 16th of August called Tok Tok Tok (Listen here -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8IYntYYYU0) and for the life or me and I can't figure out where I've heard it before in Japanese. It's going to bug the crap out of me, can anyone help? D:

Edit: I went in search for myself, it's a trot song. I guess that's like... the Korean version of Japanese Enka/Folk music? Yeah I'll go with that. But the melody is very familiar still and yeah...
